  1. Dude...Been done...And they became Mud-Thing...For real. Yeah, a love story for the ages.....poor poor Mudman. What was the name of the bar floozie again?
  2. What an incredibly generous gift. Awesome stuff.
  3. I'm rapidly discovering that ebay.au is way behind you guys. I'm having issues with some listings - I may have to list on the USA site, and mark as 'sell internationally' whilst opting out of the GSP etc etc. Crazy. A Nipple apparently destroys the fabric of Australian society, according to ebay.au. Gumtree/Amazon may be getting the listings. Luckily I had only listed 20 odd magazines - all 'damaged' as per comic standards. The rest - well some are 40 year old mint copies. I'm sure I'll find a happy medium somewhere. I think ebay forgets it's 2014, and anything is available to anyone via the internet. I have sold lots of mens mags on Ebay so here are some things I've found work - 1) under no circumstances use the word "adult" in your title-- instant flag and they will remove your listing. 2) if you are having trouble with the regular portion of the site-- use the Everything Else portion of ebay that is restricted to adults only. There is a section there for, well, everything-- but more importantly the more hard core type of gent mags, porn related material, etc 3) be extremely honest in your description of even the most beat up copies of magazines-- condition is important but they are very much like us in terms of seeing value in rare stuff and accepting spine wear, creasing, tears etc -- as long as they know what they are getting and you are priced decently. 4) scans are nice but multiple pictures of the front, back, major flaws, and interior flaws are appreciated and help sell a book. ALWAYS check to make sure centerfolds or posters (is the issue complete) are present. Lots of Penthouse issues come with enormous posters inside of them that are significant to collectors. Treat a centerfold description like you would describe a cover. 5) in the cases of damaged books-- it sometimes helps to bundle several of them together -- plenty of pictures-- spread them all out for the main picture, then add at least cover pictures of the lot-- or two per picture. Again-- description is key -- you don't need to give it a grade-- give it words explaining what is good and bad about each (tight spine, gloss is lacking, foxing on front right corner --- etc) 6) be sure to put any major stars or known commodities in the title if you can-- helps the search engine. I also tend to highight anyone of note in the book in the descriptions. 7) Sometimes age isn't the big factor-- I have found CONTENT is hugely important (porn stars, actresses, raunchy, big boobs etc sell for more than cover on more recent copies if they are in awesome shape (my 1 year subscription to SCORE magazine years ago netted me a nice profit because I took care of the books and a bidding war occurred. 8) price it to start above your rock bottom number unless you are ok with it taking some time to sell. It is a large number of books out there for certain types-- kind of the reason the obscure titles are bringing in more money as well. 90's Playboys are hard to sell -- major glut. But 2000 + Playboys move pretty fast. Anyway-- hope this was useful. I found this to be true while peddling my dad's old porn stash along with my own newer books as I tried to clean out my house before the move. I may be a little over the top in how much effort I put into my listings-- but buyers seem to be drawn to people who take the time to accurately reflect the item versus major mag retailers who tend to do the bare minimum. I can assure you I listed as I would a comic - you are right - the word "adult" set alarms whistling everywhere. For now, they have been re-instated - goodness knows why.... I listed the ones with flaws - I'll see what happens before I list the others and in what venue. Thanks for the detailed info though - really nice of you to take the time. I appreciated it. (thumbs u

  5. Zombie evolution - like the 'super-crossed' They eat, talk and feel pain. They will be voting for each other by issue #170
  6. Amazing how they are staying on the wall stuck on the side like that….. I'm in Australia - you are at 90 degrees in the states...
  7. Then these - 'R' rated drive-in movie posters. These are from a little town, south-east of Melbourne, called Colac. This place shuts nowadays at 9pm, so back in the 1970's, it shut at literally 6pm, when the store closed! To have a drive-In showing hard-core porn in the bush, 40+ years ago is mindblowing! The first is "Lipstick" ,and in poor condition There are a few around, and it's not worth much but the other 2 are rare, as the films are unheard of pretty much. "Forbidden Passions" And my favourite - "The language of love" On the poster - "R" rated - admission prohibited for those over 6 and under 18" so, in Australia, it's OK to bring your 5 year old to a hard-core porn film at the drive in!! And that, as they say, is that. Thanks for reading!
  8. Then a nice result. Over 80 "Club International" magazines from 1970's - 1980's Including Volume #1 - no's #1 - #4 Yup, first ever 'Club International' - all in very good/excellent condition. Over 80 all up. I'll put the pic in spoilers, nothing too rude, just a bottom showing, but NSFW just in case. I had a good look on ebay, and expect to do very well on these. However, if someone has an idea of the value of a #1 magazine, I would welcome the input.
  9. A selection of Australian reprints/originals: A Superman Annual with a story from each character featured on the cover (Murray late 1970's) Dracula #1 with poster intact (Newton 1970's) ASM #204 + #205 (Yaffa) 1st Cloak and Dagger, origin Hellcat and a cool X-Men #4 with an X-Men #1 homage to the all-new X-Men - 3 X-men stories inside (All 3 are Federal Comics) Interesting lot.
