  1. Yup. The late BA and early CA is where the action will be fast and furious.
  2. Btw, by far the easiest thing to do is to say that a book is NOT a 9.8. Post large hi-res scans of any raw book you like, and 8 of 10 people will tell you it's not a 9.8.
  3. Having had it in hand the crease is not cracked. The book had never been opened. As you know, the harder stock covers are manufactured with a reading "seam". They are easily cracked once read. The graininess of the art on this cover, combined with the size of the scan, may lead you to think that the crease is cracked, but it is not.
  4. The Rock was the highest grossing actor last year, so yeah. No dispute, but clearly there's no accounting for taste.
  5. Not a problem with me. (but I think the personal diatribe is uncalled for.) Btw, the book's a 9.8 all day long.
  6. Wow...I'm so shocked. Another absolutely overgraded POS brought to you from Divad. How the hell is that Long Bow Hunters a 9.8 with the cracked crease not only on the front but the back as well? I'd be trepid to call it a 9.0...but that's the difference between you and I, I can grade and you don't have an absolute clue. Jim Wow . . . I'm so shocked. Another lame assessment from the master of pre-screens.
  7. Roscoe - You need to put larger scans in your eBay listings.
  8. Man-Thing 1 Man-Thing 2 Weird Mystery Tales 6 (Double Cover)
  9. I'm a huge Black Adam fan and I'm one of the seven with a 9.8. I really hate to depart with it but dang if someone will put some cash down I might part with it. Maybe I put it on the Bay for a crazy amount and see if anyone bites. Damn fool if you don't.
  10. Yes, but eBay sales of slabbed books show up on GPA and the sales you mention for 9.0's aren't there How often is GPA updated? Seems like it only takes a few days Yeah, it's pretty fast. From ebay, GPA almost certainly gets data in an automated fashion. Heritage might be a manual data dump. Do Greg Reece's sales turn up there? I don't think any of the major dealers report to GPA anymore. Can't say that I blame them. It just doesn't make good business sense for them to report. Not sure I understand THAT logic.
  11. There have been others . . . but I agree, it's up there!
  12. wouldn't pick it up if i were wearing a hazmat suit and asbestos gloves I just traded one in 6.0 for at least $200 worth of great books(if I'm being extremely conservative), so please let me know if you have a 5.0-6.0 copy available for $50. I like money. So does the other guy . . .
  13. Seriously. This book is one of my favorite books to grab cheap when possible. And not just raw copies, but even slabbed this book has great value. Not to mention one of the best covers in the run. One cannot go wrong buying any Spidey from #119-#137 ALL DAY LONG!
  14. No, but I would suggest to Chip to try and find a copy of the 2nd Edition and read it cover-to-cover.
  15. I was thinking more, a bottle of wine and good lighting . . . All depends on the time of the day. We are definitely into the wine and/or rye hours. We are birds of a feather . . . which of course, is why we all hang out here.
