  1. That was scissors, there's a noticeable curve at the bottom of the cut. If that amount of paper had been taken off the top, like a remainder copy, we'd be looking at a 0.5, right?
  2. Cheesecake will always sell, but bondage and headlights aren't terms I hear used anymore. Does anyone under the age of 50 collect specifically for those genres? I'm 40, and I find "injury to eye" far more compelling.
  3. ... or All American 16, first GA Green Lantern
  4. Still need a 16. ASM16 isnt first Mysterio, it's 13
  5. I have Silver Surfer 50, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and I'd buy a 1st newsstand if I saw one. Not sure that counts, I never kept doubles of the same book: wasted space, and the opportunity cost is a book I don't already have.
  6. Good time to sell What If...? as the young'n's and speculators are loading up for a what if style tv show that's rumored. I'd clear out the extras soon, prices are strong across the board at the moment.
  7. If they're expecting 9.8s, it's not a book I care about. However, I do think the 9.8 or bust mentality is pretty ridiculous, so yes, I would enjoy that immensely.
  8. Have we heard if Marvel plans to collect any digital series in physical tpbs? That still seems a viable format to sell through Amazon, even if they don't think floppies are worthwhile.
  9. Someone in the wilds of Facebook was offering the set for $1000. He sat on them for a month, and when the ad came back around, I got them cheaper. He said they were like new, but when they arrived, they were no such thing: plenty of undisclosed edge wear on all of them. Between the Wonder Woman and Sensation, one was also dropped on a spine corner, and the other has a tear in the dust cover. I got a discount off those two rather than blowing my top and returning them, which I'm proud of. I just bought a House of Mystery tonight to complete my DC set. All that's left are the weirdos... Smurfs, Annie, GI Joe, Archie, before I get into the coloring books and older stuff. Not looking forward to that!
  10. DC released New Fun #1 recently, and they've solicited a reprint of Superman vs. Wonder Woman. Is anyone noticing an uptick in demand for treasuries, or are they still a novelty item to most? I assume people will complain about storage and pass them by, but I went and bought all five Famous 1st Edition hardcovers just in case.
  11. Do we know that for sure? When we were young'n's, a misprint was a defect. Modern collectors nowadays seem to love being able waive a comic in someone else's face to incite jealousy because the other person doesn't have one.
  12. That post tells me you're buying beyond your means. Make sure you're prepared before committing money you dont have to funny books.
  13. Everyone else has told you if you dont like it, move along. What more do you need to hear?
  14. Moderns are a whole different beast: FMV is the last price someone paid on eBay, so people can ask whatever they want. The Miles Morales book went from $100 to $400 to $200 in the span of a week. Are you really going to give someone a hard time for getting it wrong?
  15. Aww, geez... this whole mess is about moderns? I should've known.
  16. I picked the run, I take more enjoyment in many than few. What do I do with one comic? Storage is a lousy excuse to pick the key, 1-300 fits in less than three short boxes. There's still room for the Annuals, Giant-Sizes, and a pile of early crossovers.
  17. I made a very modest buy that I'm very happy with. The seller posted a few beater treasuries for sale for $20. I had them, so I passed. Later, he added a digest, a magazine, and an A-Team marvel graphic novel that I'd never seen before (squarebound, magazine size like Death of Captain Marvel). It was still $20, so I took it. Probably would have paid $20 for the A-Team by itself, but I didnt even meet the guy: it was left outside the side entrance, and I was told to drop the $20 bill in the mailbox.
  18. It's not win-win for the seller. It might not even be win-win for the two buyers if the high bid decides to stiff the lower bidder, and keep all the books. Take your best shot or go home.
  19. Overstreet Fan published the actual prices, which didnt change much outside of Summer convention season. Wizard artificially raised prices on new books to make it look like something was going on, and then dropped them the month after. Wizard was the worst thing to ever happen to the comic market. They should be slabbed, only the cover art has any value.
  20. I can hear the 90s kids screaming for Wally from where I'm sitting... DC is clearly head and shoulders above Marvel with regards to passing down mantles. Even their villains do it.
  21. Tigress and Icicle are an intriguing pair in the comics, and Johns makes villains shine. If you're looking for spec, those two would be it.
  22. That bugs me less than the guys getting the beaters and restored comics autographed to flip...
