  1. All I have are raws. Doubt I have enough time to get them graded but all still a good profit. And I’m keeping this thread on track.
  2. The Boys is heating up after the Prime release. Hoping to check out an episode or two tonight. May be getting ahead of myself but the formula for streaming shows and selling appears to be to wait for the release (and be good).
  3. What are the readily identifiable markings?
  4. Does anyone know the criteria used when sending an offer on a item to interested buyers? For instance, I have a comic for sale with 5 watchers. When I hit "send offer" I would expect it to go to those 5, but it says at the top it's only going to 1 interested buyer.
  5. @mycomicshop Are you able to say if this item — Adventures of Superman 443 Mall variant 4.0 — was sold on your site?
  6. In my experience, MCS's consignment items mean they have them in hand. I don't think it's the case of a stolen image. Most likely taken down from MCS/eBay b/c it was purchased.
  7. Um... that would be: Adventures of Superman #443 1988 Ordway Mall Variant VG 4.0 I'm basing that on onlyweaknesskryptonite's image, since the listing seems to have disappeared. Correct. In my haste I thought Ordway Mall was the name of one of the malls. Doh. The listing i was referring to was the one captured by @onlyweaknesskryptonite for the Washington Park Mall.
  8. I do not think I am knee jerking - maybe you are. (I'm not sure when bashing others because they don't agree with geek minded sites became in vogue or acceptable around here ) I haven't read any of the comments on he geek minded sites as you call them. I prefer to use my own judgement and not that of others. Maybe I have only seen her better roles and have been lucky enough to miss her subpar efforts. Either way, I still stand by my original post that I think she will do a very good job as Thor. Time will tell. I think things are getting misconstrued -- either by my poor quoting, my poor word choices, or other -- in our back-and-forth. What I'm trying to say: I believe Portman to be a good actress, overall. I give every Marvel movie a chance based on their track record over 20+ films. However, many geek-minded sites (and their commentors) immediately trashed her AND the choice of a female Thor without anything beyond those 2 bullet points.
  9. What about the Eternals books? Sell now or wait for a trailer? By no means do I know how prices will shake out (no one does); all I know is when I get home today I'm putting my ToD #10 up for sale. I think, for most movies, near-peak pricing is very close to the announcement; in rare cases it may go up later -- perhaps closer to release (but not too close!). I can make near-peak money now, or I can hem-and-haw for quite some time (as no release YEAR has been set -- BLADE is phase 5) about when to sell. As for Eternals...it's an ensemble movie so perhaps best comparison would be Guardians. See how those prices compared from announcement to release date. Listed ToD #10 at 9pm, sold by the time I woke up today. Thank you, Kevin Feige!
  10. I agree with @Shoomanfoo - she’s a very talented actress. Not every role is a home run but I do feel she has great potential in this role. I wasn’t saying you were incorrect. Just so much knee-jerk nerd reaction as usual. Though it’s very interesting the actress chosen appears to be getting more venom than having a female Thor.
  11. I take it you haven't read the comments re: her acting &/or a female Thor on any "geek"-minded sites, or over in Comics General.

  13. An auction 8.5 of ToD #10 is over a grand with nearly three days to go. Insane. These are the gravy times, collectors, sell now.
  14. How are TMNT 51 and 95 the first appearance of Jennika?
  15. I read this blog by this narcissist on comicbookspeculation.com who writes some "weekend update" like he thinks he's on SNL or something. That website is my main source for investment/speculation tips and tricks. OK, so...you. I was merely commenting on prognosticators in any medium (not singling you out here) who throw out a bunch of predictions, one actually hits, then they claim they knew it all along, gleefully ignoring the incorrect ones.
  16. You should read things rather than guessing - go a feeling you'll be right more than twice a day too. Sure, I'll play. So what else did you read other than a big news tweet?
  17. Yeah. So did A ton of people. There were podcast, video blogs, spec site news alerts and articles on comicbookspeculation.com, in facebook and mewe groups, etc. I think there was a key alert from the key collector app. I'm surprised you didn't see it coming. Vaughan brokered that deal with :Universal a minute ago and everyone has been waiting for the announcement of which show was getting done next for about 9 months. Interesting. I do not read spec sites so I am out of touch in that arena. But I'm guessing people who write articles about an upcoming tv show/movie deal whenever a creator announces "big news" aren't correct 100% of the time, right? Broken clock and all that. Or is there a science to knowing which tweets are "for real" and which are "for show"?
  18. Aha! For once I've done the opposite (purely on accident, of course). Right before the announcement I sent in a couple #1's for a pre-screen. Don't know if they'll cut it (my Sandman issues always seems to have soft spines) but at least they'll get a press along the way. It turns out even better. Gave a boardie price quotes on a Sandman #1 9.8 and Editorial #8 in February but he never got back to me. Was flipping thru my slabs and saw the #1; thought I actually sold that one to him.
  19. Yes, that's enough to buy at that time. And now is when you would be selling for a nice quick profit. So many writers/creators/etc tweet announcements all the time; the majority of them do not lead to shows or movies. It's usually merch, a new arc, a hiatus, new artist, new writer, etc etc.
  20. 5 weeks ago: So from that self-admitted vague teaser, you deduced it was picked up for TV?
  21. Not that I recall. Had a return earlier this year through eBay and printed a return label from them.
