  1. Interglobal? I would have put it in a box and remembered it years later. Glad you were able to get much more for it if it helps you collect other stuff you are more interested in.
  2. It’s closer to 15% than 10, not to mention that extra squeeze on your shipping charges.
  3. And I passed on it at $50 as it was just a weird/fun conversation piece for the collection.
  4. People (sellers and buyers) would migrate if there was a decent alternative. None of the other sites or apps which have huge user bases (Amazon, Facebook, Instagram) make searching for collectibles very easy or reliable. Amazon has the best shot but I’m pretty sure they’re doing just fine selling new goods.
  5. 1. It was a joke 2. It was a joke 3. It was a joke but the eBay fees are a killer and not a joke. I don’t understand why another competitor hasn’t shown up yet. Basically the key thing they have is a decent Search function.
  6. That cements it; sending in a batch next week. Thanks for the info. Have to get in on this comic craze.
  7. 2 months isn't as bad as I thought TaT would be. However, if there is a major hold-up to even get to Received...
  8. In a roundabout way, I actually ended up selling his own comics back to him.
  9. To digress again for a bit, comic store owners/managers really are a different breed. I don't think one store I've been to -- even in the same chain -- is the same as any other. One store in my area is having a sale so I stopped by. I dug through several sticker-priced and also $1 boxes and eventually found a nice stash of Golden Age books. I bring up to the counter a pile of Golden Age, 4 $1 books, and 2 priced books (< $10 each). While I'm counting pages and debating about spending hundreds of dollars on GA, the owner decides to look up my $1 comics and starts asking me twenty questions. He is so concerned I found a few $10 books in those boxes he calls a worker over and tells her to remember those issues b/c they are not $1 (these are recently "hot" books) in a rather upset fashion. His $1 boxes are not organized outside of publisher, and about half are bagged/boarded so no way she would ever see them again and I should be rewarded for finding them -- and knowing they are good -- but never mind. He was so consumed by these $1 books he almost ignored the $300 books in front of him I wanted to buy.
  10. Thanks for the input. To clarify — and I should have said this upfront — it would be about four short boxes of a collection. No idea if anyone has history on a shipment of that scale — both in terms of cost and packing correctly.
  11. I know we have a few boardies from France on here, so reaching out for some help. I have some questions about rates and shipping carriers from France to Chicago, IL. PM me, please. Thanks!
  12. A lot of sore Sallys in this thread. In all of these cases it appears someone complains a price is too high and instead of negotiating is offended and loses the item to another buyer who offers a fair price for both parties.
  13. Yes to slabbing. Selling depends on how long it takes and what happens between now and then.
  14. we are very much a like Alas, only 4 newsstands in those piles. It really is a 1:100 ratio, as eBay has taught us.
  15. There may be a few floating around in other boxes as well.
  16. Is this price for a 9.0 real? https://www.ebay.com/itm/203298929224
