  1. Yet again in some countries it will be on a different channel. In Australia its on 'Binge' The cost of watching favourite shows is becoming silly The Boys on Amazon Y on Binge Marvel on Netflix and Disney+ Even 'In the Line Of Duty' ended up on 'Britbox' I'd love to watch it, but really can't be bothered to sign up to yet another channel for 1 show. The expense of those above is about $150 per month here. Too much.
  2. We are the most locked down major city on the planet. We are approaching 9 months out of the last 12. With a whole 225 cases today.... Police and ADF (army) enforced curfew 9pm - 5am No travel of more than 5kms (unless working or going to medical appt) 2 hrs for exercise Masks mandatory outdoors 1 DESIGNATED visitor (nobody else - just the same person) We are sheep - and given away all freedom on the word of one man - Daniel 'dictator' Andrew - state premier. All gyms, pubs, clubs, hair salons, restaurant, cinemas and sporting venues - CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE People are broke, businesses are failing all over the joint, self harm and teenage suicides at record high levels Oh - and beaches are closed unless only 2 of you go - mearing masks and living within 5kms of the beach...... What a compliant, pathetic bunch we are here in Melbourne - all civil liberties, so hard won, and so easily discarded. I'm double vaccinated, and get no extra benefit at all. I, and many others, have simply given up any hope of this ending.

  4. As a complete outsider - I don't know anyone involved, and I have no interest in the Video game market, and even less knowledge. I would say that qualifies me as an 'independent outsider' , oui? So as an independent outsider, my concern is that clearly some of the MSM who were involved in the original promotion of this company and game, and who took all the info at face value, are now going to be revisiting this sale, and the players involved. MSM, for all it's many, many faults, don't like to be made fools of, and certainly not be innocently complicit in promoting something that more and more outlets are leaning towards the 'does not pass the smell test' camp. I worry that Heritage will be compromised beyond repair IF similar shenanigans are exposed as brutally (as this one APPEARS to be) in Comic and Comic OA record sales. The MSM are seemingly being drawn towards this story, as sharks are to chum in the sea. I hope for the best, but fear...you know the rest. I hope the records sales can be shown to be genuine, and that Comics, on the whole, actually are gaining as Heritage's sales would suggest - not a 'quasi-ponzi' scheme where the circle of selling between the same involved parties can be proven. If corruption can be shown in a significant number of sales, then there could be a major market correction before stability prevails, and a lot of people could be burned, especially the new or uninformed. I welcome a 'correction' but not at the expense of new comic collectors / first time buyers. And yes they DO exist Looking at the "Promise" collection, I admit to being more than a little concerned. With the increasingly incestuous relationship between Heritage, Rally Rd, CGC, Pawn Stars and gaming companies et al being revealed like the skins of an onion, it's hard to see how the mind-bogglingly absurd over-grading on some of the books would be overlooked by people investigating this alleged scam. Maybe Halperin will have to fall on his sword to calm the gathering MSM who are sharpening pitchforks as we speak. This cannot, and seemingly will not be swept under the carpet. FWIW - I have used Heritage once, and the transactions were conducted professionally and in a timely fashion. I have no complaints personally. NOTE: No allegations are being made by me towards any board members or outside persons - I don't know any of them, or have any additional info regarding the protagonists so to do so would be wrong. The conviction of Jim Halperin however is of public record, and very hard to overlook
  5. I reckon it's time for Captain Savage and his Leatherneck Raiders to appear. I reckon Marvel should do a good old fashioned war movie. Last good one was that Brad Pitt film 'Fury' back in 2014. Still a market for them - GI Jane, Fury, Private Ryan etc etc
  6. I hope Marvel hold off for a bit, seeing as I have an ASM Annual #1 which I hope will be an 8.5 minimum sitting at CGC. About a year would do - it might be done by then..... These TAT's are ridiculous currently, so the longer the Sinister Six can wait to be seen, the better!
