Add this NPB to your blocked list...
Buyer made an offer on a book. I accepted the offer, then he ghosted me. Buyer did not respond to messages. Opened Unpaid Item Case. Closed.

He had over 230 feedback, but I guess I'll never understand people who bail on their own offers...Honestly, why waste everyone's time?

I live in Canada, and I just tried to order. The only shipping option seems to be UPS Worldwide Saver which costs $32.15 for the guide only. I'll pass on that for now. I don't need it delivered in one day, and I am not willing to pay more in shipping than the price of the book. Let me know CGC when you have a better shipping option.
Same here...Nearly $50 CAD ($36 USD and change) for shipping...I can wait...

@CGC Mike what about the blank UPC variants/editions? I did not see those referenced...

Only the innocent and pure of heart can wield the Power of Thor. Eons of debauchery meant the adults weren't pure enough. Or something like that.
Ahhh guess I missed that part...You'd think wanting to rescue your abducted kids from a madman would make you "worthy", at least temporarily...
-
The one thing that really bothered me was a plot point...
SpoilerWhy didn't Thor, if he could give a bunch of kids the power of Thor, just not give, you know, adult Asgardians from New Asgard his powers, some of whom would presumably be from a warrior class of Asgardians to go fight Gorr? Why would he even need other God's? Why not just do that in the first place? Oh, I know,we wouldn't have had the cool teddy bear shooting electricity out of its eyes scene...Sigh...

I just finished watching it and I am going to echo all the same sentiments...
I'm very glad I did not see it in the theatre, the jokes were too much and not funny, it felt at times like two completely different movies (when Gorr actually appeared), what a wasted opportunity with Gorr and Jane Foster...The whole bit with Zeus was probably one of the dumbest things I have seen in a super hero movie or any movie.
They really turned Thor into a big joke, I hope Marvel realizes they "took it too far" but I doubt they ever will...I would be nice if they could "right the ship" and bring him back to his mythical 'sword and sorcery' roots and less on the trying to be funny.

That's a worry of mine. In my last submission I subbed three copies of the same book. But I spread them out in positions #3, #12, #24, if that makes any sense.
I have done that before too but no idea if made a difference...All came back same grade except 1...

Wow I'm so glad we have new qc ppl.
I don't think I've had a single submission in 2022 come back without issues.
And errors like this are especially frustrating for those of us north of the border, even though not "out of pocket" the annoyance to have to repack and longer waiting time is an extra layer of frustration...

Last question, if I already have a graded book to send, I would have to crack it myself and then window bag it correct? I know, may be a dumb question, but just trying to determine if worth the risk.

I think this is why things like this should stay behind closed doors. Two sides to every story, and when you put this stuff out on the god-blessed internet you invite 99% spectulation mixed in with 1% truth. Not something I would want for myself, but for others… who knows
💯
I know I joked but nothing good can come from airing your personal affairs or issues on the internet. And we just have his side, this guy could have been treating his wife like garbage.
We just don't know and regardless, the reputation of three people and their families will suffer for it too.

I may catch heat for it, but I think the infinity signature was a pretty cool marketing tactic.
I personally would never pay for such a thing but he figured out a way to further monetize/increase revenue from his signature, so more power to him for that.

I have specified the colour and been accommodated most of the time. The last Jim Lee signatures were done in silver as asked. The last Chris Claremont books I had signed were all done in the colour specified except for one book that looks like he signed with a regular pen for some strange reason.
I would advise you to be specific on not only the colour but the location of the signature.
Perfect. Thanks everyone!

I have never participated in a CGC in-house signing event...Can you specify the ink choices for signatures or do you just get what you get?

Man, isn't that the truth. I know people buy on IG, but it just seems so shady and hackneyed. We are lucky we have this place - I tried buying records from a FB group, I got them and they were wildly overgraded. My recourse? Contact the seller, who never responded - since there is no way of registering any sort of feedback, aside from me taking the time to make a comment on every one of his posts that he doesn't grade right - I was just stuck with accepting what I bought.
Ebay is roasting people because they know there's no competition. I mean - roasting - on FVFs. I have been selling my record collection for months. I get charged fees on my sale. On my cost of shipping. On them collecting sales tax (of which I am exempt because I live in Montana). And, I just noticed today, I pay a fee if I have an international buyer that uses the Global Shipping program. I was an avid seller, so I got my fees in the record category down to 13%, but they were 15% a few months ago when I first started selling. It's painful and thankfully my collection is 99% gone, so I can be done with Ebay except for selling things here or there.
All of the above is true...
I live in a small town in Ontario (Canada) so the local buying pool is small and eBay does allow me to have the furthest "reach".
However, because of this I will be sending a test batch of CGC graded books to MCS for consignment, see how that goes.
I have tried selling on Facebook. Hate it. I do have my own Facebook Page though more for promotion when I used to do local shows but I have made a few sales through there, which isn't bad as they are usually my few local regulars. But regularly selling on FB, FB "auctions", etc., hard no.
Same with IG. I do have an IG account and have made a handful of sales but again was more for promo purposes but I do not have the time nor wherewithal to be an "IG influencer".
I am corresponding directy through social media with them...We shall see if/when it gets resolved. If I have to, I will start over but again, that's the nuclear option with them.
The funniest part of all this was a couple days before I was contemplating reopening a store subscription with them and then bam, the glitch appeared.
So far, I am still just restricted...And made a decent sale just last night. As of now, I can still sell, I just can't list new stuff.
Thanks all for reading/commenting 🙂.

Well, it appears the glitch is back.
Apparently their fix was temporary and hoped that their system would "catch up" by then/now.
I guess it has not. Back to the system thinking I owe them money, when I click on their link to make a payment it says I owe zero dollars. So frustrating.
I have already contacted eBay through social media as it was far more effective at getting any kind of movent on.
All of this is just in time for a long weekend too🤨.

I'd wager the time from when you shipped to CGC, to when you got them back was closer to 14-15 months. They were holding them in a room for 2 months before they were even being designated as received.
Now that I think about it, yeah, you are right, were held at least a month...Regardless, glad to have them back and there were no QC issues, slabs look good.

FINALLY got mine back. Delivered yesterday and thankfully no QC issues. From received to return ship, just shy of a year!
Thankfully, these were PC books but still what a poop show.

Well, now that there is some kind of "official" stance from Marvel on these types of shenanigans, maybe CGC will change its stance "moving forward" based on publisher communications?
On 8/16/2022 at 9:02 AM, gregreece said:By participating in our program, please remember that all cover artwork must be created and approved by Marvel. Once submitted and accepted, no retailer has permission to use these comics or art to create new products, edit, or change the published comic in any way. This of course pertains to all past and current comics. We have updated our deal sheets for all retailer variant cover requests moving forward to emphasize these points.
Not likely, but maybe?

I have slow track economy tier books marked as received 9/28/2021.
How do I find out their status now that they are off the tracker? Do I have to call/email?

My Todd McFarlane signing came back.
Overall, very pleased. I am not sure what happened on the #328, but ces't la vie. Of the 13 books, one 9.0, two 9.4's, three 9.6's and 7 9.8's.
And dang, those foils do not scan...Look nice in hand though!
