I had to turn off half way through ep 2 - not my thing. It was like they were trying to pay homage to the 60's and 70's shows on TV. Shaft, Persuaders, The Avengers (Steed etc) + 60's sci-fi shows etc Even the 'Time Tunnel' theme got a run out. I don't think it knew what it wanted to be.

I've been after a run for 9 years now. Torchy #1 - #6 plus her 1st app in 9.0+ I missed Cheetah selling his, and being in Australia, there isn't the 'network' of contacts to find these books. After much searching, advertising and in some cases grovelling - I have managed to get Torchy #2 , #3 and #4 in 9.0 and above. After following the sound advice from Jimbo, I placed my bid, went to work and had a laptop open on top of the ventilator in my theatre watching the auction live (and working honest guv!) I'm now the proud owner of Doll-Man Quarterly #8 - the 1st app of Torchy, Promise Collection CGC 9.2 - and for waaay less than I imagined! 4 down - 3 to go! Probably be another 9 years, but the hope continues!

A week to go here - not much advertising except on a few buses. May add another $5 mil to the total from Australia. What do super-hero movies usually take in Aus / NZ Bosco? @Bosco685 Is this not showing in China either?

Just a thought.... Could the Black Knight introduction continue on into the Next Ant-Man / Avengers movie phases? No spoilers here as its all in the comics. Dane sees The info however comes from Nathan Garrett - SA Black Knight - who is killed by Iron Man in Avengers #48. He was also one of the main bad-guys of Giant-Man and The Wasp. The masters of evil were connected to FF and Dr Doom - of which NG was part of the MOE roster. Is it possible that the Death of NG could be used to show us the new actor for Iron Man, and Dane, as the new BK joins the new Iron Man, Giant-Man, The Wasp as the 'New Avengers' - and as a gateway for the X-Men to join the MCU with the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver (Evan Peters PLEASE!!) making up the new Avengers team This ensures continuity for the Black Knight, the partial introduction of X-Men, the beginning of the 'new' Avengers roster - and an easy transition into the Fantastic Four. With standalone Thor and Hulk movies planned - this would make sense - and the Eternals link in with Dane and Sersi. The MCU needs a way to tie in the FF and X-men, plus continue Black Knight and Eternals - so this may be the way - use Nathan Garrett as the way to link them, especially if they use the masters of evil to bring in new 'baddies'. So Masters of Evil features SA BK + Dr Doom (cameo maybe - Marvels ultimate alliance) - new Iron (actor) Man kills BK - introduces new Iron Man, Dane sees this, NG tells Dane what to do - joins the Avengers - add 2 mutants SW and Q - there's the new Avengers team. Dr Doom already has a cameo - sets scene for Fantastic Four to help Avengers battle the Marvel Ultimate Alliance Masters Of Evil team (of which there were many!) - but some already have been on screen or are about to: Bullseye, Dr Doom, Titania, Enchantress, The Lizard, Rhino, Tiger Shark etc etc. This could be built up over 7 - 8 movies and be as epic as the Thanos films. And it could be made a lot simpler than the way I've done it!

Nope, I'm telling you no-one has found them in 11 months. They have been 'mislaid' - I have 4 books from 3 invoices go missing after submission. Joey is expecting news on Monday - seems someone may have 'found them' - possibly.

Now perhaps you could sort out the books coming back damaged, the holders with chips, the absurd time it takes you to grade a book - and maybe hire some more QC guys, because the ones you have suck. Oh, and If you happen to find an ASM Annual #1, Heavy Metal #1, Wonder Woman #23 or MSS #16 in the staff room, or gents toilets, would you mind being a sport and actually grade them and send them back? That would be nice as the first book has been lost for a couple of months, and the other 3 approaching 10 - 11 months. If you could, that would be awfully nice of you.

The markets red-hot right now. If you have 100% had enough - sell up. With the books you have, even in mid-grade, you could set your kids up in their own home, or if you are financially solid - travel for years. Whatever floats your boat - you are sitting on so much money, that its nuts to keep what, $250,000 - $500,000 in boxes? Maybe much more if they are high grade. I'd grab a GPA sub for a month, add up what you have, and go from there. You could have god knows how much. Put it this way - I just looked up ASM #1 - #10 on GPA - I used a 5.0 grade for each. At 5.0 you are looking at over $40,000 for those books alone. If the love has gone man - use the money for something else. And good luck to you.

Regardless of wether they SHOULD have slabbed it - fact is, they did. I hope you are pushing for compensation for the damage. CGC could have said 'sorry no' - but they went ahead, so it's on them.

Terrible movie The Spirit was the most dreadful movie I have ever seen. Unwatchable, pointless, stupid and with terrible, terrible acting. Seriously - the FBI should use it for interrogation methods - nobody on Earth could stand more than 20 minutes. Even worse than 'Crawl' The Spirit is the only movie that deserves a 0 / 10 Abject.

Bending the rules here as not comic related... Without doubt the best film I have seen this year - utterly compelling. Jake Gyllenhaal is brilliant. It deserves to be seen by more people - on Netflix

Thanks guys - the book I'm after isn't a 'mainstream' type book, but is one that if you are collecting the run, then it's highly unlikely to show up in high-grade again. Most of the run change hands privately, so its hard to get them all in the grades I'm after - I'm at 50% of them after quite some time. Feels like a fools errand - and then I get a break. I'll bid before I go to sleep, not sleep, and then get up and fret. There have been 2 sales in my desired grade range in the last 2 decades. I have zero idea what the end price could be, so I doubt I have a chance. I have not picked a good run to collect!

Sorry for such inane questions - but being in Australia the time difference means its the middle of the night / very early morning - not the best time to be bidding on a grail!