  7. Daytripper #1 Only 5 on census. Same guy that did Umbrella Academy. Terrific book.
  8. A lot of 'hot' books are cooling quickly, whilst blue chip books continue the cycle of hot/cold. AF #15 was dead 12 months ago, according to some - $42K for a 3.5, $30K for a 2.5 and $24K for a 0.5 (WTF??) suggest otherwise. So now X-Men #1 is having a cooling off. It happens. Blue-Chip books are safe. Movie Books - not so much. Mephisto anyone? Incidentally - Walking Dead #1 in 9.8 has taken an surprising downward trend - I thought $4K was a bit strong (the $5K one was an outlier) - but 3 shows (admittedly one ruined, one very average, and one totally ) , a really great comic - (at least for the first half), and not ever on free-to-air TV, would make it a solid $3,500 book. It should be anyway IMHO. Now $2.5k. Any reason? A good time to buy?
  9. Supply demand. Price went up - market flooded. 9.8's are just stabilising and are just creeping up ever so slightly. 9.6 + 9.4 are still sliding. People will stop listing, and off we go again. I know there are a lot slabbed, but when a live action MM movie gets done - these prices will be cheap ( and yes I do have some for open disclosure)
  10. And the name of this store and his presser are? Name them both - others may have been in the same boat.
  11. No dog in this race - but a bit confused? He's paid for 18 and you sent 15? You have 12 left, and he has already paid for 3 of them. So you are asking for PL unless he pays for the outstanding 9 books? If he doesn't pay, what happens to the other 3 he's already paid for? It might help, if you clarify this please. Thanks. Or Golden Pete could just pay his bill
  12. Dylan, Dylan, Dylan. Young man, trying to attack Adam / Danielle in a place where many of us have dealt with both of them, and been amazed at their quality of books and helpfulness with time payments etc is the wrong move. Look at yourself. Then let go of this petty grudge, and improve your own business. Because compared to Filter81 - you aren't in the same universe. PS: Hi to Dylans Dad. Your son needs a good paddlin'
  13. Upon reflection, both you and Jeffro are right - it should be up to the buyer to decide which threads to spend their money in, and upon the seller to decide in which fashion they choose to sell their items.
  14. Can we have a page number limit on sales threads? How hard is it to close one after say 10 pages and start another? Some go for 30, 40, 50 ,60+ pages. I buy books, but I really can't be bothered to go through all those pages to see whats sold or not, or look at an update list on page 37, and find the book on page 19, and it isn't what I'm looking for. I know I'm not the only one who thinks this. Easier for buyers to see the books, easier for sellers to keep the thread organised. I, and quite a few others, just skip long existing sales threads. 10 pages is reasonable, surely?
  15. Nope, someones going to have to explain this one.
  16. lottevpinge0 'I read the book, and didn't like it, so can I send it back please' Instant ebay approval - I just refunded, and couldn't be arsed to fight it. Funnily enough, she was happy to keep the book after all.... keranwin23 Has 'issues' up top - avoid at all costs, unless you want walls of text every 15 minutes. Another who wanted a partial - this time I called their bluff, and no return was lodged. It must be silly season on ebay. Here's the whole list of my blocked buyers. I don't need a comment from the usual person. 1166137070@deleted, 1180545136@deleted, 1375174917@deleted, 13naturelover, 1437582553@deleted, 1814171652@deleted, 1995558519@deleted, 1seasalt1, 617jtv, 84naomi84, 8derek, 