  1. As I expected, Batman #181 continues to get more and more frenzy around it without any specific reason or announcment. Even though it was already a key issue, I had it pegged as still being under appreciated overall. Lower grades are seeing much more action as of late, with even a poor 1.8 hitting $332us (and a 3.0 selling for $500us this month as well)
  2. This is the main reason why I reaaallly wish CGC would allow for NG books to be allowed into the CGC Comic Registry for competitive sets. Managing to get a coverless copy of Action #1 (or any of those epic keys) should still count for something in a set - even if it's only 1 point - just to allow more collectors a chance of 100% completing their sets.
  3. Latest round is closing up soon (live auction just started, but all the books I wanted were right at the start for once). Looked like the Sandman cover lovers showed up, as I was expecting low grade Adventure Comics to go for a little less. I'm happy they are getting their due (especially #60, which I already own a nice 3.5 restored copy), but it unfortunately meant I could only afford to buy one right now (edit: nope - seems it didn't win the auction even though I was clicking the bid button to raise it until the end. Very odd - guess I lost out)
  4. I would normal agree with most and say 0.5 is bang on, but after seeing a slew of other books I honestly don't know anymore. I personally sold an ASM #1 that was looking the same as yours and I sold it as a 0.5 (full spine split, tape every where, literally falling apart with only my comic collector willpower holding it together)...months later the buyer informed it came back as 1.5. I really don't know what to say anymore so sure, 1.0 for yours
  5. Lone top census SS for this issue (as well as the rest of the mini-series except for issues #4 and #6, which are tied with another SS 9.8) My other issues in this run (inside the spoiler)
  6. Maybe they are being sly and when they say "grounded" they don't mean low/no power but rather somebody who can't fly - is literally grounded...maybe on account of their weight, from being made of GROUND..er..rock. I'm saying a human pre-transformation Ben Grimm that they bump into on Yancy Street. Imagine how bonkers you would all go if that was the case. WILD CARD!!! (also it's Mephisto appearing as Ben Grimm, spoiler)
  7. Now we just have to see how much that 9.8 will sell for on heritage
  8. Yeah, that is a rollercoaster. I have a 7.0 that I'm now tempted to sell
  9. I'm not going to post it (and now regret having watched it), but a cam job of one of the fatalities leaked online and it is gloriously gory. That's all anybody needs to know and you should save yourself for when it is officially released.
  10. I also had one like this (with rust migration on the paper), it was a 4.0 (but it was years ago, not a recently graded book)
  11. Soundtrack time, and they are doubling down on the techno that made the first movie so memorable. Hell yeah. Is it better than the original, nope, but is it over the top, cheesy and basically what I expect a modern version would be (more dubstep / drum n' bass / EDM rather than the originals industrial techno rock), yeah!
  12. Technically all but one of these were already in my collection, as I hunted them down and had em graded specifically to complete a 9.8 set...but now, I finally had them all upgraded to signature series! The crown jewel of my Copper Age books Very happy with them (minor nitpick though, if I could go back in time I would have specified for Doug to use the silver pen on all the books, as I neglected to mention that in my submission and let him decide what to use) Rest of the books here in the spoiler (in order to keep the page neat and not blow it up with large images):
  13. Thanks - my brothers love it, and that's why it was easy for me justify the costs involved for such a nostalgic set (as hunting these all down in 9.8 condition, grading them, THEN finding a way to get them signed and re-graded later on was a money sink most would not ever consider) Added photos to my registry now
  14. Yup, I do - UPDATED WITH PHOTOS FOR ALL BOOKS. https://comics.www.collectors-society.com/registry/comics/PeopleSetDetail.aspx?PeopleSetID=137866
  15. I was surprised by the grade (I honestly had it pegged to be 4.0 at best) and super happy to have it, but out of all the books I had signed this was my least nostalgic. I grew up with Moon Knight's second volume, the Fist of Khonshu series, and after much effort and time I've finally managed to put together a perfect 9.8 set which I then had signed by Moench as well!
  16. Finally got my personal copy back from grading. I've had this one for decades and never thought about grading since I considered it too low, but once prices started shooting up (I wanted to upgrade it but now, my wallet says nope!) AND I could get it signed along with a bunch of my other Moon Knight issues I just could not resist.
  17. I love buying qualified books due to the fact they are typically much better presenting than most other books (I especially love all those 'married-cover' top census GA books out there, sure I'll take the absolute best looking copy out there for the price of a mid range copy! ), and how a comic displays is my primary concern for the majority of books (cover looks great with amazing color strike). Married qualified books have a good chance to become blue/conserved label in the future if regraded after any other conservation work is applied. I 100% support Conserved books and do have my own mega keys conserved to some degree when needed and personally think the minor amount of work done on the books should place them only slightly lower than universal copies (when we are talking about proper archive/conservation work done to preserve a book - such things are common and expected in other hobbies, such as movie posters, and should be the case with comics as well) Universal (anything other than 0.5) > Conserved > Qualified (married) > Restored (slight pro) > Qualified (incomplete) > Restored (all others) Universal 0.5 grades are wild cards, as most would be better off in Qualified labels with detailed notes but since the market wants blue labels we have many people opting for the lowest blue over that of a more accurate graded to describe the overall condition, and bidding on such items are often all over the place.
  18. I think my brain dumps all memories of bad movies so I never have to relive them, thus thinking up examples that I found very abysmal often results in a brain fart I do however recall that I turned off Blade: Trinity very early on into the film, which is something I never do (if I've decided to watch something I'll see it through to the end...but not this). What a dump. So that gets my vote for worst superhero movie I've seen.
  19. 5.0 is 10k minimum. I sold mine for that early last year just as things started to get crazy and could have easily got more had I waited a month or so more. I would say 5.0 is anywhere from to $12k-15k now.
  20. The real kicker is by picking that cheap weekend they might have actually increased their overall operating costs - as many event workers are union and it will count as overtime pay due to it being a holiday (unless of course they are going to be operating on a skeleton crew of desperate workers) I love SDCC, as it's only a few house drive from when I visit Hollywood, but that ain't ever happening for me on a major holiday weekend like this.
  21. 9.2, but I honestly can see you lucking out with something higher.
  22. Official teaser poster is here in nice hi-res glory (the one used in times square above). Can't wait!
