  1. Especially when "everyone in the building with grading credibility looked at the book, and EVERYONE agreed it was trimmed." Maybe that means no one looked at it....
  2. If they hired DD for that, CGC's credibility would actually soar.
  3. 'If' this is the case, CGC was duped by the submitter = not CGC's fault. It's been pretty obvious the past few years that some submitters are gaming the system. This would simply be another example. Another thing I don't understand, why would the new owner show this to Dan ? He must have realized there would be some consequence. We really need to find out who the submitter is. The book was sold via PM. Which boardies are also mods with access to our PMs?
  4. Congrats! Your reward is waiting for you in the PIF thread. Please claim it ASAP.
  5. I'm starting to believe the new submitter was a man with a plan. Have we come full circle back to a set-up yet? Or instead of the word 'set-up', we use CGC was taken advantage of'? And where is Roy?
  6. The person that walked it through.... Could he/she have been close to the CGC employee(s)? Could he/she have misused their trusting relationship to tell CGC employees they've had it since forever and it has no resto? Could CGC just take his/her word for it? Could the person who walked it through somehow distracted them from noticing this was the same comic that had recent issues with it? I'm curious. Who did the walk through?
  7. I'm not sure it's been established that the book is actually trimmed or not. I'll bet ya DD could tell you for sure. In a heartbeat.
  8. To late to make me happy about it. I'll be happy if the buyer re-sells it and makes a nice healthy profit. Can you tell us if the buyer was a high volume submitter/dealer? I'd like to know who walked this book thru CGC as well. I'd like to see someone who knows all the players post some Vegas like odds here.
  9. The Grader's Notes are $15, so it was a walk through: Introductory Fees for CGC Grader Notes: Comics Submitted Under (Tier) Dealer & Elite Fee Regular Fee Economy, Value and Modern $4 $5 Standard and Express $8 $10 Walkthrough $12 $15 So it was a walk through. Getting special attention. Yet not a single employee at CGC recognized this book and it's recent issues? Sorry. Can't believe that. If true, then CGC has some serious splainin' to do.
  10. The purple label 7.0 was graded before the blue label 6.0. Plus, why would anyone want to go to the expense for a setup? There's really nothing to be gained other than bad press and the CGC certainly doesn't need anyone's help in that regard. What really confuses me are the grade dates. Only several weeks apart. This book and all the hoopla had to be fresh in their memories. You'd have to be completely incompetent for not a single CGC employee to go, "Hey isn't this the comic we just had all the....." And how did it get graded so quickly. If you factor in the shipping times from CGC to customer, customer sells it to next person, then customer shipsback to CGC... that has to take awhile. How did this book get graded so fast? Did someone pay for a walkthrough?
  11. I'll tell you how.......... Hire DD ! I've been saying it since CGC first started. Hire the man. Pay him $100,000 per year. (A high $$ to keep his nose clean till the day he dies). There is no one on the planet better at spotting trimmed comics than DD. He should know. He trimmed them. He has even spotted trimming from a scan. Ask Ewert.
  12. I'm no CGC zombie but this is almost too good to be true for anti CGCers. Smells like a set-up.
  13. I don't understand the hate that GL and DD (director's cut) get. I would rather get a bowl of popcorn and watch either of them over SM3, TDKR, or IM3.
  14. What's up with the look on Quicksilver's face? Is he constipated? Is he upset with the clothes they made him wear? I wanna punch him in the mouth for some reason.
  15. I thought this trailer was kick azz!! I look forward to multiple viewings of this movie. Same as the Amazing Spider-Man 2. If only Fox would put some real effort into the FF franchise, I'd have no huge complaints about movies being made outside of Marvel Studios.
  16. Looks like you're always right. You'll do well here. If I learned anything from here... it's that sometimes you gotta toot your own horn. But thanks for sharing that Senior wisdom with this rookie.