9976lee, aalrd26, abcauto-industry, abplonsker, acharch81, acmein, actionfigure44collector, adriansmith1964, ala-newma, alfara_4268, alister55, allisnotlost, amanda2038, ampcom_services, ausai67, aussiegamerdan, b3nr4m4, bargaindvds_au, beatlebluecat, benitmazzarell0, benni-cortina, bilbet2008, blackboxcomics, blends33s, bobbyvjohnson, bogannextdoor, bondcollectibles, boogie-man83, booksellerau, bornbr3, borod-pavel, bpebfr, bratzelkopp, bright4bay, britdon_5141, broke_ass, brokenhillrecords, bronto1, buyingboeing, buzz-n-woody-present_yodas-jedi-treasure_anakins-sith-stash, calm-mix, carnavoncthon, carola.b, carolyhann12, cartelkarina, casinoman1948, cass_hea, cathannp0, cfd-315, charlottemercy, chrialt-58, chrilahar_0, claritaspecial, clowns.are.evil, comicbookcorner, comicbookmatrix, comictalk.usa, comixdaily, coolstuff4u3, corriferro0, craigj1571, crbarnes1984, crob_666, cweedin, d2004h2013, daabb-2349, dadsvintage, danielthomasandrewdaly, danny2731, danstrade, danzoncorp78, dappoolsaver, darkuniversecomics, davirui67, davpaul60, design_closet2016, diditallforcookies, donkilumanati, donwildt, duke_0608, duncanmacloud, dwhitney1, edrosenkranz, electrobuster, er1566505, eswood7, ethadownin-8, europa33, everest_collector, fergo1123, fi_296, fish-n-toons, flatuswalrus, fordpicker78, franbevil-45, franckt2250, frecicchin-0, fredagg2, freepy1988, fulcrum250, funkyn, fycek-10, gardenvalecollectables, gavenau, gbamx007, geonicmila, giantrats88, glittergoddess25, graffismyjuice, graged66, greencougar007, greenmusicbaby, greyhoundman*123, guruverba, haymica26, hibu_34, hoyl.hann, hulkamaniac, ia.gordo, inder.m.sukh_1, infinity-danny, intric8, isharajayakody, itaketheleader, jadeodj11, jamac-46, jamesmarchington, jamieh55, jarbr5354, jaydemermaid, jeanped-53, jeff_tickle, joann-7539, joeysams2087, johmcp-7, johnk_61, johroa-55, jtl8511, jynxd01, kennethsarmstrong10, kentophile, keranwin23, kirra.s-49, kitkated, kja1964, kni-cld-szxkz4m, knight-4539, konkrete-kunst, koppy13, kse_sec_bzl6snwp, kvarsh02, laake-us2014, lamecowear, lanamei333, lauriebrown7, leoke-74, leonalily, liamobrien1989, limitlessvisions, lottevpinge0, lrp10719, luganther, lxldamolxl, lysafow0, m.atrix, majorpain_123, malcstar_5, marchr_lvnxxj8ge1, marcus_9337, mariogoku, marksmancomics, markyjmark88, markymark2012eb, marvelanddccomics, matthepitarell0, maxwaspking, med_6154, melissad94, mick0444, mikegr1michael, moma9227, mrqueen122, mteverest92, mulligantom, murdoch446, myhy37, natalie38-81, nathancole1988, newbalance2007, nicktopakas, nicola10982013, norrinraddical, odinscourt, offen-29, oliansell-0, oliansell-30, ospahi7, ozen3, p-e-a-c-h-e-s, paglo_83, pandzar, paolo17, papanos2012, patricglyn-86, paulpissedoff, pbabarke-6339, pehunt1-3, peterkuschel, pewter4144, phillihal-3, pinkbitsrule, pirub-ru-skur7b5yfc, pontifff, popculturecollect, popcultureexperts, potatorace, powerfan88, powermike9000, props-wardrobe-tv, pxlp2280, qe-588, qe9068, qoky_23, rafal_7700, rafielgrayson, ragnarok13, rare_stuff87, rayb214, rdhayalan, reevem123, reqfru, retro.rescue, rhi281993, rhysandsimone, riccam9124, ritchiet-37, robhoo_12, robro.s.mk9zboxvr, roggiet, rohe_6758, ross6868, ryno2342, samun21, sange62, sc_melb, scrapdogs, sebea-45, seema35, sevensaiyans, sgra1620, shargoodwi0, shawn_low, shel0347, siobhanellis, sky5805, skyfutura, slave2degrind, smartwaymatt12, spar1952, speidred, stephen42, stepo-728304, stevejudovsk_0, stevemango0, stevevit2005, stimpymingus, suga3free, surdrechri, syahrockstar, tazzmarriner, tedsmemorabilia, thanos-47, the_gatemaster, thecomicbookscorner, thefarmerboy88, thegonzomemoirs, thegoodthebadandtheuglyjack, thehouseofcool, thepoint5, timelord.doctor, tonich-3766, toodogs04, tore12m, tracey_shaun, transportconnection, travisinoz, tree_ox, trip_d, troyzer83, trucker521, truekillerbunny, vanillacactus101, vintagemagazinesforsale, wackypackages-88, wasche1982, wayne333444, wheetleymoon, why_wait_til_the_last_minute, williajud29, wizardmasters, wmdae13, wombi-2016, x..1..x, xanmad_33, xanton84, xpowerringx, yianni1961, zepmaster, zombiejez All either did not pay, offered ridiculous lowballs, wanted off-ebay transactions, couldn't be bothered to read listing info then moaned about stuff that was IN the listing info (usually how to combine postage) or just acted like a pain in the backside. 