  1. I don't mind change, but these new boards stink. Why change what isn't broken?
  2. If you look on Amazon, yes they do indeed have cable extenders. But you could always just buy an original Nintendo with the longer cables!
  3. I almost completely left CBR's boards when I found this place. Those boards were infected. Moderation was and still is a mess. Their community made our WC look like a vacation spot. It wasn't always like that though. In the early 2000s, I used to love posting there.
  4. We beat the first Zelda and Mario. I picked up Dr Mario too which my daughter seemed to really enjoy. Final Fantasy also came in the mail but I haven't started that. I'll probably go play some of the second Zelda here in a moment. The entire family is loving it. My wife got really worked up trying to beat Mario 3 last night. It was a blast.
  5. I was told last week in three stores that they still have lines the day it comes in off the truck and they sell out instantly. Kids and I had a blast playing Zelda today. I'm thinking we might just replay the series. My understanding is that since the original NES was not designed for the current TV's that there are too many attachments and hardware modifications that need to take place. Either way, I am liking the fact that there is a save feature on the NES Classic. That, and I am no longer at a time in my life where I want to blow dust out of a game to get it to work. I will probably still wait until I find it at retail. I had no issue hooking up the Nintendo to my TV. It had an audio/visual port on the side and I just plugged it right in. It looks beautiful on my tv too. They also change out something in the system and you no longer have to blow in it. I forgot what they change but most of the eBay listings will mention that it has been changed. I did buy mine from a retro store though and it was serviced and guaranteed for 30 days.

  7. I kept looking for an NES classic but couldn't ever find one. I ended up in a retro store buying an actual Nintendo for $60 and Mario, first Zelda, and Ninja Tirtles for my son. Been playing Mario all morning! I was pretty young when this came out and was more into super. I don't remember that many games so I'm welcome to suggestions.
  8. So would you have rather had Episodes 1-3 again? Why is following the formula a bad thing? It works. Go look at some Joseph Campbell. This has all been done. Why can't some people just be kids and enjoy movies?
  9. Totally. If it says "Star Wars" it could be anything.... Star Wars : The Flight of the Spaghetti Monster Star Wars : Last of the Wookies Star Wars : The Day Tattoine Stood Still And so forth... Why post here? I feel like this is quality trolling. Rogue One was really solid. Until they lose the magic, I'll continue to see the movies. I'd go see The Last Wookie- A Star Wars Story. Why not? Have I said Rouge One was terrible? Thought we are discussing Episode VII of the ongoing Star Wars Everything the same, franchise. Having a differing opinion isn't trolling. Calling you a loser, is. Your previous comment about it being worn out and not cool just sounds odd. Trolling might be harsh, but why post it here? Sometimes a spades a spade.

  11. The thing that get me is that I'll have a book in a similar condition only a PLOD for a fraction of the cost. I'll be pretty happy with it though, and it was affordable. I'll probably do the same thing with an AF 15. But yea ASM is priced low for a major key. Might be an interesting book to invest in for the next 10 years.
  12. Really? I guess I was younger than I thought. I'm 31 and felt like I was watching in middle school. I guess I wasn't though. Maybe by then I was watching Dragon Ball Z instead.
  13. My brother in law is obsessed and whenever we hang out I play. It's fun enough.
  14. set your tv to game mode. That might not make a difference. That is more a color thing than a lag thing. I've heard the lag makes a big deal with some TVs. Some hardcore streamers swear by the "Gaming Monitors." How is it hooked up? I've heard that can make a difference. The cable could be bad. Funny you notice it that bad. Not to be a , but are you sure you just aren't as good? I remember owning in Street Fighter 2, but I stink when I try to play now. Same with NBA Jam.
  15. I have to see more games before I consider picking one up. While I'm sure they're great, I need more then Zelda 24, Mario 52, and Mario Kart 458. Zelda looks to be a game-changer for the series, I think this is the first Mario game that is a true follow-up to galaxy. There was a Super Mario Galaxy 2 though.... I didn't feel it captured the magic of the first which I devoted a lot of time to. I haven't seen clips from the Zelda game. Does it look that legit? OoT is one of my top 3 all time. Edit: The Zelda does look cool, but I really didn't like Skyward Sword. I'll wait for reviews before a I jump in.
  16. Should Chip be on both lists or is that just an oversight?
  17. Has Hulu had any success making shows?
  18. It's incredible how many of Frank Miller's works are on the list.
  19. I wouldn't touch a trimmed book. If it presented well and was a major key, the resto wouldn't bother me. If it was trimmed, I wouldn't touch it though. I think the market agrees too.
  20. Interesting how mixed responses are to the film. I thought it was the best thing since Empire, and that is saying a lot. Great War movie and I'm glad Disney didn't pull punches like I was worried they would. I'm excited to see it again.
  21. Are people a bit weary because Ep 7 may not have lived up to expectations, you think? I'm actually the opposite. I wasn't that pumped for EP 7, but I'm really looking forward to Rogue One. Going back to that period, with the same vehicles and outfits and stuff, gets me really excited. That's the Star Wars I know and love. I'm with you. I enjoyed Force Awakens, but it felt more like a reboot or reimagining of the originals and it left me a little let down. Great action sequences, but too much reliance on age-old characters and familiar quips. It's okay. Now, Rogue One is a different story. I became intrigued when it was first announced. I was modestly enthusiastic when the reshoots were happening because the first cut of the movie was "too" gritty and dour....an actual war movie for the franchise? Wow! And the second trailer I thought was near perfect. Everything about it looks great, and I'm certainly looking forward to it. Yea I was worried but the trailers kind of ended them. I think they'll have a lot to freedom with the story since they aren't messing with the main characters storyline. It still looks like a war movie. I'm excited.
  22. I love the entire Romita run. He takes what was set by Ditko and does a nice job with it. Are you saying post 50 isn't very good?
