  1. An ad, which is not particularly important. there is a preview in the back of DC Comics Presents 26 that people seem to be paying quite a bit for. and that Malibu Sun issue with the guy in a big red cape with chains seems to command some money as well. A preview != PREVIEWS.
  2. Except Gambit wasn't on the cover of the X-Men Annual #14, that probably was a big influence with what book became the market favorite. Besides, from the text we now see inside Avenging #9, it's without a doubt Marvel acknowledges Captain Marvel #1 won't come out until a week after Avenging #9 and even makes note of it. OK, I'll admit it. I've seen this cover a million times, but never read the book. Who is that on the cover that kind of looks like Gambit, but maybe a cyborg version? Oh, and this Marvel Wiki (if that counts for anything) still lists this as Gambit's first appearance. http://marvel.wikia.com/Uncanny_X-Men_Annual_Vol_1_1990
  3. I'm so far behind in reading, but I do remember that part!
  4. In case anyone else wants to do it, the issues I inquired about are: Issue #1: Marko, Alana, Hazel, Prince Robot IV, The Will, Lying Cat Issue #2: The Stalk Izabel (Cameo) Issue #3: Izabel (Full Appearance) Issue #4: First Sextillion Slave Girl Issue #6: Klara Barr Issue #8: Gwendolyn Issue #12: D Oswald Heist Issue #17: The Brand Issue #19: Dengo Ginny Wasn't #8 a cameo/intro of Gwen on the last page and then full on #9? (a la Wolverine)
  5. I think it may have a chance at a return, if NBC sticks with it. The first episode was against the World Series and the second episode is on Halloween. Not to mention even when these events are past...it's running on a Friday night. The episode was scattered, trying to pack a lot of story/HB mythology in to 44 mins, but first episodes are notorious for this.
  6. That's another reason my heart can't take it. With more subs coming in (due to the announcement + the relaxing of the Modern tier), will these prices hold (or at least not collapse) for 3+ years?
  7. Found 3 Ms. Marvel #1's sprinkled randomly throughout my boxes; thought I had sold all of them. And now I'm seriously considering CPR-ing a 9.2. My heart can't take it.
  8. Solution: don't sell your comics. Other Solution: Take note of what s/he is asking for and wait a few weeks to see if some major announcement comes out.
  9. Please don't be from the Schaumburg HPB. Great find; best I found at a HPB is a Preacher Preview in 8.0 or so.
  10. Nothing says redemption/learning one's lesson quite like using his/her latest transgression as a sales tactic to take more people's money.
  11. I love clicking on this thread, but I also hate clicking on this thread. The stacks of 9.8 ASM 300's, Teen Titans 44's, X-Factor 6's, etc. put my Revival #1's to shame. Good job, everyone!
  12. Yeah those things are everywhere...for now. Yeah we had this discussion a few months back. The print run is healthy as well, but when I started buying them a few months ago I had np finding them. Now its getting harder. Stocked up (quite healthily) on both covers at C2E2 this year for $1 each. (And there were still many copies I didn't buy.)
  13. Review of #11 and a general overview of the series: http://www.avclub.com/article/lewis-clark-discover-american-horrors-brilliant-ma-210589 Some good publicity.
  14. The biggest worry is fingerprints on the back cover, very easy to do. +1 Did that a couple times going through a stack of copies at my LCS before realizing. Any way to get them off without messing other stuff up?
  15. Some Variants And for everyone scrambling to get a copy of #1 before they reach crazy prices, just look at this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/WYTCHES-1-SNYDER-IMAGE-NM-2014-/400786493338?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item5d50bc8f9a There will be many to go around; perhaps too many.
  16. "#26 ALPHA FLIGHT #17 (MARVEL 1998) 1st Big Hero 6. Sales up to $40.00 for this new key issue before the new movie from Disney appears." It is what it is. There is confusion around the "true" 1st appearance: printing dates, CGC labels, creators's wishes, comic vs. film, etc. This isn't the first time this has happened, and it won't be the last. On the bright side, this means all issues are selling well; way above what anyone paid, so enjoy it.
  17. Well, we know he's active: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=8090822#Post8090822
  18. No, I'm aggiez12 on E-bay. I have no idea who the other guy is. Just pointing out the auction to the group. I wish I have another 8 copies of that book. I'm watching the X-force #2 lots to gauge how my auction did And seriously, my definition of "high grade" is typically anything starting with a 9... Gotcha; now we're all on the same page. I wish I had more copies, too. Several times in the past few months I've passed over X-Force #2 and picked up #11 instead -- as that *may* be a 1st appearance issue. Even for $2 I wouldn't have lost that much if #2 never panned out; sometimes I'm too cheap. My NM X-Force #2 & #11 combo went for $22 on eBay. Sounds like that's at the low end. I always wonder on things like this if there are just too many auctions/sales for the money to spread around.
