  1. Very nice; is it complete? One of the last sci-fi covers i need.
  2. I do understand misplacing a book; happens to all of us. It's the immediate refund (as it if will never be found) and the lack of a note saying "misplaced it, we will look, it may take a couple days" that is throwing flags.
  3. OP asked both questions: Is the comic expert real and Is the find real. I'm uncertain what Timely is saying/answering, hence my question back to him.
  4. i assume he means the setup of the discovery is fake. or at least a reenactment...or maybe theres some "seeding" of items for them to "find" True, but it could go the other way. They find something cool in the wild, buy it, and decide to keep it. Need more background to know the order of events.
  5. I'm not saying the show isn't staged (I have no clue). nor do I specifically recall this episode, but how do the items being in Mike and Frank's collection mean it's fake?
  6. What'd you pick up? Still in OH? Still have that IH181 you traded for?
  7. Good luck, Hector. I'm hoping this show is better than the last two I've attended. I may be there Sunday morning to pick up some scraps.
  8. Very cool site. Do you have any more info on the Grips #1 Special Limited cover? I found one a while ago in a huge collection of indie comics.
  9. Sorry, but wrong section.
  10. Looking for a Dealer/Exhibitor pass for Thursday. PM me if you have an extra.
  11. It is possible someone made him a private offer. I don't know this person so it wasn't me. I have always had a difficult time finding this book. Most likely, yes. Was listed for ~10.5 hours before taken down. Though eBay is making it extremely difficult to contact sellers for those private deals. And here is the item# for a direct search: 264333545811.
  12. Doesn't appear to be (directly) sold through eBay; item is "no longer available for sale". Also, it's hard to find this listing on eBay; sometimes it shows up, sometimes not.
  13. This one immediately sprang to mind (not my listing): https://www.ebay.com/itm/Venus-Domina-1-Dave-Stevens-cover-1996-Verotik-Glenn-Danzig/332986135184?hash=item4d87853290:g:ZQIAAOSwC9hcKT4h
  14. Lasted 7 mins. Appears the sellers lists an auction with a Best Offer option. That is an awfully small amount of time to notice, send an offer, have offer accepted, and have no one put in a starting bid. I've put in Best Offers on books without an auction and no one get back to me in 24 hours. My favorite are the auctions that start at $0.99 with a Best Offer option; the seller usually never responds to the offer before someone else bids $1. What's the point? 15. Rumored to be in the GOTG 3 movie. Not sure how high it can go since it already had a hefty price tag for a copper book and there is a ton in high grade. I think the Canadian price variant is the way to go with this one. Potential dumb Q: Are all of the Canadian price variants newsstands?
  16. This book has been up and down multiple times; any particular reason this time?
  17. Don't forget Cap #217. I really hope I held onto some of the copies I hoarded. I buy up a stuff very pre-hype pricing, wait for the price surge, never see it, sell, then it explodes. Ive sold both in raw very well for the last couple of years. Currently 217 sells for me, but I can see Hulk 234 catching up. I went back and looked; out of probably a dozen of each (Hulk and Cap) I found 2 Caps. There are a couple more boxes to go, but I think I included the Hulks in a couple short boxes for $1 each.
  18. Based on my own experience, this PayPal refund policy will wreak havoc on raw GA sales.
  19. The ONLY value to the seller for this is to see what the actual market interest price is for that item and how close it comes to their reserve price. Then they can go ahead and decide if it's worth listing for a price that might sell. Generally a waste of time but if it's a book that might be in high demand they don't risk leaving money on the table. If it's a book that has little to no interest, they then know not to try selling it on ebay. One reason I might do this is if I had a rare comic that doesn't have much recent sales data on ebay or GPA I could put it up for auction with a ridiculous reserve price and see where the interest is and if it gets to where I'd be comfortable dropping the reserve price to near the current bid price I could do that or relist with it at that price. If it shoots past my ridiculous reserve then I know I've not left any money on the table. If I get nothing but crickets, then I have my answer. The only downside is many will ignore auctions with reserve prices so it won't be a complete market view. Seems you've talked yourself out of the potential value in a Reserve auction. Can't determine a real market interest/price if one is immediately turning off part of that base.
