  1. We have been getting $60 for 9.0 - 9.4 raw copies for two years now at local shows......... Unbelieveable....I am so glad I've been hoarding them for the past year I believe that one of the other boardies that sells with us has been getting as high as $80 for raw 9.2/9.4 copies here and there as well....... One of my raw copies from November last year Item Name: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #252 May 1984 VF/NM 9.0 W 1st New BLACK Costume MARVEL Comics Item Number: 200842554488 Total: $50.00 USD
  2. Ya gotta love a book that's being stretched at the top, while being pushed at the bottom.
  3. I like this pick because I have already actively tracked down and purchased a few copies for my own collection. In fact, I'm trying to get all the 1st appearances of the New Warriors outside their 1st issue Luckily I snagged Nova #1 years before the explosion in price. Agreed - I had to look her up. What's not to like?
  4. Although some have dropped back a few pages because the discussion ran its course, these were the more active threads. Copper's Heating/Selling Well on Ebay This one is mainly about how much these books are going to bring in, and for how long. X-Factor 5 & 6 Overlooked and Potentially Undervalued Long/Mid-Term Copper - borderline modern collection...what would you offer? Going to check out a copper collection right now. So, now with Copper being HOT, is it okay to overpay for a Copper collection? It seems to be part of the life cycle of things. If you go back 3-4 years so many of the threads were about finding 9.8 copies of whatever books people were looking for. It was really a fun time. Tracking down the first copies of many different Copper books is something a lot of people here were actively doing. It was competitive, and you also got a lot of encouragement to go out there and keep on pushing. I'm not sure there are too many of those mountains left to climb. When you factor that in and combine it with the fact that most of us are sitting on mountains of Copper, it is sort of logical that the increased interest in the era and spikes in price have become the topic du jour. This does make sense. I guess after all these years, how could the hot topic not be about the sales now that Copper Age is finally exploding? I always banked on X-Factor #6 being hot one day. $300-$350 hot - I never saw that coming. If someone would have told me XF6 would be worth this much in a few years, a few years back, they would've been wiping the drink I accidentally spit in their face after a fit of laughter. Nope, this soothsayer didn't foresee this turn of events, himself. Over the last few years I've bought several Marvel collections that should have had the X-Factor title in their timeframes. They weren't even represented. What does that tell me? That it was a dog of a title when it was released . . . and even more so, now
  5. Not the first time that has happened. Yes, but that's intra-community stuff, not the real world. It's why I sell most of my books on eBay (aside from all the cheapskates around here )
  6. No worries. Now what book you want to boost next? Seriously, I don't think what is said on these boards has an impact whatsoever on the marketplace-at-large. It's a far bigger world out there than you think.
  7. I've pulled my #4s and they're headed to the Bay . . . (as annointed)
  8. How is Amazing Spider-Man #121, 122, OR 129 not on that list?! Even Green Lantern 76 Because, this is what people are looking for TODAY!
  9. "Watch" counts are completely erroneous and irrelevant. Most of my watchers are other sellers seeing if I hit my mark . . .
  10. There's 16!! 9.9's on the census??? Really?!?!?! I saw one in person at NYCC. It looked like a 9.4-9.6 to me.. So maybe the standards are lower for WD #1 Or maybe you just can't grade  CGC doesn't screw around when it comes to giving out 9.9s - you are never going to see a 9.4/9.6 book in a 9.9 holder. I can grade enough to know that a 9.9 shouldn't have a spine tick and blunted corners There are no blunted corners in the photo of the 9.9  16 Golden tickets - that's more than Willie Wonka
  11. Wait. What? I know. I don't get it either.
