You think you have problems... Joey at CFP dropped off (YES CGC - DROPPED THEM OFF) 20 books including a high-grade ASM Annual #1 which is at least an 8.5 CGC now say they recieved them, BUT CANT FIND THEM. How the holy heck do you lose 20 books inc a $15,000 book when they were HAND-DELIVERED and ENTERED INTO THE SYSTEM They have been lost for a month @dena Any chance of looking for the missing books - its not like Joey only drops off one or two a year Absolutely abysmal.

Absolutely - has the potential to be anything. If somebody threw serious coin at a series of movies - it could be a massive hit. I could totally dig a 6 season series as well - who to cast as Darrow (would have to be different actors - one for the Helldiver, one for the Gold) and Sevro though? They need to get those 2 spot on.

I read the expanse - so much better than the TV show. If people liked the Show - well the books are so,so,so much better. I can't see how they can finish the TV show in one season with all they have left (and after missing 75% of the books out of the show!) The only TV improvement was Drummer - although she had absolutely nothing in common with the Drummer in the book! Same with Game Of Thrones - the books were much better, and so different from the show...still waiting on Winds Of Winter. I'm on the Jack Reacher books now - no need to engage brain, just a simple read, but fun. I'll give Rivers Of London a search at my local library. Thanks!

Needs to be aimed at Adults and not an under 13's woke fest. Yes Y-The Last Man, I'm looking at you. It was a great show - new actors, better SFX and a decent budget - what's not to like if its done with respect to the original storylines. Plus the odd cameo from surviving actors. I'm in!

I stumbled upon a Graphic Novel - Sons Of Ares by Pierce Brown, based on his books. I grabbed all 5 from the library - the Red Rising trilogy , Iron Gold and Dark Age - and they are bloody great. Very much Game Of Thrones meets Star Wars. Anyone else read them? The last one - The LightBringer is out early next year. Brown attends Comic-Cons, and has written some Star Wars Comics (I think) - so this is comic related! Highly recommended series. So - anymore good book series anyone can recommend?

Is this worth anything? Issue #2 from 1939. Have about 8 of these larger pulps from 1930's / 1940's All beat to hell, but covers are still hanging on, and pulps are complete. -
Are prices still climbing or have they eased up a bit???
Beige replied to InfantTerrible's topic in Comics General
Kinda depends on the books really. Stating the obvious to most here, but anything that is a genuine SA Marvel Key probably will only stabilise in price - I certainly don't expect any of the top 20 / 30 'top' books to plummet. Movie books will be movie books. UF #4 , Vengeance #1 etc still have room to go. I'm very bullish of UF #4 still - even when that boardie posted his pic of 200 copies of 1st print UF#4 (well played sir). Currently there are 11,000 graded by CGC, and probably as many again across at CBCS / PGX or in CGC system - but is 25 / 30,000 slabbed copies going to exceed supply when MM gets a live action debut? The post movie books will do their usual dance - drop, and slowly settle to the new norm. Some like TWD #1 go back up. Others like Preacher, Revival, and now seemingly Y-The Last Man are doing a 'Sixth-Gun' like dive. If a character has a good base / history, and a longevity about them, such as say, Conan they should be Ok (as in not lose 50%of their value in a few months). The other side of the coin are lesser characters ranging from: Mr Sinister to better known ones such as: Gambit and Deadpool But again - we know that. The concern is that the 'amateurs' and 'noobs' ,who are mainly the ones spending the ridiculous amounts of money, some of it borrowed, panic in a stampede-like fashion, and dump thousands of these books onto the market and initiate a crash. It will be great for most of us to get the 'keeper books' that seem to be absurdly expensive right now, but not so good for the short / medium term of this hobby. If you are buying keys, I guess it's time to be very, very selective. -
I may be wrong but isn't @Gotham Kid in France. His old name was PeterInParis or similar. Apologies if wrong - he might know someone who can help you. Sorry if you've moved Peter!

I said they should'nt do it, and having watched eps #1 + #2 - I'm sad to say personally I think this is garbage. Comics like Preacher and this just won't fly on TV. If you are going to do a show like Y-The Last Man, then be faithful to the original concept. If we wanted a show that exists purely to virtue signal, there are plenty of others to watch. Such a shame, as the comic was superb.

Just to note - StarTrack are Australia Post's couriers. So no parcel deliveries by the Post Office until the strike ends. Fedex have a big depot in Melbourne, so probably wise to check in USA if posting to Southern Australia
-
And today Fedex and StarTrack couriers have gone on strike in Aus. Great.

Absolutely. Why do a sequel to a great film - usually they ain't too good. Aliens is the only one that springs to mind, possibly Terminator 2. On the other hand - Blues Brothers 2000 and Grease 2. Do another character and make a series. Jonathan Crane would be epic. -

Scheduled for grading...TWO MONTHS NOW!
Beige replied to lostboys's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
January for me - I use a third party - and they always keep me in the loop, so no complaints with my submitter. Used him for many years. And will for many more I suspect. The problem with CGC is lack of infrastructure investment - graders take time - but when you trade them up, at least have the machinery to raise production numbers. I remember when onsite grading meant hauling the bloody machines to the show and back again. I hope they have fixed that issue going forwards. CGC make a fortune. Spend a bit. No wonder CBCS is getting a ton of work. Hell, even the worst grading company on the planet - yes Halo, I am talking about you - are getting heaps more books in. Am I grumpy - hell yeah. I've got $60,000 - $70,000 AUD worth of books sitting there, and I'd like them back - and of course USPS have pulled the plug on some international routes, meaning a lot of overseas books will be pilling up. -
Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
