  1. I have bid in and won numerous items from Hakes.  Stuff I have won includes

    1. Aurora model kits, probably around 30 kits total

    2. Original artwork (Charles Schulz Peanuts daily)

    3.  1940 Superman puzzle

I always pay via wire transfer.  Shipping has been pretty fast and their packing has been amazing.  I posted in the OA section of the boards about their most recent auction.

I don't have this book either and it's very pricey on the secondary market.

I didn't have any of these kits as an early teen,  but I do remember them in the store.  I remember seeing the store display and the Giant Insect kit.

I guess that we'll have to wait for someone who has the book to tell us what's in there vis - a - vis this kit...

I keep watching and debating buying it but yes very expensive

I find this summary to be poorly worded, so, as an Aurora collector myself, let's see if we can get to the bottom of this.  This is the information that I have but I have no idea whether or not it's definitive.  I welcome all to fill in any holes or add corrections:

    1.  This kit was issued in both Canada and the US.  In the US, it was named "The Victim" and in Canada, it was named "Dr. Deadly's Daughter".

    2.  Was the Canadian version named as a direct result of US backlash over the name "The Victim"?  If so, then it would imply that these versions were not released simultaneously.

    3. To my knowledge, there was never a Canadian version entitled "The Victim".  That being said, I have a Canadian instruction sheet that bears the title "The Victim" (no mention of "Dr. Deadly's Daughter") so that has me wondering...

    4.  The actual model kit in both versions is the same.

    5.  The Canadian version was manufactured and packaged in Canada.

Do  you have this book?  I don't but wonder if it provides more insight into the history of these kits.

I remember them as a kid when I was in grade school.  I only had the Pendulum but remember a friend bringing a couple to school.

  4. For 2024 aspirations

    Artwork:

        Romita Spiderman page

        Jack Davis page

    Comics:

A Timely book, not saying which one

Maybe a couple of GA Batman upgrades

Add a few more Spiderman’s to the collection

Pick up a bunch more Marvel Masterworks.  I snagged about 60 over 80 this year.  Retirement, here I come

    General:

Make some real progress into creating my sell pile for both comics and OA

Map out the plan to start cleaning out the collection (what to sell where)

Submit some more books to CGC before I have to take out a second on my house to cover the submission cost.
