  1. I saw you at G.A.tor's booth at NYCC. I wanted to say hello but was afraid you would tell me to suck it So Hi! Your loss Greggy is actually quite friendly. Next year I am going to cosplay as a Taun Taun and allow Greggy to sit on my shoulders as we go around the con floor. Don't be surprised when he cuts you open to keep himself warm I like to go after the short compact ones first.
  2. 7.5, the staples and little bit of dirt on the back cover, but the rest looks really pretty. Without the dirt, 7.5/8.0.
  3. No, unless its a friend. If not a friend/person you have done deals with a lot in the past, then take 50% off
  4. Even if this is the "Copper's Heating/Selling Well on Ebay" thread I was saying it’s a shame they are not known and appreciated. I wasn’t thinking about the value. Also, I was talking of books up to 1991 max. (and so the very early Wolverine, in this case) – most of the following years' productions were just bad. I would not pay $0.50 myself for most of what Marvel published in the 1990s. i have two kids, a big mortgage, and a job that doesn't pay that well (considering where i live). i spend 97% of my waking hours stressed about money and 93% of my dream-time as well. Find something that makes you money other than your job. yup, that's me bring a crass money driven comics selling non-purist when i was single and childless i thought about building up a cool collection with lots of cool stuff and owning them until i dropped dead or whatever, but now i mostly see thousands of potential ways to pay my bills if i only had more time and energy. it's sad. i enjoy the medium still, of course, but virtually nothing i own is viewed as a long term hold anymore. I believe he was just suggesting that you could find a way to have additional income, aside from buying and reselling comics, without having to continuously worry about it. Not that it’s easy but maybe find a way to save on your daily expenses? I seem to recall you said you live in an expensive zone. i need to make my kids latchkey kids. this will be tough for the 4 year old though. paying someone a living wage to watch them while their parents work three full time jobs between them is bankrupting me. wah wah wah. i do realize i do not have real problems, just ones of my own making! my wife says i should drive for uber at night. i prefer the gigolo route (hetero only!), but not much demand for a 300+ pounder in his mid-40s. Cant be wealthy unless you go into business for yourself. I heard someone say.
  5. Just rephrase. "Mcp has an issue worth some money so tell me what it is."
  6. Wow, that's nice of her. Was it her husband's or son's collection? Husbands collection. She is still married to him and I am trading hockey cards for comic books. The collection starts at #95. She was going to throw them out as the LCS offered her next to nothing. Word of mouth brought her my way via a friend. I'm sorry but this story sounds like BS, throw them out? I'm sorry you feel that way, but you are wrong! Are you married? Have you ever tried to sell to a LCS? Have a nice day! Isn't the poster questioning the "throw them out" part? An unscrupulous LCS may not offer much, for sure. What sounds odd is that rather than take a small sum from the LCS, she was going to throw them out and get nothing in return. Wouldn't some money be better than one? I see your point and spreads point. I don't like my honesty questioned though. This lady went into a shop with one or two of the binders. They told her it is really not worth anything unless she had the entire "set". Maybe that has worked in the past for the store owner. In her view she has the things all over the house and they aren't worth anything. Lets just throw them away already. Her husband likes hockey , so we worked out a deal. So instead of money, they want hockey cards? Works for them. Go sell them for money and come home with hockey cards.
  7. what i got from baltimore. Only 2 of the slabs were bought, the rest was onsite.
  8. Nvm, there is a pad on the bottom i think.
  9. Wont those types of press's pancake books?
  10. Not a good answer, but it seems you and the buyer are going to work it out. Thats good. Seems like a good answer to me. When you consider the number of sellers who come here claiming victimhood and blaming the buyer whenever something goes wrong, this looks pretty professional to me. Fault acknowledged and remedy applied. I'm guessing the issue has something to do with the use of media mail, is that it? We don't have "media mail" (at least I don't think so) here in Canada, so I've never been clear on what service it represents exactly. Yeah, it was a good response. You are right. Was just looking more for the "Dude really sorry, refund already given. I will never ship like that again." he did realize his mistake and made good.

  12. i know a dude that loves adam hughes art a lot, can't remember who...
  13. Really ? That is the one book in his stack that did not seem to be up to Greggy standard. My bad, of course your comment was tongue in cheek. i was sharing the booth with the person that sold it, and youre right, not up to that standard.
  14. The top left tear might be production, that bottom left definitely isn't Also, the to the left of "Super Powers" is a pretty big crease. Also on the back is a pretty bad scuff? On the spine above aquaman on the right in the dark spot of the spine. Scanned enough books to know thats not white but a tear/hole forming.
  15. Im not sure divads copy is a 9.8. Maybe, but that folded tear in the bottom left corner is not production/bindery tear is it? Looks wonderful otherwise.
  16. Not true-I have been blocked by exactly one seller and dozens of times over the years a book I wanted to bid on was denied me. I can't imagine being blocked by hundreds-and the most prolific sellers on ebay. Absolutely true. board members are a small minority of ebay users. Why do scamsters like djbrady4u and all thingscomics still sell well on ebay? If chip, just using you as an example, were blocked by every active forum member on ebay, he would still be able to make a living and probably not feel much of a dent in hammer prices. If you were blocked by 1 seller and were denied, you were bidding on that same sellers stuff. Also, minus big boys mcs and mile high, the most prolific sellers arent forum members.
  17. Photobucket. There is a tutorial in the noob thread i think.
