  1. There are a bunch...many appearing to have fuzzy attributions, buyers beware.
  2. I wonder if Sean Murphy won the Hush Batmobile piece and paid it off with yesterday’s art drop. That piece felt a bit high as well, unless you REALLY like cars.
  3. FF cover went crazy high. I would take the Superman cover any day of the week over it. Also UXM 248 should be worth a lot more than the FF cover. Like I said just weird in relation to each others
  4. These Jim Lee prices are wrong in relation to each other.
  5. I was actually expecting a bit higher. Good value based on what a lot of Spidey stuff has been selling for recently I think.
  6. So todays lots that are interesting to me... I am curious to see what a Nice ASM 90's Bagley cover is worth. The Superman #204 cover is absolutely gorgeous, but Superman has become a second tier character when it comes to art prices. Big price based on it being "iconic" or does Superman still not sell? The Kirby FF Dr. Doom/Human Torch half splash is probably my favorite piece in the auction. I could stare at it for hours. UXM #248 cover, historically significant, but not even close to the best Jim Lee X-Men piece. I think it being his first cover leads to a big price. The Batman #488 cover is incredibly ugly and no Batman, I can't believe someone is willing to pay the price it is already at. The Alex Ross Marvels splash is mind blowing. The Jim Starling Thanos piece seems low to me for what it is. A lot a live bids coming?
  7. This....it is so important, yet most people don’t do it. When you use them every fold has to be at 90 degree angles, or else it has little protection. obviously using painters tape to secure book and at least one extra sheet of cardboard are standard as well.
  8. It was Higher than I thought it would go, but I understand the price. A couple collectors really thought that was an important part in Batman lore. Also......we are really at a point in the hobby where 10k is the new 1k. The price escalation has been unreal. I had it pegged and about 4-5k preauction.
  9. It seems like a couple of artists have been working this way, and I actually like it. You end up getting the prelim as well so it is kind of even more "complete" than a pencil and ink piece IMO. I also like being able to see where the piece changed in relation to those blue line layouts to finished lines. I'm all for it, and I am a person who is pretty against buying digital work.
  10. So that's where the Breyfogle Batman/Joker DPS ended up. It is an absolutely wonderful piece! Your wife has great taste.
  11. I have not been on the forum much and just saw this. IT IS AWESOME!
  12. It's the opposite, especially now when you have a lot of speculators who made good money in comics pumping cash into 1st appearance art, with not a care to the artistic rendering of the piece. Kick in the nostalgia effect that has been hitting the Liefeld market and a NM 98 page can possible sell for more than a Kirby X-Men #1 page.
  13. And I was being pretty conservative, which based on first week bidding looks like it was a mistake Can I revise it and say a couple lunatics might push this to hitting 6 figures? Im betting we see one of the other 7(I think) interior come up to auction after this result.
  14. I am betting around 45-50k hammer. No way this page ends up under 30k.
  15. I was totally expecting that page to end up in your report. It was just an absolute nutty price for that page. I actually put a bid in for about $100 and was thinking it may have had a shot at winning the lot
  16. New Mutants #98 page is already over 10k, my gut was telling me it would go crazy, I think some people heads will explode when it hammers.
  17. I could see 100-300 depending on the day. Low end art can vary greatly. I’m going to say any Bagley ASM Page with Spidey on it is worth at least a c-note.
  18. Yup, I would agree. I have not won any of them, been the underbidder on half a dozen or so.
  19. The prices the pages have maintained with the stream of them that have popped up has been impressive. I thought we would see price fatigue but it hasn't happened. Has anyone emailed the seller to know the story of how the pages came to market?
  20. I like Marvel/Kingdom Come/Batman War on Crime pretty much equally. Size is always a top thing for me, and until I just looked at the auction I didn't realize how big it was, and I loved the silhouette-style of the piece. The t-shirt piece is probably just right. It's small, but very nicely rendered. If you actually break it down per head sketch it is about $50 a pop, makes it seem like a deal when I look at it like that. I wonder if it would of sold for a bit more if it didn't have that ugly t-shirt outline around it? It's kind of distracting.
  21. Its oversized(actually slightly bigger than those ones that just finished at ha) and pretty finished for a prelim as well. It's a similiar situation to how many Bolland KJ prelims sell for more than his lesser published covers do.
  22. Ok, I totally missed this piece. I would have bid 1500 or so if I had noticed it. Nice 2up page from mid silver age? A great piece for a paltry 3 figure price. I should have bid on this stronger. I am looking at it today and shaking my head when I see the end price. Steal of the auction. High prices, but boy were they nice.
  23. Saved $100 on a Sideshow statue. Best eBay coupon ever.
