  18. $35 was a lot of money, maybe $200 in today's money for 7 comics only about a decade old. Most ECs were about $5 -$20 apiece back then IIRC, with the sc-fi issues being the most expensive. Relatively speaking, they were expensive for 1950s books, sci-fi and horror from other publishers were generally less than $5, sometimes only a buck or two (who wanted them, not me apparently)
  19. A convention in Cleveland, circa 71 . I got my dad to drive up there from Columbus, taking me and a couple of friends. I think I had about $10 to spend. As I recall, I mostly bought mid 60s Marvels at a 25 cents a pop, no keys. That would come maybe 6 months to a year later when flush with paper route money, I went to the WNCI Columbus comic convention at the Scot's Inn on Sinclair Road (Now a U-Haul facility), and I was able to buy Hulk 1-6 as well as JIM 83, all from the same seller for a total of $35 (probably none better than VG).
  20. Another crime clown cover. I'd probably break this out and read it if it wasn't the HGC, though it's not like it's a title that gets graded frequently. I'm guessing there are quite a few 8.0 or better raws floating around.
  21. A nifty crime clown cover like that would almost be enough for me to break the no photo-cover rule for crime books in my collection.
  22. One of the 3 best Zip covers IMHO, the others being 9 and 22, and there is plenty of competition in the run.
