  1. Now I wouldn't say that! Hulk smash puny Flash! Hulk smashes everyone! SC #4 will definitely be on the rise, but I don't believe it will come close to the levels of IH #1 or AF #15. It will get a nice boost if the TV show is a hit though. Hopefully not too much of a boost, I still have to buy my high grade copy! (thumbs u I'm with Dark Knight here. Love all three key books, and value wise, expect SC4 to be on par with the other two. This conversation has been had multiple times, but the crux of it in my view is SC4 - way more rare, less popular. Flash show, coupled with a big screen appearance done right will change that. Look at the cgc census data (9/21/26) High grade copies (cgc 8.5 or better) - Showcase 4 (9) - Incredible Hulk 1 (21) - Amazing Fantasy 15 (26) Total Blue/Yellow labels on the CGC census - Showcase 4 (215) - Incredible Hulk 1 (812) - Amazing Fantasy 15 (1567) Is the flash a more popular a character? no, not overall (not versus hulk or spidey, anyways). But add the rarity.........and the answer seems more clear We will see in due time Roy! All the things you just stated will definitely help SC #4, especially the rarity. However, keep in mind too that IH #1 still has room to grow and just imagine what will happen when Avengers: Age of Ultron drops next year with the Hulk having a more prominent role. Not to mention when he gets his own movie done right. Roy? What do you think all us Canadians look alike or something? Supply has to play a role here, and the numbers tell a story. I think values of Hulk 1 stagnated a bit due to the 2003/2008 lower budget productions on the big screen, then more recently allowed to flourish with the Avengers movie and then the $320K 9.2 sale. 15-20 years ago SC4 and AF15 were par on valuation......we'll probably be there soon, with Hulk1 somewhere in that same vicinity in my view. My bad Joey! :for you: I was thinking your name but type Roy's instead. I have nothing but love for my Canadian buddies! (thumbs u Yeah, that's was the point I was making also Joey about the valuation 15-20 years ago. Prior to ~1994, SC #4 was worth more than AF #15, but the 1st Spider-Man movie in 2002 helped take AF #15 to a whole new level, along with WB/DC procrastination & stagnation with the Flash character as well as the other DC heroes (excluding Bats & Supes). I think all 3 books (AF #15, IH #1 & SC #4) will be in the same ballpark, but I think only IH #1 has a chance to dethrone AF #15. I would love to see how the industry would react if that IH #1 CGC 9.4 ever hit the auction scene or a potential 9.6 covert copy comes out of hiding. We might have a coup brewing!

Not to mention when he gets his own movie done right. If there are two SA books that can contend with AF #15, it is definitely IH #1 & SC #4 with FF #1 also in the mix. Showcase #4 had its chance to reign supreme 15-20 years ago and WB/DC didn't capitalize on the Flash's popularity then and now it has a lot of ground to cover. I wish SC #4 all the best though, but not until I obtain my high grade copy! I just don't have confidence in WB/DC silver screen adaptations and they have a ways to go to compete with Marvel in that aspect. I hope they can pull it off though, that will keep the 'rivalry' interesting to say the least. (thumbs u

  5. It definitely does indicate scarcity/rarity to me, but those numbers may be irrelevant to most collectors. Some things that can be factors on what collectors/buyers consider: 1. Demand - IH #1 is definitely in more demand than SC #4, but not by too much. Both the Hulk & the Flash are well known characters, but I believe the Hulk has more iconic status. Both books are very hard to find regardless, especially high grade copies. 2. Investment Potential - IH #1 has shown it's FMV potential with the high dollar recent sales. Showcase #4 FMV will increase as well, but I don't think it will surpass IH #1 value status. It would definitely make things interesting if more of both books in high grade come to market. 3. True 1st Appearance/Origin - While IH #1 is the 1st appearance/origin of the Incredible Hulk, SC #4 is not he 1st appearance/origin of the Flash or the first speedster in comics. Though SC #4 is the book many feel spearheaded the SA including myself, this was one of the main reasons that helped me decide between my purchase of an IH #1 CGC 8.0 and a SC #4 CGC 8.0. 4. Perception - Many collectors seem to gravitate more towards high grade Marvel keys than their DC/WB counterparts. I think this has to do with the recent success of Marvel live action movies and their willingness to promote an amalgam of their heroes, while DC/WB only really focuses on Batman & Superman for the better part of 30+ years. Thank goodness this is going to change. (thumbs u 5. Collection - How much do I want to add either of these books to my collection and in what grade? My grade cutoff for SA books is 8.0, unless the book is too hard to find then I will settle for what I can get. I love the Hulk more than I do the Flash, but still want to add a nice high grade SC #4 to my collection. I have my sights on one copy in particular, but just need to save more coinage, so stay tuned! This is just a few things I look at when referring/comparing to these two mega key SA books.
  6. Except when the Marvel chipping pertains to certain mega keys. Jay must've forgot the recent IH #1 CGC 9.0 that sold for 175K! I didn't forget. The bigger the key the harder it is to find, the less other "cosmetic" issues seem to matter. That's what I mean when I say the supply and demand within the market will naturally always have the final say. (thumbs u -J. Cool Beans! (thumbs u I'm glad that you clarified things buddy!

  8. But would he really? Could Dwayne Johnson pull off that villain persona to carry Black Adam? I could see him pulling off the boyishness of Captain Marvel while being this massive figure. I'm not saying he is an Academy Award level actor by no means. I just feel playing a villain may come more easier & natural to him than a hero. I guess the best way to gauge this would be to watch his movies as both and decide which one he is best at. WB/DC must be satisfied with him as choice, even though we are in the dark about which character he will play. I believe it will be Black Adam though.
  9. He probably would make a better Black Adam (villain) than Captain Marvel (hero). Especially since Hercules was a major flop.
  10. I sure hope that's the route that they're going. That would be fine by me and probably most fans of the character. (thumbs u
  11. I agree it's more than hokey, it's stupid & will be confusing for those who don't know the characters history. Shazam is the wizard that gave Captain Marvel his powers and the hero should be called by his true name, but I know Marvel would have a hissy fit if WB/DC used that name.
  12. I was thinking about bidding on this book, but don't want a copy with David Peterson's signature on the front cover unless it's an actual SS book. Also, the signature didn't look like the "real deal" to me. Not to say it wasn't, just to me. Mostly all of the David Peterson sigs I've seen has the (-) in the front of it just to point out one anomaly. I'm still in the hunt for a copy though! (thumbs u The signature is legit - it's a good example of an early signature of his. Oh okay. (thumbs u I didn't want a GLOD anyhow.
  13. Nice! (thumbs u RM pedigree & white pages to boot!
  14. Nice copy! 1st Giganta & Cheetah B2B scans! Awesome!
  15. Here is my new Wonder Woman key addition to my collection! I this awesome cover!
  16. Your talking serious $$$ there! Yeah, probably going to have to pick up one of the non key issues. I would of loved that WP #140 that came up on clink a few months ago, but way too much for me. I have been looking for a nice #140 but I have not seen any recently. Yeah I remember that one. It was a very nice #140 PC pedigree! That's why I jumped on my #139 when I did. It's high grade key & a pedigree book, don't get much better than that!
