  1. Isn't EOW 1 a double issue?
  2. There are three #1s on the census. I am surprised to see that many. It has the same kind of prinitng as Saga, but Saga 1 has no 9.9s. Maybe he difference is that EoWs pro nanny got sent sooner to CGC while Sagas sat for a littler but before it heated up.
  3. I have one raw 9.8 candidate at the moment It's funny that you mention Amazon - I bought one Saga #1 there way earlier this year. It came back a 9.8! And it was only $20.
  4. Wow, I just checked the census - only 5 graded Saga 6 second prints. 4 9.8s and 1 9.4. All 9.8s are in registry sets. For perspective - as tough as Saga 1 4th print is to get, there are six of those in the census.
  5. I take it that you have tried mycomicshop as well? I bought a few raw NM later prints from them. The were NM alrgiht, but NM-, NM, or maybe NM+ but not NM/MT
  6. Nice. Congrats again! Good luck on the grades and pressing!
  7. Yeah, it looks like you've been expanding your collection a lot recently. Congrats! Do you have a registry set yet?
  8. I had a similar experience, Colicab. I had a key issue that. I bought graded 9.4. The only thing I saw wrong was a little color rip, and I thought a press could lift it out a little and maybe get. A bump in grade. I sent it out to get pressed and get regraded and it cam back a 9.0! I contact the presses and he was all WTF, too, so I sent it to him again. He had it grade on site and it came back a 9.0 again. He asked the grader WTF and basically that grader and a grind to as with color rubs. I sat on it for a few months and decided to bust it out of its clam and send it in with a 9.8 prescreen. I looked at it and thought, "this is the most beautiful 9.0 I have ever seen. It came back a 9.8 MY lesson is that graders are fickle and grades are not consistent between different graders. If you are confident on its grade, send it in again. Thanks for the advice... I have been toiling with this thought process. I was thinking I might crack and re-sub next year. I just pulled it out of the box and I swear up and down this thing is a 9.8. Shoot I have seen 9.8's with tons of damage compared to this book that looks immaculate. No problem. And sorry if some parts came out wrong. I was typing quickly on my tablet before rushing to a meeting.
  9. That's cool. I wish I had looked for WD trades when I was in Rome. Some people will say they don't, but it seems clear that some graders grade on a curve, depending on the book.

  11. Well, it took me a year to dive into the WD board. I'm working my way up! I got a short box full of WDs heading to CGC soon...
  12. And while dealers were not able to physically exchange and sell the RRPs at C2E2, there were plenty of comic dealers that were going up to the non-comic stores reps and prepurchasing their copies from them.
  13. While there may not be as many copies to hoard, it still exists and possibly in the same proportion as the Saga RRP. I have seen many people comment here that will exceed the value of the Saga RRP, and that, in my mind, would encourage people to hoard. I guess it depends on how you define hoarding, too.
  14. Judging from some of the posts in this thread, I'm guessing there is a lot of hoarding going on with the expectation that this book will blow up in the near future.
  15. If it doesnt break color, then the bend could probably press out from an experienced presser. However, the top left corner looks a little round. I would guess it to be a 9.6, maybe a 9.8 on a good day.
  16. I bought an Avengers slab from Brian. It cam quickly, well packed, and at a great price. Thanks!
  17. For some reason, the #2 second print is under a different entry. There are 55 graded. 9 are 9.8. http://www.cgccomics.com/census/grades_standard.asp?title=Walking+Dead&issue=2&publisher=Image+Comics&year=2004&issuedate=2%2F04
  18. That's just tragic. But also representative of 50% of my raw eBay purchases.
