  1. It's a supply /demand issue Book hit $3500 - hundreds of copies appeared over the next 4 weeks. All buyers have bought - prices dropped. Sellers will withdraw their books creating a shortfall - then prices go back up 10,000 UF#4 on census in various grades - Miles will be huge, and this is probably the wrong book to base a 'fall' on tbh. Book has a long way to go - maybe in a year, maybe in 5, but it will go up quite some way. It's the mid-grade minor keys that will get hammered - like that DD#3 floating around in this thread
  2. Enjoyable family-friendly show with good tunes. The series is over for good - no Season 5 Enjoyable way to spend a quiet wet and windy day in front of the screen.
  3. Season 4 just dropped for Black Lightning fans!
  4. Zatanna? Doorway to nightmare #1 has done a disappearing trick from ebay! Another spec book frenzy. Hawkman #4 should get yet another bump.... The door for a return of John Constantine opens hopefully - plus a real person JLA Dark at last...
  5. Thanks for the reply. It seems it's just pot luck then? I understand completely - on this very thread (a few years back mind you !) I was the only bidder at a contents auction when a tenant did a runner. They did it complete room by room. I was the only bidder at $200 for a 3000 comic collection (roughly) - GSX #1 was in it Another time $700 for pretty much sight unseen pile of boxes - Hawkman #4 + Bats #227 + #381 etc - I think I got 25 9.8 DC 'keys' out of it. The pics are on here somewhere. Both financially good. And a few for my keeper collection. It's good to see a 'regular' on this thread get a great result. Those days seem to be gone now, as everyone is aware of the value in comics. Congrats again!
  6. I think we will see more growth on the back of this investment interest - be it by private citizen or investors. But on books not with already ludicrously inflated prices. At some point the fall WILL happen. I'd imagine 'solid' Key books will fare reasonably well - probably still being higher than say, prices of 18 months ago. Spec books will follow their usual trend. Minor Keys, well, they are going to get hit hard. Very hard. It could be a rough 2-3 years coming up, with some people potentially sustaining heavy financial losses. It certainly is a time of "buyer beware". ASM #300 already showing the effects: ASM #101 to follow? ASM #300 at $8800 for a 9.8 and ASM #101 at $24K in 9.8 would seem to be ones to that are at too high a price to be sustainable (amongst many). It may be interesting to see if #101 follows #300. Certainly I'd be selling ASM #300 asap - an example of an obviously way over-valued book. I leave you with this one - I'm sure you have already seen it: $264,000 anyone for Ghost Rider? Anyone? It's not rare, its not high grade. Insanity. They were here on the boards for 15% of that 12 months ago. Hopefully DC gets dragged up with it......
  8. Yeah so S6 ended. This guy says it so much better.... https://diabolical.substack.com/p/51-thoughts-i-had-while-watching I can't believe the people involved in this drek actually made The Shawshank Redemption. Get.Some.New.Writers.
  9. For a foreigner - how do these estate sales work? On one hand you have the insanely good scores for $3 each - and in others people are in a queue for 4 hours only to find the best books (or all the books) are gone for big bucks. It doesn't seem very equal. That's ridiculously good. There are some high value books in that lot for $3? (ASM #129 Cap #117 etc) - did no-one check ebay? If I was the vendor, I'd be royally pee'd off that valuable books were being given away. If those books are an average of FN / VFN - there's what? $8,000 worth? Great for you, but terrible for the vendor. Anyway - many congrats - that's a wonderful score - what did you leave behind?
  10. There's at least one University in Melbourne doing it. They bought a slabbed key from me.
  11. Well, just finished. That was the best Zombie Season I've watched - inc TWD Ep #1 10/10 Ep #2 10/10 Ep #3 10/10 Ep #4 10/10 Ep #5 - slow, but necessary 6/10 Ep #6 - 8/10 Ep #7 - 9/10 Ep #8 10/10 Frenetic, all action apocalyptic end of days stuff. The door is slightly ajar for another season - but heck, do yourself a favour if you like Zombie shows, and watch this. Best viewed in a complete binge. Top Stuff!
  12. Thanks to the good lady wife - I now have this. She saw a guy giving it to a salvage yard - asked for it, and the guy said she could have it. She also got the card inserts made up for the top - which she had welded together again. Not an old one, but does the job, and I'm very happy!
  13. Episode 1 was brilliant - right up there with 28 days later and dawn of the dead remake 10/10 incredible stuff!
  14. Black Summer Season 2 has dropped. S1 was great, and season 2 starts with a bang! Great splatter action, mindless viewing. Snacks and drink of choice recommended Enjoy!
  15. Great - except for the last episode. All the 'feelings' stuff ruined it. Could have all been tied up in the episode before. Besides that - top class show.
  16. Jesus wept, this was terrible. Thank god I only saw it on Netflix. Utter garbage.
  17. Superman #1 Batman #1 Superboy #1 should be an easy sale? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/224496991984?hash=item3445103ef0:g:jrEAAOSwxCxgxrfd
  18. Thanks - was $235 Australian, so about $170 give or take a buck or three. Guy was moving house - needed room.
  19. TTA #44 + #52 showing upward movement. #44 recouping lost ground and going up #52 selling at new GPA highs in most grades on the back of a $4K 9.6 sale.
  20. Great Run of DC Graphic Novel - about 80 of them for $170 USD Slow sellers, but they DO sell. Which is nice as stock is getting harder and harder to find.
  21. Good ending sets up Season 3 nicely - hopefully there will be a shorter gap between seasons
  22. ......is now on Netflix. Thor in a small Norwegian Town vs the Ice Giants - set in modern day. We now meet his allies - or are they? Ep 1 of season 2 is Freya, and #2 is Loki - no surprises, but really good value all the same. Each ep unmasks the heroes and bad guys, who are nurses, mechanics, teachers etc - all in the wintery wilds of the Town of Edda You MUST watch season #1 though, or you will be bemused. Good stuff.
  23. Watched first 2 eps and am enjoying it. Never read the comic - was going to - but never found the time. Get the feeling there will be need for a still upper lip by the end though.....
