  1. Not to shoehorn in, but I just got a second copy in. Unfortunately the cover is detached, if that matters.
  2. FYI - eBay automatically enrolled me in International Shipping today and I had to manually opt out. I am already setup to not sell internationally so I don't see how I would want to / need to ship internationally...but I opted out just in case b/c eBay does some shady stuff. You should review your settings just in case.
  3. CG, I follow Bry and he consistently acknowledges mistakes (financial and grading), provides a collector and investor perspective, and reminds viewers that these are his opinions. With respect to the board's existence, I think he was having some fun on someone's behalf. I've been following him for over 2 years and back in those days, we discussed this board. Did he classify this AF 15 de-slab, no one will remove the CT, press, send back for grading, receive same grade, try to sell for less than alleged original offers as a mistake?
  4. Per the site: Listed for $40k. You'd think he'd take up some of those earlier offers of $45-50k...
  5. I'm interested in the story and would watch just about any documentary on comics. However, as the son (?) continues to try to milk every single angle for every single cent it puts a bad stink on the entire endeavor. I haven't read any of the articles (only heard/read commentary here and elsewhere) but was the son originally a comic book enthusiast?
  6. While the overall price went up, the original buyer / new seller likely lost money in the end.
  7. Huh? Never mind; went back and re-read stuff. How did a few set of retailers know? Did anyone care the first several times GI Joe and Transformers shared a Universe or a comic book (secondary market-wise)?
  8. YMMV but you may have to go to extreme lengths to "prove" the books are worth what you put on the form.
  9. Yes, this is a completely new phenomenon thanks to < insert specific generation or president or party or buzzword or whatever is upsetting you today > where some people don't care about their job. Never happened before.
  10. If my info is correct, the Buyer is on the boards. PM me if you want to take a shot at it.
  11. Apparently it was eventually sold to the original buyer. Buyer claimed the book but was taking too long to pay so the seller re-offered it for sale and put it up on eBay. The original Buyer came back and paid soon after.
  12. Wonder if the buyer will ever find out it's not a first print. One can tell from the blood in the 2nd 'T' -- but if he/she didn't notice when bidding, who's to say it's noticed later.
  13. I am being sarcastic overall, but 16k subscribers for a comics channel isn't bad; roughly 1/3-1/4 of CT101. But back to the comic: He also has to pay the presser/CT-remover, shipping, walkthrough grading, and maybe some other stuff. Not to mention those quoted HA prices INCLUDE BP and commission, so... I don't know what he's trying to do here if he legitimately received a $45k offer as-is.
  14. Dude's got a bustlin' YouTube channel where he slings knowledge and comics -- sometimes a little of both! Don't question him.
  15. These two are the ones I am most surprised with -- both in terms of how much they can change a comic's appearance and that CGC apparently cannot catch them. This one may also fall under one or more the above, but to add: Completely disassembling a comic for pressing, lightening, or both that CGC may not catch.
  16. Hurry up and apply for that QC manager position so you can take credit for dramatic decreases and get that big bonus.
  17. There appears to be a lot of new pulp buyers leaping into the fray that have no real background knowledge of the market. 1940s Weird Tales issues are quite common. I agree with new Pulp buyers. From a strictly Heritage perspective, I am routinely amazed their pool of bidders (and not just Pulps) somehow don't seem to know eBay or MCS (or a venue other than Heritage) exist. And these sales usually set a benchmark for other sellers for a price which cannot be achieved yet are now the "going rate". Not to mention from a seller perspective, of that $1000 sale you really are getting $750 or so.
  18. Another example: Definitely a cool cover but I'm sure with a little time you can find a very similar copy for a fraction of the price. While Pulps overall have increased in price, whatever Heritage is up to is borderline insane. I wonder what they're up to over there...
