  1. This. And it was still low based on what I thought taking everything into consideration.
  2. Prices are all over the place today, and when you do some apples to oranges comparisons like this really make no sense. Although this one we know is simply the lamest character of the last 40 years compared to the most popular version of one of the most popular.
  3. Glad they didn’t waste much time trying to sell the Bolland Batman at that ridiculous price.
  4. Compared to other first appearance prices the results are pretty silly for a B+ ish level Batman villain IMO and would not be my choice, but I kind of get the premium on Batman’s Rogues gallery as it is probably the most popular as a whole.
  5. Overall market is down about 35 percent compared to the absolute peak in prices from 1st Half 2022(I know that sounds crazy but just go take a look through the HA archives). There are however still quite a few hot sectors, especially from art from the last 20 years or so. The Hush cover would have sold for double a year ago. The of today for me was the Bane pages.
  6. Some Capullo Batman was close, some Court of Owls stuff is still probably in this range, but the run got horrible as it went on. Lots of pages sold but there is a lot of supply still left that will never sell. Grampa DK3 sold maybe 1/3 of the interior of the book at similar/slightly lower prices. Marini Dark Prince Charming interior prices may actually have been slightly higher overall, not sure how much of it sold. SGM Batman interiors have been selling for more and more and the best pages and covers are probably close. As far as covers go there have been a fair amount of modern covers that have gotten or would get insane prices so 50k for the cover isn’t completely crazy. Big thing with these prices as well is knowing how nice/professional and overall good guy Felix is. People want to do business with him as opposed to some other reps/artists that I would be hesitant doing 5 figure buys from.
  7. There have been a few books in a similar ballpark, but none with the demand I can think of to sell out like this at these prices. I tried, but I didn’t end up with any pages.
  8. This is a very strange auction. The JRJR Typhoid Mary pieces smoked the DD and Phoenix splashes.
  9. There seems to be a steady decline in pre live bidding at heritage over the past year or so. Prices now mean as little as ever.
  10. That’s a fantastic page and right where I thought it would land. The Forever People page however at 13k was really nuts.
  11. I did and I tried hard, but my nostalgia lensed glasses defeated me. We absolutely are. I am constantly making these apples to oranges comparisons. Since I could never even own a fraction of what I love, my collecting strategy is basically maximizing “value” of my dollar on what I can buy across everything I think is cool/love.
  12. Cheap…….like really really cheap. Not sure if it is in his wheelhouse, but wouldn’t be surprised if Bill Perkins picked this up. (Sugar Shack buyer)
  13. Fair enough. I have a strong biased in favor or interiors so these questions are always tough for me.
  14. Was he saying that from his point of view or speaking of heritage’s in the way they pumped it. That’s how I heard it but could be wrong.
  15. Had a solo trip to the airport so I had time to listen to my first episode in quite. Love the passion Dave has. The defining line I think when analyzing the result; “that’s a whole lot of Lynn Varley.” Yes it’s a #1 cover to a major book, but is it the most iconic piece from DKR? Is it the best piece artistically? I would say THE splash is and sells for more.
  16. What a great auction. I was excited because I had a lot of targets so I figured I would have a good shot of taking something home, which I did. I didn’t think the auction was weak, but there weren’t many massive jumps in pricing. Most stuff finished about where I thought it would or a bid or two under. The things I was interested in/bidding on Sale Joker DPS - phenomenal page, I wanted it bad, kept bidding but it kept going. Killing Joke pages - new highs but not surprisingly so compared to the rest of the market. Jim 108 pages - I thought some of the best ones would go a bid or two higher. Arkham Asylum pages - really reasonable I thought, kind of wish I through another bid on the first two. I love the art but the story has never really resonated with me. Sandman pages all went cheaper than I thought they would. Thought the number one page would hit 100k. I was the underbidder on the Wagner Death page which I thought would do closer to 20.
  17. 0 for me, wanted the Red Hood TKJ page and the Sale Joker DPS, but couldn’t make it happen. Came close but couldn’t get any of the JIM 108 pages. Finished off trying for the Wagner Death page which I think went really reasonably, but didn’t need to push higher on it since I got a Bachalo HCOL page this year.
  18. I wanted page 11 and was really hoping it was still a high 5 figure page. Guess not
  19. If the SW8 page sold for a normal price we would be saying the DK1 price would be insane.
  20. Thought the Sandman page would break 100k.
  21. Just saw the result. I thought it had a shot at a million but $3m……..mind boggling.
  22. No sales or purchases for me, which is of a bummer since I had sold and bought things from both of the previous ones. A lot of pricing was simply absurd this show. I saw a fair amount of stuff that I feel was 3-5x FMV even in this market, and some prices higher.
  23. A steal compared to the last one...I had my finger over the bid button but have been trying to back off a bit on art lately.
