  1. I never understand the rush to throw cash away. Sure, if the book/movie is rubbish - take what you can get - RIPD is the best example of that - I'm happy to get $10 tbh. The film stank. However with other Books, It has to be better to wait surely, and let the readership grow? Peter Panzerfaust, Saga and Revival are good examples, $400, $100 and $45 respectively. I'm more than happy to turn a $18 commitment (book + slabbing+ postage) into $45+ any day of the week. I have listed some EoW, but at my price, and if they don't sell, I'm in no rush. People are very canny to snap up these CGC issues for $18 while the glut is on. Next year you would hope after 12 issues, this should be a steady $40 - $50 book all day long. $18 to slab? super duper dealer discount? at non fast track, im at 14.40 plus $5 invoice and around $20 return shipping fedex. im looking at $20 per to break even, not even counting the price of the book. $18 even with return shipping to aus? Yup $14.40 pr. book for slabbing, $2.10 for the actual book (cover price $3.50 with a 40% discount), $0.15 for the invoice fee (on a 30 book sub) ... so on a 30 book invoice it's only costing you around $1.50/book to get it shipped from Australia to CGC and then back again to Australia? You are making assumptions. How I do things is mine to know. But it isn't like your scenario. Not even close. And that's all I have to say on this matter. :: The only thing that might change in the scenario above is the cost of the actual book - please don't pretend that you're somehow not paying the CGC fees I list above (and, yes, I realize you can save money by using a service within the US that buys the books here and submits them to CGC for you, but that still leaves getting them shipped back to Australia). what he trying to say is he is best at break even. and stop him. and stop asking questions. but 18 isnt breaking even.
  2. mid season break under 1500 maybe. market is crazy. but no way ba 12 will hit 2 g's. most harley fans would rather use that money at hot topic or improving their cosplay outfit. So, in your opinion, the people driving up the prices on BA12 are Harley cosplayers? Interesting theory. Right now, I would rather have four copies of BA 12 than one WD 1. nope. cosplayers dont buy comics. was saying harleys fans are mostly cosplayers.

I doubt BA12 will hit 2k, I actually never said it would, but what I did say is you will see WD1 in 9.8 come down while BA12 in 9.8 goes up. This gap in GPA is closing daily. Going into the future I clearly seeing BA12 in 9.8 selling for more than a WD1. Less supply and more demand to come. And certainly a movie talk would help, but even without its already happening. your right the gap is closing. but i still cant see a ba12 in 9.8 passing a wd1 in 9.8, unless wd1's start selling for under $500.

  5. a harley quinn movie would be direct to video. im sure harley has fans, but prices on ba 12 will drop, long before wd 1 will. we can say wd 1 prices will drop every year but i dont see it happening anytime soon. ba 12 is scarce in 9.8 but im still not sure why the price increased this much in less than 1 year.

Depends whether you buy your books from the U.S. and have them directly submitted for you then sent back to Australia - that's the cheapest option. But you still get charged for that. If you get them pressed there's obviously a charge also. I'd have to make at least $28 to break even here in Aus. yeah, i would think that to break even you would have to be at around $28 in australia. im in the states, and even with a dealer discount have to hit $20 for non fast track just to break even. i just thought with even higher return shipping costs, $18 would not be breaking even.

I get what you mean after 12 issues I will assume a non cgc copy will go for 40-o 50$ but I can definitely see this being 100+ book all day long for a 9.8 no question. who just stole this from me http://www.ebay.com/itm/290988847152?ssPageName=STRK:MEDWX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1435.l2649#ht_1895wt_1428 can someone can explain to me how sniping works? is this an example? like if someone had the initial bid at .99 and his max was $100, if someone using a sniping program had a max bid of $30 and there is 1 sec left, would it go to $31 or is the sniping program raising the bid by minimum until the time goes out? honest question.

  10. so did my wd113 9.8 auction and it was legit as spoon
  11. Hoping my regular modern from 7/8 ships soon. It's been stuck in Graded/QC for 2 1/2 weeks. mine from 7/8 just shipped today. 61 business days.
  12. prescreen modern received 8/5 still at received
  13. Yes, we on the boards are geniuses. No boardie ever pays too much or sells for too little. It's only the suckers out there in the general public. We are also all winning poker players. That comment is taken out of context. The point was that nobody here would buy a high dollar auction when the same item could be had for less on a BIN. I was just saying that everyone here buys a comic with the intention, maybe subconsciously, of selling it later. collectors buy with no intention of selling it.
  14. Did you get into a bidding war with Barry Weiss on that one?! I can imagine how great that would be going through those boxes and the finds inside! i wish brother it's really nothing spectacular. just bulk stuff. half of those boxes are filled with x-force #1's
  15. posted somewhere else but, added 35,000 books to my collection yesterday.
  16. funny thing is, i was selling these on the boards for $38 the week before. a boardie bought it. told him about the ebay sale. he sold it for a best offer i guess. probably 250 maybe. we win.
  17. nope. i asked why it was at $75 last week. both bidders have bought off me before. buyer actually paid. crazy i know.
  18. And there are BINs for $16.99 with free shipping. I think people search by best match on EBAY and not lowest price. +1 That must be it. I have several lower BINs that are getting passed up. Can't be a feedback issue...100% with close to 1k sales. It makes no sense whatsoever. Auctions are like rolling the dice because many buyers are uniformed or uneducated when it comes to getting their best deal IMHO. they also might be collectors. we, the boards, are dealers and buy low, always, and sell high, always. collectors pay what they want, price does not matter to collectors.
  19. I made offers on that one too. Good work. Gratifying to say the least. Thanks Good success story. Congrats! Be sure to post when you get the book! You bet (thumbs u just walking down the street, decided to put the slab on the ground and take a picture. Great book.
