  4. They should only do that if you are purchasing something at their location in person. For example, most states with a sales tax require state sales tax to be collected by those setting up at shows, regardless of whether the seller or purchaser are from the state in question. Whether sellers and buyers actually comply is another thing altogether.
  5. That Fireman Saucy is rather tame for the run, but a beautiful copy.
  6. You buy enough stuff on ebay, you'll eventually get something shipped in a flimsy envelope with no added protection, and no bag. Fortunately for me, it's only happened to low grade inexpensive stuff, and if the books picked up additional damage I couldn't tell. I did get a slab shipped from the U.K. once that was dropped into a thin paper mailer that barely fit, and that was all. Fortunately it arrived without a scratch.
  7. Hmmm, I submitted a CA resellers license to ebay last October, and it took about a week to go into effect, but I've had no problem since. Also, no problems with the auction houses.
  8. Tough crowd. This thread closes Sunday. Until then, make your own bundle. Buy two or more books and take 10% off.
  9. Excellent post. Many of the greats are only "distinctive" to the aficionado, in no small part because they were so influential, that their style was frequently imitated or at least incorporated. Of all the names listed, Wolverton stands out the most. A style immediately recognizable once you've seen just one other piece of his work, and which was never really imitated at the time. As refined as Krigstein's style was, he had contemporaries that would at times do work heavily influenced by him, Gene Colan, Ross Andru and Paul Reinman come to mind.
  10. I leave it if asked and a link provided. I don't ask for it, and my feedback thread is well buried, so it's kind of a hassle to dig up the link. Given the more tight knit community on the boards, and that I mostly deal with the same few dozen people as a buyer and a seller, it's never felt as important here as it does on ebay.
