  1. Your images are all direct links via a cloudfront hosted service, so they ain't showing up (at least won't show up for large chunk of people)
  2. Might have been the same person in charge of uploading those images in your post
  3. Zoey Deutch would be an easy pick for this role, but of all them I personally think the best fit would be Isabella Merced.
  4. For me personally I get them graded because I often can only afford the lowest grade, and those often are easier to damage when handled due to a variety of factors. I had a nice early Doctor Fate issue I loved to have raw for the interior colors, but it was literally falling apart in my hands so I opted to have it graded (same goes for my TOS39, but those have so many reprints I can read those) - the rest of my GA collection ends up graded often because that is how I bought them But as for all my SA stuff, I don't grade them if I'm keeping them. I have become addicted to buying a handful of comicskin cases to swap between books when I want my display to match and look like all graded books though.
  5. For More Fun Comics and Adventure Comics I'm seeing a very even rise (or rather a correction) in all prices for early superhero issues (Spectre, Doctor Fate, Sandman, and even Hourman covers) across all platforms. These issues rarely ever get listed for sale/auction in presentable lower grades, so for a good chunk of them I honestly think it is the same collectors that have been waiting years for an affordable copy to surface (I know I was, and bid on pretty much every copy that got listed). If it has a super hero cover and is low grade it is safe to assume it is worth at least $600-700 now. I see those prices easily holding and then slowly rising (these are the only two books I've been actively hunting for over the last few years and watching the prices has been interesting) The MF55 is a wild card since it is a big first appearance, very rare, but also still speculated on due to an upcoming movie - I still don't see why that one went above $4,000 though (the coverless copy I was negotiating for at the same time I was offering between $1,600-$2000 for, but once this 9k price hit the GPA I stopped the offer since the seller would be better off keeping it and listing it for a much high price - even if it would be out of my budget)
  6. They do offer encapsulation for that size - kinda. If you send it in they can seal it in the inner well and will put a sticker seal on the outside with the grade. It will NOT be in a solid ridged shell. I've seen this for some TMNT #1 that were mistakenly sent in during one of their promotions, contact them directly about this as I'm not sure if it will also be done like this or if they now just send it back without any work done.
  7. My latest graded purchase, I just could not resist it. Always liked the cover, but never pulled the trigger due to how picky I am with cover ink colors (as well as any pieces missing that might impact art) - however this one seemed to be a nice middle ground that presents great. Can anyone offer some insight on the difference between this 'Canadian' version and a regular copy? I thought all Superior publications were Canadian (or does this mean the other copies while printed in Canada were meant for distribution in the states?)
  8. Got my baby back today - good way to start the weekend. The time it took between mailing it in, signing, and then grading basically meant by the end of it the book had quadrupled in value on the market
  9. I wish...it's 3rd print I sold my 1st print when things started to go bonkers (no regrets for that cash money pile!) I'm happy to trade this one for a 1st print if you want haha I'm in Canada so was surprised it arrived out of the blue.
  10. Well well well, look who showed up a few grade points higher than expected (I keep forgetting how I REALLY grade my books hard, sheesh, no wonder everyone is always happy with my raw sale threads ) Signed and remarked on the back cover with some Donatello goodness
  11. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy random filler books though, and it would still be possible to hold top registry positions without a full set - I just think having MORE point paths available to collectors to compete for top spots the better. Maybe some like to collect small amounts of high grade issues from a run, maybe others only want pedigree books, and others might like to aim for collecting them all but in lower grade. Could be much more fun strategizing the best way to compete and not always just boil down to who has the single highest graded key book from the run and nothing else.
  12. Nice congrats. I won't be checking my grade until it's delivered, as at this point I don't trust any stage of the process until I'm actually physically holding it (also I need to actually inspect it to see if Eastman took my 'bribe' for a drawing request on the back cover where I prepped the book to be signed/remarqued)
  13. This was the book I was most surprised for: $9,000us I was actually working out a deal to buy a coverless/incomplete copy this week, and only found out about this one when I checked GPA to get some more pricing info to make sure my offer decent. Well, that's one less grail I'll never be able to afford even in super low grade
  14. Ah, so that's who bought that copy before I could sell off some keys in order to buy it from the owner directly
  15. I think for perfection, across all categories (actors, composition, score, editing, cinematography, -script, cultural impact / quotes etc) the two that always come to mind for me are the original Robocop and the first Rocky. I'm slow to name a 'perfect' movie released in the last 2 decades, not because they don't exist, but rather I think it takes time to really nail down the ones that deserve the title so I mostly will just let those simmer awhile longer (especially when you factor in cultural shifts. Many a good movies have become garbage just from cringe alone when revisited)
  16. Ah but you see, these don't contain their patented rounded corners - it's the border radius that must be tied up in legal! These use a generic public domain square!
  17. Ohh, rating GA books on cover alone - that means an excuse to post my custom babies! WILD CARD, SUCKERS!!! These GA babies are now hitting AAAA+++ since they actually feature the awesome first appearances within! As for actual grade rating, you can see that here as well (covers detached, obviously ) (also can somebody confirm it is okay to post these slab pictures, I could not find any non-sales board rules anywhere for it - if not cool I'll pull em asap. I know selling any non-CGC books is a no-no, but I've seen pictures of PGX stuff as well for discussion and other random slabs. These are obvious NFS and are for my PC only).
  18. Yup, mine also switched over today to Grading / Quality Control. Happy to see movement, but would have been happier to have decent customer service answers along the way
  19. I know it also includes encapsulation but the main issue (and beef with customer service) is I specifically asked for any clarification on what the meaning behind 'it will be done soon' might be (both now, last week, and three weeks ago. If they just said 'a month or more' three weeks ago that would have been fine)
  20. Current update: Called 3 weeks ago asking for clarification (my book has been in 'Scheduled for Grading' for some time now, but since I don't check daily I could not confirm exactly when it switched over) - they said it was being finalized and should be done soon. No change so I emailed them last week for clarification...and got the same answer 'it was being finalized and should be done soon'. I replied asking what that meant (few more days? a week? several weeks? x amount of months?) but never got a reply. I'm fine with delays, but some sort of actual assurance would be nice rather than continuously feeling like customer service just wants to get you off the line and ignore the issue. Wheee customer service goes brrrrrrrrrrr
  21. Same. Any request I make for some clarification on turn around time is either vague or just never replied to (the best answer I get is 'it will be finalized soon', but I have no idea what that means as they said that three weeks ago on the phone and then again a week ago via email) This is becoming an actual customer service issue now rather than just being an understandable delay due to volume of submissions - I would be fine with any reason for delay had they actually been transparent with what was going on and not trying to dodge the questions when I finally reach out to customer support.
  22. Also this is a good excuse to post some of my favourite turtle pin-ups ever. Jennika is one of the best additions to the lore ever, being so well developed over a good run of issues (not just a sudden 'HEY NEW CHARACTER' type one off out of the blue stories)
  23. That photo looks like the last thing a child sees before being lured with candy into a white van.
