Not sure about anyone else but I definitely get all my financial and stock investing advice from a comic book message board. I declined purchasing Nvidia stock in 2020 because I was certain the stock certificates had been pressed and potentially trimmed.

I'm pretty sure they've offered 9.6 copies before.
But I never thought I'd see the Curator ASM 1, as I figured it was locked up in a collection forever.
I think that was an Amazing Fantasy 15

I thought it was clink that had the 9.6. I didn't see a 9.6 in Heritages archive but could have missed it

This is probably a top 10 in my collection. The background story, the year is 1996 and I am deep in college working on my PhD dissertation and getting ready to take my exams. The internet is becoming a more important place and I found a site where you could get peoples address. I knew D!ick Sprang was living in AZ and was able to get his address so I sent him a letter telling him about myself and how his work had inspired me over the years. A total fanboy action but he was alive and I really wanted to let him know how much I loved his work. To my shock and surprise, he wrote back. This is the letter he sent me.

I get it. High grade, big numbers. So what? Most people here can only dream of owning even a super low grade copy. Personally, I am much more impressed to see truly rare GA books in any condition. The kind that never turn up in ANY grade. Collections like Jon Berk’s, BangZoom and Gator’s Centaur collection, now those were impressive.
I don't think it is a competition. If it were we couldn't get excited about anything that wasn't as impressive as the the Promise Collection. It has been a while since any auction house has had some of these unicorn books. Look how excited people got over a Detective 27 cover only.

Actually, par for the course now days. A lot of these books (although “key”), seem down right common.
I mean, how earth shaking is it to see books like this any more.
I believe the Superman 1 will be the highest unrestored grade Heritage has ever offered.
Highest Spiderman 1 they have offered is a 9.4

What about this unpublished Spy vs. Spy? You posted the image but didn't comment on it.
I liked it a lot and underbid it. Probably would have gone a little higher had I been watching it live and not just thrown in a proxy bid in advance.
even though it was unpublished I thought it was nice and the final hammer seemed about right.

If the amount of primo material coming to the market is drying up, is it a good time to consign material? Does a B or C grade piece get upgraded to an A- or B grade ?
I struggle to decide if prices are going up or not. I guess I am going to declare prices to be mixed, some very high, some about right, and some on the low side. I feel like I have gotten some great deals on Peanuts material lately but maybe my taste in strips is out of sync with the rest of the collecting community.
Gene Colan Submariner panel page with tons of action for only $3k, seemed cheap
Calvin and Hobbs drawing with an awesome bit at $102k, seemed about right given recent prices.
Great Batman Splash for only $3120, seemed like a good deal
Awesome Kubert cover for just shy of $23k, seemed high but great cover.
So-so Shadow splash for $4k, seemed strong
Schulz Peanuts daily for $36k, seemed about right for a CB/Snoopy from 1956
Decent Byrne's Superman for $3k, seemed cheap
Weird-Ohs recreation, no idea what they would go for but $4320
Archie Pep cover from 1952, $26.4k. seemed strong
Spy vs Spy, about right at $3840
Hulk panel at $5280, seemed strong but this material seems to be climbing

Let's not forget the tech crash of 2000. My wife worked for Merrill Lynch Investment Banking. I had Ciena and JDSU stock and was buying a house. One of the bankers she worked for rep'd JDSU and she asked if we should sell. His response was "blue chip, not going anywhere". The next day it lost 20% of its value. I dumped both stocks. Both went on to lose about 80% of their value. 2008 - 2012 was a great buying opportunity as was 2020.

So one book this time around. Someone at the Collector's Summit asked me if I would consider parting with my Diary Secrets 26. I thought about it a bit, then said "Sure!" Well he passed so I figured I would offer it here.
Diary Secrets 26 CGC 7.0 off-white to white. The book is now cracked out of the slab and is every bit as lovely as it looks in the scan. At this point it is the single highest graded. $10,000 firm.
I will include some photos of it raw later this evening.
Congrats on the sell Mr B, and an even bigger congrats to the buyer. Picture suggests the book has higher eye appeal than the 7.0 grade suggest.

Found the last two issues of Marvel Team Up I needed this weekend. Now I have the entire 150 book set plus Annuals. Three weeks ago I finally found #15 with Ghost Rider and this weekend I finished up with #24 and #27. Looking in my Excel I realized I started this journey back in 1998 with #53 because the X-Men were in it. Hit some large issue hauls over time. (Thanks Greggy and his Raffle prize in 2015! He also put me on the path to wrap up Marvel Two-In-One...)
The Completionist Curse is strong in this one... oy.
So, MTU joins my full sets of Justice League of America (and the 3 B&B's), Conan the Barbarian, original 1970's Swamp Things and other smaller runs. (Not sure X-Men 94 - 300 counts...)
Thanks for letting me share as their aren't many people who "get it" as we do here! Original What If series is in sight along with Invaders, Champions, Batman Family, etc. Unless I win the lottery, series that won't make it are adding all the X-Men Silver Age as #1 is out of my price range, World's Finest, FF... I have a number of runs in each so building on those will have to keep me content.
Congrats, quite the accomplishment. So many great covers in the run.
