I was reading this thread and was going through my comics at the same time. I saw this “P” marking so of course I thought it was something special. Based on the dates, not a Penn, though it does seem there are a preponderance of “P” marks on comics from the golden age for whatever reason.

Wow. Have to not spend for a while but I would have made an exception for this. I didn’t see this Baker but there was a Cole I was tracking I probably should have bought. Hopefully the new owner needed that issue and enjoys it.

For whatever reason, I never bought in to the idea all of this "new comic money" was coming from crypto offshoots (I don't have another viable option; I'm still confused). I don't know if this dip will tip any hands as to what was happening, but it will be interesting to see what, if anything, happens next -- large sell-offs (which will be difficult to track on a per-person basis), lower buy prices, etc. -- through Q1/April of this year.

Got caught up. Finally opened and counted. Unfortunately, The Horrors is a little worse than expected with a tear on the front cover. The rest look good.

I saw this auction pop up on Facebook as a sponsored ad, with the golden age lots up-front and center. I was interested at first but saw Friday night the prices were already out of the "got a deal" range and kept on moving along. Without the Facebook exposure I wonder what they would have ended at. Unless it's an extremely local auction house with limited/no internet exposure (i.e. is not on hidbid, etc), it's difficult to get deals.

MCS is about to get a decent-sized consignment from me of mostly Golden Age stuff. I have consigned to them before, though rarely, and not on GA; we'll see how it goes. Side question to @mycomicshop: Can your weekly or "premiere" auction wins be paid via credit? Or do those have to be cold, hard cash?

Definitely a case of "right place, right time", luck, and persistence. But that's usually how these GA copies are found these days, right (at least for reasonable prices)?
