  1. It's only really an argument if I own any of them . . .
  2. No doubt, you stumbled upon it when you first got wi-fi in your double-wide . . .
  3. Haha - Yeah, he bought a few of my Tomato Boxers and turned them into "pedigrees".
  4. I have bought all the Warlock books in quantity over the years simply because they are Starlin awesomeness and for a while there underappreciated. Yes, not really slab-worthy copies, but a lot of good stuff in the 6.0 - 9.2 range. Seriously never liked Warlock, even to this day.
  5. i would buy a palette of GL 87s if they could be found affordably. otoh, Iron Man 55 showed that a $30-40 G/VG copy one day could become a $150 ebay copy overnight, so maybe there's a lot of money to be made buying the best $50-$60 copies of this book you can find because they might be $200-$250 copies later. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Green-Lantern-87-CGC-9-6-1st-John-Stewart-/141219340278?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item20e1541ff6 At that price you have to wonder how much upside there is in slabbed HG though? (This market, however, never ceases to amaze me though, so I should probably shaddup.) I've been waiting for Green Lantern #87 to pop every since Dwayne Johnson and Denzel Washington were rumored casting choices for John Stewart in the upcoming Warner Justice League movies. I think I'm going to hoard the GL 87. There's some Bronze Age DC's that are way undervalued in uber-high grade. I'm thinking this is one of them. If you can find them . . . all of the Adams GL's in HG have been popular for a VERY LONG TIME. This is not news.
  6. Don't we all. It's the "somewhere" that's the hard part. I actually know where it is. The "somewhere" in my case was a figure of speech I'll head down to the storage unit in a couple of days to check it out. I have no idea how nice my copy is, so for now I'm just crossing my fingers. I spent two hours a couple of nights ago, looking for a book that I had listed and sold on eBay. It ended up being exactly where it should have been, but was on the flip side of another book's Mylar.
  7. Don't we all. It's the "somewhere" that's the hard part.
  8. No, sometimes they just abandon it; and sometimes they just die. And as to the second point; you can't take it with you.
  9. Who invited you to this challenge? Alright Greg, fair enough. But want if we eliminate the low dollar sales, where $8 is a relatively insignificant amount of money. What about $100+? Is a 1977 US quarter for $266 good enough? http://www.ebay.com/itm/231276840048 Assuming it's at least possible to get handed one of these in your change... that's over 1000x. Maybe, but it's not like I'm going to be given a Wolvie #41 second print as a function of currency in my day-to-day life. Right... you have to purposefully look for 800x opportunity in comics. In coins, they can find you (if you are paying attention). From that standpoint, coins are even more ridiculous than comics. Well, I sold one of my OO Hulk 181s raw for $2,200, and as I was working at the drugstore at the time, I don't even think I paid cover price on it. What's the math on that one? I remember telling my old man about it - he nearly choked on his Velveeta sandwich.
  10. And they may or may not when it comes time to sell. But if you think paying $800 for that wolverine book is smart, then by all means. No one said it was smart, but money takes a back seat to some people. They're not thinking of ever needing to sell - why would they do that? When you have gobs, you have gobs. You need to broaden your perspective a tad.
  11. I have sold a couple of NMs for $35 at local shows the past year. People are starting to treat Black Cat like Harley Quinn from the looks of things. Some of the other early Black Cat covers and appearances have started moving well over the same tie period. I wonder how much of this is just expectations that she'll be in costume in the next movie. It would be a huge mistake not to.
  12. That is actually quite cheap for that book Yeah, but it has one spine ding at the ULC (that actually looks production related, but I haven't seen enough of them to support that).
  13. Superman Batman Annual #4 Lookin' good Bubba, lookin' good.
  14. Don't forget this one! That's the worst cover I've ever seen . . .
  15. well - I will fully admit to CLOD status on that particular book - as I did not notice the trimming...... I think that CGC was trying to get more definition to the whole restoration and conservation scales - but really - think that they may just end up confusing things a lot with the multiple letters and numbers that they can assign. Any trimming gets "C" level (poor restoration) - which really - once it is trimmed - is there even a 1-2-3 difference anymore? I re-read the article above. The "C" you are referring to has nothing to do with conservation - trimmed books will still be PLODS. I like the idea of the new Conserved Grade, but I think it should be yet a different color. I do agree with the conserved grade thing too - to me there is a huge difference in PLOD for trimming - and a good real restoration job by a professional. At least now I have a good reference copy of what NOT to submit (as if that makes it better, ) Seriously, failure is the best way to learn. (thumbs u
