When was the last time you shipped 150 orders in an afternoon?
Never, but I've done 100 orders in under 5 hours this year, not under any kind of time crunch. If I was pressed for time I'm sure I could do 150 in 4 hours. It's just the process I use is fast and I've done it for years now, repeatedly, dozens of times a week (at least). This is talking about just single comics or single carded action figures...nothing involved. That is what we were discussing, right? Just want to make sure.

That's like under 90 seconds an order. No way. Print a label, package the comic (assuming you have all the comics lined up in order), seal your gemini or whatever.... It takes a few minutes, probably more like 3-5 minutes a package even if you are heavily caffeinated and in a trance, and that's with everything already perfectly prepped up to do this, which should also be factored into your time.
Printing a label from eBay is like 5 seconds assuming you have your listing set up correctly (10oz package weight, 13"x9"x2" package size). It takes less than 30 seconds to package a comic in a Gemini mailer, and maybe 30 seconds more if you're taping the book in-between a cardboard sandwich. Maybe. if the book is more expensive I'll take an extra minute due to the thickness of the cardboard sandwich, but that's just my OCD in wanting it to show up the way it was sent.
3-5 minutes a package? That's slow unless you're packing up larger toys and many comics in the same package, but then again it takes me less than a minute to pack up a single packaged action figure. It's not difficult to do it quickly and safely.

"You...didn't kill...Anakin Skywalker...
...*I* did."
I love love LOVE that scene. It's classic Star Wars to me.

Not nearly as much as packing and shipping 150 orders.
With comics, that's not a lot of time at all. 3-4 hours, maybe? If that.

My thought and philosophy when trying to reignite a failed franchise is always this:
-
Simplify the concept and do what works in order to bring back the audience so they can trust you again.
- If this means rebooting from an earlier film or remaking one of them, nothing is off the table.
The Force Awakens only did this part of your philosophy and it made out like gangbusters.

Here's that forthcoming HoTo comic Wolverine. @Dave2739 -- any idea if these HoTo figures will eventually get a more deluxe release? I've got no FOMO with Hot Toys, so I can easily wait years if they've indicated they will release two versions of each figure, or if it seems likely that they will eventually. My guess is they've already said they will release both entry level and deluxe versions or that they'll say it within the next year or so if they haven't already.
Now THAT is amazing. Wow. It looks perfect.

How could somebody hate comic books?

Why not a blue label with notation above the serial number in bold that says "JSA Authenticaed Signature?"

I've heard enough tales of most "talents" to know they're all a peculiar breed in some way so I appreciate and respect it can't always be praise when it comes to personal impressions. I kinda consider myself lucky to have not dealt with many of my influences on a personal level for that reason. A handshake and "keep it moving" is fine with me.
It can for a few people I've spent lots of time around. I'll name Terry Austin, Ron Marz and Todd DeZago. Terry in particular has been a friend for 25+ years and is one of the kindest people I've ever met in my life.

They hired them NOT for authentication. They hired them to be the QC team!
Come on, people. Wake UP.

At least they made it clear that the Camara was "for your parents" while you get stuck with the toys. Don't want to get those hopes up too high!

Easy as hell to play.

They need to scrap this. It's pretty simple to me...
FF movie. Silver Surfer movie. Doom movie. X-Men movie.
Then the heroes are forced to team up with Doom to save Earth against the threat of Galactus.
Doom saves the day in the end when the heroes are defeated.

I do enjoy it very much. It's one of the handful of DC movies that I'll actually watch over again.

Loose game market is pretty strong right now. I just sold an Atari 2600 Quadrun with a not-NM label for $500.

Packaged action figures from the 70s and 80s routinely sell for more than this piece. Crazy to think about that disconnect, eh?
I mean are Snake Eyes, Boba Fett and He-Man really more important than Superman? ...than the FIRST Superman toy AND the FIRST action figure toy?
No...and yet...

It was very very powerful, solemn and emotional. I thought they did an amazing job with that entire sequence.

One of my favorite artists of all time. He really got me into comics in the first place with his Fantastic Four run. I picked up about 5 issues around #250 while the family was visiting an uncle and was hooked ever since. Had a huge collection of any book he had art in long before the Internet and eBay made it easy. It being friends with Terry Austin in the early 90s helped as he'd clue me in to obscure stuff or source something oddball for me. One of the highlights of my life was going with Terry to John's house for a visit back in 1995. I got to have dinner with Byrne & Austin, and for this comic fan it doesn't get any better than that. I never really read much of his stuff after Next Men finished as I didn't really buy new comics anymore. The few pages of Elsewhen I've seen were okay.
Thoughts on one of the GOATs? Any personal stories or opinions on his artwork? I welcome them all because I know he's also a grump that rubs some the wrong way.
