  1. Not sure if this has been posted yet but...

    https://bleedingcool.com/comics/marvel-did-not-approve-ultimate-fallout-4-acetate-covers-at-c2e2/

"Today, Bleeding Cool has been able to confirm that Marvel Comics did not approve Black Flag's addition of an acetate cover as a further variant, and it is also not something they would permit. I am sure David Gabriel SVP Print, Sales & Marketing at Marvel, is having fascinating conversations with Black Flag Comics right about now, while stopping copycat moves from other retailers. While retailer-exclusive covers have been popular in the market, publishers have to approve them for branding and taste issues, and to avoid possible controversies. Opening it up to anyone to amend covers in this way, and then sell them, is something Marvel will not allow."

If Marvel does send a "cease and desist" to Black Flag citing copyright or some other issue (breach of contract, I have no idea) and the other ones get pulled, if the PUBLISHER of the actual comic forces that, what is CGC's stance on these frakenbooks then?

  2. Also impossible to tell anything from those pics...Sure they look solid in the pic, but...Yeah, no way can grade anything from that.

Maybe for your next sub, do a scan of front and back covers and post here in the Spare a Grade thread. Boardies may be able to help you see something you may have missed prior to sending to CGC.

  3. What they have done to their customers with Economy is a real "dirty".

By having SO many pre-1975 books just "sitting" somewhere, I guess they are not concerned with any potential increased liability exposure?

My 8 books were opened and listed as scheduled for grading, so if the package was opened, where or how exactly are they being protected/stored? how are they keeping track, etc.? Just stacks and stacks and stacks of books in some warehouse?

My 9-28-21 Economy is gone now too. It will be missed. And most of the books in it aren’t mine, but other boardies’. 🤬

I am sure this has been explained somewhere but WHY would books still requiring services that I paid for, fall off my submission tracking? Completed/shipped books I get, but active/pending books? C'mon man!

Just had my Avengers Infinity Quest pinball delivered today and set up in the comic/music room. The repeat playability is insane - I'll be trying to unlock different levels on this game for years.

That looks awesome. Who makes it, where did you pick it up?

Welcome to the club! You picked a good time to start collecting, as many silver age volumes which have been out of print for years have come back into print just in these last couple of months. White whales like Hulk Vol 1, Thor V 1, etc are available for the first time in years.

I think I am waiting on Thor Vol. 1 to come into my LCS?

I like Marvel Horror too...I was surprised to see what Tomb of Dracula Vol. 1 goes for now!

  7. I recently just dipped my toes in the Marvel Omnibus pool. I have ASM Vol. 1 and 2, ASM Michelinie/McFarlane, FF, X-Men, Mutant Massacre (really enjoyed some of the comics as a youngster) and just picked up Incredible Hulk. My plan is to get the Marvel Silver Age "classics" and then whatever else may pique my interest.

Prior to this, I did dabble/pick up some Marvel Masterworks hardcovers and Marvel Premiere hard cover line.

Also, any Spidey fans see this? https://www.foliosociety.com/ca/spider-man.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzbLuqubY9gIVA7_ICh2wYgBiEAYYASABEgLyd_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Production value looks nice. Love the cover, looks sharp. Considering it.