  10. These Disney glasses - actual glass - total of 30. Some promotion I'd guess, but for what, no idea.....
  11. So as some of you know, I went to an auction viewing - it turned out to be the actual night - so just as well I went. There were lots of Gentlemens mags, so after a thread on here, and looking on the bay - off I went. The auction house was on the far eastern edge of Melbourne - and 'Auction House' was probably a bit grand tbh. A brick and tin garage would be more appropriate, but there were 400+ lots, and a smallish crowd, so myself and the wife settled in on very uncomfortable "we can't sell them" junk seats. First lot I was interested in, out bid quickly, and passed. I had just fallen for the oldest trick in the book, as I found out loading the car later. I was parked next to the guy who won that lot, and he was looking a bit sheepishly at me (he had won quite a few Gents mag lots) - and I got the 'look' straight away. "You were here earlier and sorted the box mate, didn't you" "yeah, sorry" And sure enough, at the bottom of a very large box of Penthouse, and Australian Penthouse , were duplicate mint issues of: Linda Blair Bo Derek (28 page Australian exclusive shoot) Danni Minogue Virginia Hey (Farscape and Mad Max) Giga Edgley (Farscape) Each sell for at least $20 - and these were mint. I just grinned - nothing else to do, my fault for not looking properly...... There were lots of magazines I had never heard of - Chevalier, Swank, Men, Cherie, all in very good condition from the 1960's and 1970's - and even though these were small lots (less than 10 magazines) they went into the $200 - $300 range in a couple of bids. I did win some stuff - up next.
  12. Article suggests end of season 5 beginning season 6. That's impossible as Kirkman has said negan is "years" away - and they have to both be around the same time (Jesus and Ezekiel). Another teaser. Will they drop the F bomb in season 5 now - I wonder if this 'leak' was a test to guage reaction to more 'adult' language?
  13. Bought a savage She-Hulk #1, paid straight away, and was a pleasure to talk to. Recommended buyer.
  14. PM me your details and its yours.
  15. I don't, for one second Andrew, think you are the, "krap, I missed a deal" type of boardie - and "I'm going to moan about it." You aren't that kind of guy - in fact, I would go to far as to say you are one of the most level-headed members of this forum. My major point - and it's the pertinent point, is that neither seller or buyer is in this thread complaining. Spidey was pissed out of his mind. He offered a book at 30% off - you were just slower than the 1st guy. That my only point. It's not aimed at you, Spidey or the buyer. It is what it is. This was a once or twice a year event of a boardie with a nice book, drunk as a lord, giving it away for a huge discount. Congrats to the buyer. Maybe, it will be you next time. Maybe not. It certainly doesn't need a committee to discuss it. My post goes no deeper than that.
  16. You seem a really genuine , nice guy with no ego to rub, or attention seeking attributes, so I feel I can say this, and you will take it the right way. Committee's? Line decisions? 99.9% of sales pass of without incident. Piling more and more rules on top of rules - decided by people who just have to be on the 'top-table committee' just complicates things. This last scenario came about because the guy was steaming drunk when he sold his book well below the perceived market value. He was happy with the price, and went through with the deal. This seems to be more about the one's that didn't post the unconditional before the one stating "pending scans". People have been posting the 'pending' option pretty much everytime someone posts and can't put pics up for a few hours - and always because the book is cheap. We don't need any more rules, and we certainly don't need an unelected committee to decide what is best for everyone else. Besides, if I'm being brutally honest, the 'invite by PM' forum has a sales market which will grow quite quickly as more and more boardies head over there. Plus Mr Borocks, if he decides to have one on his. Why can't it just be left as is, and deal with any individual problems that may occur. As usual, neither buyer or seller of the book in question is on this thread complaining about anything, so why does anyone else have to be involved? Like I said Jay, you seem a really nice guy, and this isn't aimed at you in any way, but if it ain't really broke, do we need unelected committee's to fix imaginary breakages?
  17. Feel free to take it Sir! I appreciate it! I want to leave it though, hopefully for someone new to the thread that has never claimed anything. That's really kind of you - but if no-one takes it soon, please feel free and step in.
  18. How could that possibly fail.....
  19. Yeah, but why was it so bad? I mean you've been panning it (geddit) for months!
  20. Funny enough, after our anniversary dinner tonight my wife wanted to go to Half Proced Books, and I saw then bought a Marvel Premier 31. For some strange reason, after joining the forums I can't help but buy Woodgods whenever I find one. Got 3-4 of them already. My constant Woodgod harping is shooting up GPA on this book! I immediately thought of this thread when I saw it. Wife asked me what the hell is a Woodgod. I told her, she was not impressed. What is the gpa, $18? Well perhaps you can tell me - what is Woodgod?
