  1. No, those are the estate sale prices. I went back and they were 25% off so I grabbed them; I figured the rest of the comics were such a good deal, why not? Every comic shown other than the 5 priced ones were < $3. I was third in the door and missed out on "larger" wins, such as Iron Man #1 for $4. The estate people had some keys pulled and priced -- sometimes high, sometimes low -- but also left a lot of the modern "keys" in the random $2 boxes. And don't call me Shirley.
  2. The entire run was there; I picked up the scraps. (Or at least what the other buy didn't know about.)
  3. The majority of my pickups from the estate sale; most happy with the Punisher 100. I've been chasing it for a while.
  4. I, too, know of this estate sale. It was rather epic. I was late for the fantastic finds, but came away quite happy.
  5. Not all huge winners, but recent pickups. Didn't notice the Macross #33 was missing until I took the picture; not sure if it's worth digging through all those random boxes again to find it.
  6. Jeebus that's atrocious. And the price shown as "sold" -- $90 -- is not necessarily true. I do see an actual purchase for $40.
  7. It's a variant, was released yesterday, but doing quite well out of the gate. Not sure if it has legs.... Speaking of legs, compared to his other work, this seems to have a bit of Campbell to it.
  8. I agree -- again, just my opinion. But in terms of overall art -- presentation, spacing, composition -- the FAIREST covers are top notch.
  9. So you think this book has a higher price because it was a gamble? Was Hughes really a gamble at this point? ... all of a year ago?
  10. IMO there are many AH! covers better than that. A lot of overlooked stuff still out there...
  11. Always plugging those Thor 339s. And the next episode heavily features Deathmate: Black.
  12. 1. Welcome to the Boards! 2. I'd buy that for $5 3. Need scans/pictures (multiple preferred) of front and back outside of sleeve. All that being said, this is not a definitive grade as there is a lot to be said for having the comic in-hand.
  13. Great pic. I also love that Faust made it onto the wall with all those big leaguers.
  14. I met a fellow last weekend to buy a near complete Batman New 52 run in a parking lot. He said he had some variants in there, and I flipped through and saw the #25 March variant, the Cooke, and The Mask variant for #40 and made an offer which he accepted. I got around to going through the box today and noticed a lot of the sleeves felt thicker than usual. Turns out from #8 on there was a variant "hidden" in the same sleeve as the regular cover. Here's what I ended up with:
  15. Fantasy Quarterly #1 CGC 9.6 Off-White to White Pages $170
  16. As per usual, I put my copy up on eBay right before the announcement.
  17. Correct, the offers are not universal. I am not sure how they are configured as to timing and recipients. For me, a 10% offer ended late least week (it said for President's Day but ended before 2/20) and a new 10% offer just began yesterday. So 2 10% offers back-to-back when the last offer like this was around Christmas (for me).
  18. You have to sign up for it through the eBay site. I think it has been changed that each purchase = 1% deposit of eBay "bucks". (I forget what the base amount was before.) Then throughout the year they send you messages for up to 10% eBay Bucks (usually with a minimum $50 purchase) for a limited time. Every quarter (? again, not sure on exact timing), all of your eBay bucks are accumulated and given to you as a "certificate" to spend on eBay. http://pages.ebay.com/rewards/faq.html
  19. They keep sending me 10% eBay bucks offers and I keep buying stuff and the sellers keep shipping like fools. A book between 2 pieces of cardboard, not actually taped to the cardboard, inside a manila envelope.
  20. Hey look, the same guy I mentioned about a week ago for being a PIA.
