  1. Is your Economy FT? Getting to verified in a week for a slow track Economy would be damn near unprecedented the way things are going lately. Not FT. Not sure why it was verified so quick. I dropped it off at Wizard World Atlanta.
  2. Economy submission: Received: 6/3 Verified :6/10 Scheduled For Grading : ? Graded : ? Quality Control : ? Shipped : ? They need to update the site to say 60 business days instead of the current 50.
  3. Yup. Manicnerd is a really cool dude. His offer was good.
  4. When can i take stuff again? I want to offer something of $value.
  5. Brock has bought from me multiple times. Haven't left feedback for him yet. He always pays quickly and doesnt complain when i scratch his slabs on purpose.
  6. Phils cool. Paid and said thanks. Good guy
  7. Its not a matter of disagreeing with your conservative standards, we just dont know your standards. Most people use overstreet's grading standards or an educated guess of what cgc's grading would be. Im sure nobody has heard of the smithdatura grading standards.
  8. Wow, okay. What department do you work for at CGC? If the back cover is approximately equivalent, could be a 5 on a good day I'd say. I have a CGC 5.5 that doesn't look noticeably better. I guess the level of grading has sadly gone south if that's the case (although I guess if you're the one getting a book graded, that's a good thing)... This other listing for a CGC 3.5 Spidey looks pretty equivalent to the JLA 18, though like you say who knows what's going on with the back cover, in both cases. CGC 3.5 Spidey But you can see why this is a 3.5 which looks worse, at least front cover wise, than the jla 18 http://www.ebay.com/itm/TALES-TO-ASTONISH-60-1964-ANT-MAN-GIANT-MAN-HULK-CGC-3-5-No-Reserve-/380949212097?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item58b257abc1
  9. +1 Not even overstreet grading. We all have a copy of the overstreet grading guide. does the scan of the front look like the 3.0-3.5 pictured in the guide?
  10. Starting to like the sound of that.
  11. (worship) It's amazing how some offers go so quickly. This was great erazer. Thanks.
  12. What, the one where divad got in my face for no good reason and I defended myself? "PMs from trustworthy board members?" Make up some more evidence, will ya? Divad didnt get in your face for no reason and people were offering advice that was not being taken well by you. Not making up any evidence. Dont mean to put him on blast right now but, just ask flyingdonut to weigh in.
  13. This was a well written post that deserves consideration so I didn't want it to get lost in the shuffle. No goddamit
  14. That copper age thread about books heating up was one. Certain PM's from trustworthy board members. I cant be the only person that see's the attitude.
  15. W I'm not ever asking for a handout or a donation. I offer books for sale. Just because I state the reason why I'm selling doesn't mean I'm asking for a damn handout. Absolutely it is. If you tried selling those same books with the headline "i just feel like selling them" probably wont sell as many as selling in a thread titled "selling my comics. need help to support my family". You not playing the handout card but you are definitely playing the sympathy card. You act like I'm begging for money and offering up NOTHING in return. Not true. with the attitude you show to a lot of board members, selling would be twice as hard if not for the reason for selling.
  16. Not personal. Chips cool. Just takes things to the next level and needed to hear some mess before he goes any further.

  18. I gave multiple times long before I "got" anything. I also never asked for ANY help at all. None of it. Anyone who offered I told them they didn't have to do it. I can't force people to stop doing what they want to do, as evidenced by this damn thread. Thats where you are wrong chip. You have asked for help. Most sales threads start out "i need this for my family" or "ex-girlfriend messed up my ebay and i need ebay to support my family" or whatever. You may not directly ask for help, but you are very close to it.
  19. My attitude right now is that I'm pretty angry. I don't feel like I've done something horrid at all. I select stuff for the thread, post it up and get a bunch of flack for it. My first offer was taken quickly. My second offer wasn't and I switched it. People said it was a great offer, and now I'm getting flack for it again. Now they're pulling in everything everyone has done for me in the forum (even though I told the people via PM they did NOT have to do anything for me...that was none of anyone's business but I now I need to point it out) and saying that I haven't given back to the forum at all??? I was giving to the forum long before anything was given to me, so that's insulting and it makes my blood pressure skyrocket. The collection I just posted about has nothing to do with this thread, what I can give to this thread, or anything in here at all. Everyone assumes I got it all for a song and should just give it all away here. You shouldn't give it away. You should be making a trade.
  20. Now you're piling on, too? This is getting ridiculous. Stop it. Im just pointing out facts. I understand your situation. But this board has helped you. A lot. You should be kissing instead of kicking it.
  21. I think you are taking this way to personal. You offered up some books, cool. Just dont get too upset over this thread. Besides, guide price kamandi's are wonderful and even better is when some insufficiently_thoughtful_person actually pays anywhere near guide for them. Raw Kamandi's, in any grade, minus #1 are $1.
  22. You cant deny he can draw some stuff great even if you dont care for his faces i can deny. I understand artists love him because he was one of the firsts, but I would never call him a great artist. I can't judge an artist because I know very little about art but it just looks awful. You think Odin's outfit here is terribly drawn? You think odins outfit here is beautifully drawn? I need examples. Maybe if you explain to me why you like him, i can better appreciate his work. Serious, not trying to be a . Just why his artwork is good in your opinion. Yes I think it is super incredibly drawn. The op art and cubist elements as well as his use of 3 dimensions in the outfit is amazing. The black-white balance is spot-on-something some of the artists you mentioned have trouble with. It's imaginative as hell and speaking as an artist it's really really hard to think up all those design elements off the top of your head-and Kirby does it consistently. His depiction of machinery and worlds in FF was incredible. I guess you don't know how difficult it is to achieve unless you've tried it. And the design elements hold well-it doesn't look sporadic as many of say Jim Lee's pieces do, where's there's just a wad of superheroes all crammed together with no overarching design holding it all together. It takes a master to draw something so complex that does not confuse the viewer. I understand your view though-like i said I used to hate Kirby. This i can understand. Just not "kirby is the king". It would take a lot of imagination to create this kind of stuff, definitely an art. Im a child of the copper/modern era. I grew up on that stuff so i have a different point of view on what i like characters to look like.
