  1. man that was a great reveal - I guessed about 30 seconds before he revealed. Great twist that we all didn't see coming a mile away!
  2. I loved the early years of smallville. Starting around season 6-8 I thought were pretty silly. It ended strong with season 10 though.
  3. Wonderful cross over. But the end is excruciating to watch. You'd think 3 seasons in, we could create some excitement/drama without I do really enjoy the show though
  4. Wow, that Bats/Cats statue is amazing. I wish the Supes was about half the cost haha - holy smokes!
  5. Can I ask where you pre-ordered from?
  6. I have to say, the rage Supergirl showed with her heat vision at the end was also really well done. Sometimes, stuff like that just ends up looking silly and I thought she totally sold it (and the effects were really good).
  7. I really liked tonight's episode. I think the show in general doesn't take itself so seriously - it's meant to be light hearted and uplifting and I think it accomplishes that really well. There's at least one moment each episode which brings a big smile to my face. I enjoy the "normal" life of Supergirl even more than her scenes at the DEO a lot of the time. Very different than the other WB shows, but I am enjoying it just as much, it's the only one I actually set time aside to watch live - the others I catch online.
  8. The Wall Street Journal has a global news staff of more than 2,000 journalists in 85 news bureaus across 51 countries... The NY Times has over 3500 employees
  9. I assume the only reason they do as many variants as they do is to maximize profit, which may show a lack of trust in the book itself to do well. Actually I think it's because a lot of the people at DC today felt DKR was a defining book for them and the chance to work with Frank on a similar project is a career highlight. I've heard at least 3 different artists mention they really wanted to get to be a part of the project and doing a cover is amazing. If it was all about money, they'd be releasing all the variants to all the shops the same way they did with the JLA state flags cover. But realistically, by creating a cover based on his concept isn't working Frank. If Frank dictated the image they created, e.g. Layouts that would be working with Frank. Sure, but it's still getting to contribute something to that world/universe in a legitimate fashion, even if it's a VERY small contribution. They get to be a part of something that meant a lot to them and that's exciting even if it's on the periphery. I'd say this pretty much sums it up for me. People sometimes forget that professionals are just big fans who get to do comics for a living. When DK1 came out, I'd only been working professionally for a year or two and Miller's vision made a HUGE impact on my and all my peers. If you'd told me almost 30 years later that I would be able to contribute in some very small way to the DK legacy by providing a cover, I would not have believed you. Every single A list artist wanted to contribute to this project in some way when it was first conceived, and this was a way to allow a lot of guys fulfill a dream. I don't know how successful DK3 will be artistically in words and pictures, or how much money DC will or won't make, but speaking for myself, this is a bucket list moment. It's ok for people to be cynical. I get it. Nothing is going to wipe the smile from my face when I get that first issue of DK3 with my cover in my hands--geeky bliss at it's finest. Scott Thanks for sharing Mr Williams Your cover is beautiful (one of the two I ordered). That kind of passion is the thing that can still make comics great and it truly does come through!
  10. Liked the second episode. They didn't shy away from saying "Superman" quite as much which was nice.
  11. She was 10x better than Laurel as Canary in terms of action though. She was at least somewhat believable in terms of coordination & fighting ability etc.
  12. Man King Shark looked great - that was some of the best TV CG work I've seen.
  13. That was a much more personal article and seemed to show more ownership by Frank - very interesting. I'm looking forward to it

  15. I think you might be working too hard to preserve Zod's historic "rationality." The opening scene and subsequent story after Zod's arrival showed how the foundation of his "design" led him to have what was essentially a mental breakdown. His design to protect his race at all costs driving him into effective insanity. This comes to it's highest point (and is reinforced) when Clark takes away his "purpose" at the end and his only thought is to destroy Superman and Metropolis (an echo of his same reaction to Jor-El's betrayal). The guy is a super villain - a general who has gone insane and his first instincts are violence and destruction. At one point he yells, "I will never stop until I destroy all of humanity." Not the calm strategist we are told he once was.
  16. I think that sorta misses the point of the whole villain development that the first 20 minutes established. That conversation would probably have gone more like: Supes: "hey Zod, so I know you really want Earth, and you don't really know me, but you were mostly cool with my dad ...[interrupted] Zod: " Shut up! I want to exterminate you and everything you care about cause that's what your insufficiently_thoughtful_person Dad did to me. I don't care about the humans but since you do, killing them is like a bonus! That's what you get for having a family that stole my only way to save my planet and then imprisoned me in living hell for 30 years. Oh, and I'll probably take Mars just for funsies because I'm also raging villain!. KNEEL....!" Supes: "Oh maaaaaahhhn! I really thought that would work... welp: [fight ensues as movie went (mostly)]
  17. Yeah we've seen this before - it totally works. Green Lantern wooo! .....
  18. Looks like it's on the side of his gun too

  20. Yeah I'm sure it's neither since it's TV. I just looked like a navyish label to me and that's what I thought during the show. I don't know hardly anything about scotch.
  21. I noticed the same thing. Even though she poured a glass (no ice) for her sister and not for herself, the inference is that the half empty bottle presumably is being consumed by Kara, at least in part. Taking a page from Tony Stark's playbook? Actually, I think that's Johnnie Blue - she's a high rollin assistant!!!
  22. Liked it a lot. Great foundation. She's a great fit for the character.
