  1. Do you know which of these are live action and which are animated?
  2. Well he was right in the past. If Moonknight and Ms Marvel are announced at D23 I would be more comfortable saying he's right all of the time. So who knows. I was just saying why the books have seen a sudden spurge of interest. Not saying one way or the other, but even a casual comics fan would be confused with a Captain and a Ms Marvel. Well, there you go. Two for two on D23. And I am zero for one on Capt/Ms.
  3. Someone got a nice Baker deal on eBay.
  4. FYI: Code WIZARD20 should still work to get 20% off.
  5. Thank you for this tid-bit. Hoped it was not just me that had my submissions go poof.
  6. I actually think he graded it a VF. Didn’t look like a VF from the scans; wanted to know what it really is.
  7. Final try: If any dealer/exhibitor has an extra badge, please send me a private message to work something out. I can only attend on Thursday and can't make it at night (the only hours available to the public). This also means the badge is available the other 3 days for someone else to use.
  8. Weird eBay glitch? Glad you eventually ended up with both books you originally won at auction. Let us know when they show up.
  9. I just saw it as number 6 on this list. https://comics.gocollect.com/guide/hottest Well, there's the problem.
  10. I can only assume this picture was taken in 1997... Taken directly after the D--- in a Box music video.
  11. Does it also depend on if the tear goes through artwork or not?
  12. I watched this episode last night as well. I think the comic pricer (and all "specialists" they call up) are told to give the NEAR MINT price to make the show more interesting -- knowing the price will come way down as they already received pictures of a beat to he-- comic. I was also surprised how the two didn't negotiate much from the pricer's original estimates. However, given the overhaul the owner did to that poster, and his daughter's comment regarding "fixing things up", probably touched up his comics as well. All that said, I also wouldn't mind seeing what else was in those boxes as the two have limited knowledge so may have left some cool non-superhero stuff behind.
  13. But doesn't it also go the other way? People are usually less inclined to bid if they see hidden/private bidders b/c of the shill assumption.
  14. Since eBay partially masks bidders' info, what is the point for a seller to do private bidding?
  15. No, but I have seen him post large batches of nice Golden Age books in the past. However, this selling, then relisting, then marking sold, and private bidding...not a good look. Though I have not been dealing in GA that long -- definitely not as long as many on this forum -- as of late it seems to have become extremely cutthroat, dubious, and rife with drop-ship type consumers.
  16. They were really great and sold like people knew it...GS 10 and 13, TAR 40, 43, 44, CL 27 and even a nice DS 11...I wanted all of them but was not close in the bidding...I know Rick was looking for a GS 13 but who knows who won it... Funnily enough, the GS 13 is back up for auction: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Going-Steady-13-1955-Matt-Baker/183911673135?hash=item2ad1fd6d2f:g:XHwAAOSwL81dSaRH I'll guess he's looking for close to Sunday's hammer price, but as to why he didn't offer to the second bidder and instead went this route... Oh, and all of his auctions are private bidding.

  18. Two 9.4s sitting on eBay for 18k right now so shouldn’t be higher than that. Shouldn't, but might.
  19. One of the few eBay "enhancements" that is helpful. Now to get them to let users actually see the Best Offer sold price and listing history greater than 3 months...
  20. So then, to be clear, you think the following scenario is OK....say a seller has a CGC-graded copy of Eternals #1 in 9.8. Today, FMV for that book is about $1300. Now that the movie has been announced, it is reasonable to expect that this book could reach $2000 by the time the movie comes out. You're OK paying that price because of what the movie might do? People here aren’t buying on a media announcement, right?