18. He did this 2 yrs ago - nowhere near the price he is asking now (or the price being charged I should say). The book cost about the same as being asked for just his sig now. A comparable book would cost what? Triple now when you add cost of book, pressing if needed, postage etc? I bought this as I like Cheadles work way before Marvel Movies. Gal Gadot however is just a marvel manufactured 'star' (as pretty as she is - she's not much of an actress IMHO) - she will struggle to get work when she ages, as she, like Shatner, Ferrigno, Frakes etc are 'typecast' by their main role. Which book would anyone get her to sign anyway - can't see any All-Star #8 heading in! Maybe Wonder Woman #1 from the 1987 run? Why Gadot? Thousands of drooling basement dwelling fanboys to make this a $$$$ bonanza - that's Blackstone / Rock or whatever they are called - that's their thought processes. All comic collectors are nerds who live with mommy. If that's the way they think, then I'm not sure they actually grasp the market. Genuine comic collectors are mainstream now, quite savvy, and not likely to easily part with stupid money for a pretty face. Or extra for Gadot writing "Wonder Woman". If this is indeed the thinking of our new overlords, then its a pretty antiquated one. Her career as Wonder Woman most certainly has a fast approaching end date as she is 36. But $610 for essentially just a pretty face to sign on a comic is obscene. Especially a pretty face with reputedly a $32 million income last year alone. She clearly doesn't need the money, so you would have to wonder why she's even doing this? Even at $400 to Gadot personally, unless it's going to be auto-penned (which may well be the case - hence to huge mark up for 'wonder woman') - then the hassle of 1000 sigs to earn basically what she earns in 4 days for doing nothing ($32 mill divided by 365 days) - makes no sense. Sadly, I believe the sigs will be auto-penned in different positions. Hence the huge fee for personalisation. Even then - will it even be Gadot that does it? These 'private' signings are just to easy to manipulate. At least at a Con, you see it in person.
  19. Yeah - advertised as a 9.2 (along with another book as 9.8) - pics weren't great (but price was ok if grades worked out). The 9.8 was an 7.0 at best - huge CBCs across the cover. Not visible in pics, as the book was angled just enough to hide them. I always use paypal, in case of things like this, as this wasn't an ebay purchase. He would not refund despite being shown the damage - and all of a sudden his grading improved, quoting prices for 7.5 books, and lower grades on the other, and how it was still a good deal. Not much feedback when I found him on ebay - except on Funkos with unverified sigs. Which were odd, as the sigs were from people who I wouldn't expect to see in Australia. No COAs on any though. Too many red flags, refusing to refund until he got books back (which was reasonable I guess, but I paid before getting books as private sale from Gumtree, so reciprication would have been nice) - then started quoting prices like an expert on different grades. Couldn't be bothered to argue about a few $$$ here and there and things were starting to feel a bit sketchy so went the safe route. Opened return, seller accepted, books went back with tracking. I always pay with paypal and CC if things might go south. I initially gave him the benefit of the doubt, but the Funko's with unverified sigs, then him suddenly being an expert in grading / pricing - I think he knew what he was doing, and hoping to catch a newb. The dangers of Gumtree / Craigslist I guess - and of course no inspections in person as 70% of Australia is in Police / Army enforced lockdown. Still, all sorted via paypal, so no harm done.
  20. Thanks all - opened paypal case - it's on its way back to seller.
  21. It seems nicer in hand - I think its just slightly faded, not foxing. My scanner does the whites not favours. There is an advert fitting that shape on the other side back page. It doesn't show as faded in normal light. I had it at about a 8.5 / 9.0 I bought it as a 9.0 / 9.2 but am 50 / 50 wether to send it back to seller.
  22. Thoughts peeps - cbc at top left is a break, no danger of it falling off. Thanks Chaps and Ladies
  23. This guy - just because of the judicious use of the snipping tool to hide the actual edges of his books. And yet people still buy. https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/omd2/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
