I had a ~$20k package of CGC books go missing. Spent 3 weeks calling with no luck. Package was shipped registered. My wife went to the local post office, asked if they had it which they promptly gave to her. Had just been sitting at the local PO.

Actually, Pop’s books are kind of a weird “pedigree”. Historical artifacts if you will. I’ve had a few and sold them quickly.
Am I the only sick pervert who would like a "Pop" superhero book?

When I first started buying original artwork, $20 was a lot to spend for me. Sadly as my disposable income increased, so did the price of artwork but I am happy with what I have been able topic up over the years.

I think my buying for the year is over. Here are some highlights of my acquisitions. Not so much buying this year. Concentrated on two bigger (for me) purchases and then just some things that caught my eye.
I've always thought Blackhawk deserved more respect in the hobby. After all, he survived from the Golden Age to the Modern Age without superpowers.

Happy holidays, denizens of the boards, and may all your wantlist wishes be filled in 2024!
That Military Comics looks WAY better than the assigned grade
And the Batman 24 is awesome ! Must have snagged it from a collector with amazing taste.

Maybe someday when I'm retired I'll set all mine up again. They take up a good amount of space. As a kid I never knew the Allosaurus didn't initially get base, and didn't understand why one was pictured on the maps from '72 on.
Definitely post a picture if you put them together.
I have thought about buying built kits to paint and display but before I do, need to make sure I have room for them. In my retirement office I hope to have built in bookshelves that span on wall with a lot of floor to ceiling spacing.

I have no particular OA collecting goals for next year, just to spend (a lot) less and be more discerning. Less buying for the sake of buying after a very active 2022 (101 pieces bought/2 sold) and 2023 (104 pieces bought/1 sold).
That’s a whole lot of artwork! Over 200 piece accumulated in just 2 years

This just happened a 2nd time for $2k comic book. Just a signature required delivery that no one was home for. The tracking number on the attempted delivery slip didn’t match anything in their system. I had to call multiple times and finally waited for 20 minutes on hold. The lady said the delivery driver probably didn’t scan the bar code on the slip so it was associated with the package but try going to the post office and they may have it. Sure enough, it was at the post office.
