Forgive me if I was not clear. That was done last year. My last statement in my post was a catch-all just in case I missed anyone. As far as everyone who donated, a lot were family and friends. A low percentage were people from the boards. If people I reached out to didn't respond there's not much I can do about that. People that wanted a refund got one, people that didn't were fine whether they knew me and knew the actual story of what happened with the money or they were fine with where I am now in my life. People that didn't respond I have zero idea why. I'm not "sitting back" on anything. I came forward on the forum last year and told people I'd pay them back. Then I immediately paid them back. That's taking responsibility. I could have not said anything and not paid anyone back. I understand where you're coming from, but that's not what happened nor is it what's happening now. All I meant was that if I missed anyone, come forward and I'll pay you back. That's the situation moving forward.

Fun fact...the Surfer was officially licensed from Marvel for the use, but it had to be renewed multiple times. After failing to reach an agreement on (guess what) financial terms, in 2018 Satriani was forced to change the cover to something different going forward.

He's done that quite a bit over his career.

I have such a crush on her. I can't explain it, really. I don't really think her "superhero" acting is stellar by any means.

Just as all my transgressions were researched thoroughly all over the internet and posted here, I'm sure people can find the stuff from last year when I reached out on the forum and paid people here back that wanted to be paid back. Kav, Sharon, Beige, Bird were amongst the people made whole. I also left things open that if anyone knew of someone that wanted a donation refund or had missed my initial outreach, they could contact me at any time to work something out. That remains the status of it all and something I'll continue to do moving forward.

This is the shelf in my bathroom with my McFarlane Giants figures. They were part of a monster action figure collection I purchased a few weeks ago. I decided to keep them as a memento of that.

We have two great comic shops here in the Myrtle Beach area and two other collectible shops as well (one great, one cruddy) so they don't ALL suck.

They stopped posting her because she's a (now-ex, but not back then) porn starlet.

Thanks for the comments, everyone. I've begun posting again and am happy to be interacting with everyone. This really is a fun place to be. As far as not buying/selling, as I said before that is fine and no big deal. I understand why I'm remaining on the HOS and I won't be selling or buying here. It's not wanted by all and not needed by me to be a productive member of this community again.

That's when you have to tweak your business model. Don't sell things lower than a certain price so it's "worth your time" to sell it. Anything lower, put into lots to make up for the "time" difference. I think it was Flying Donut who has said multiple times on the forum that if you can't make money selling comic books, you're not doing something right somewhere.

I get that, but no other store uses that business model...which is my opinion is ridiculous. Deliberately overprice everything just because it's difficult to restock those items? If Chuck was more concerned about cash flow he'd be a billionaire. Lol

...and yet, most of the people that post here, don't. They aren't as comprehensive as they want people to think.

If something is priced as the lowest currently available on eBay and someone offers 50% of that price, that's a waste of the seller's time (as short as it is to decline an offer). I wish I had that kind of time to just waste by offering unrealistic prices to sellers on eBay.

Had my dear friend Heidi contact me the other day about her boyfriend's best friend. He had a collection of 1970s comic and horror magazines that he inherited from his father, but he and his mom knew nothing about them. She said she knew someone that could help out so she called me. I drove out to meet with them and it turned out to be so much fun that I literally stayed for a few hours. They were NY Giants and Yankees fans like I am and we got along like proper paisanos. 😊 I explained to them what they had and in the end they were more than happy with my offer. Here are some of the highlights...

Shad is right. There are no "shortcuts" to this, really. I picked up a collection of comic magazines locally a few days ago from people that knew literally nothing about the hobby and didn't have the time or care to research everything. It was outside the scope of their "regular" life and what they had going on right now. They appreciated my knowledge and the cash offer that was made when I explained to them what they had and why certain things were important. They were also happy to have it gone immediately with little effort on their part. You have to put in the work over time to be able to evaluate on the fly.

I have no idea. I was just answering someone's question. Matt already said he's collecting information to give to authorities/investigators. He did that a few days ago.

I think people are worried that he's unhinged enough (based on his posts) that the door confrontation would go south fast.

Very sad to read this news. A true fan of comics and a great personality.
