  1. Sorry; forgot there are so many versions of this. It's cover A. Here is an example (not mine; use the zoom on the bottom front cover to see a distinct line/edge); and another; and one more. Attempted to show it below:
  2. On the #1 First Prints, is there a line at the bottom edge of the front cover on others' copies? Or is it just me?
  3. I give them AOL trial CDs to make into cool store mobiles.
  4. Pics of the color touch? Did you see the color touch after purchase or did a grading company find it?
  5. That was my favorite part. "You should buy this X-Men #1 (1991), just look at the prices for the other Marvel (Uncanny) X-Men #1; you should probably buy all of them."
  6. Are you Canadians able to use this in conjunction with the 6% eBay Bucks promo?
  7. Just imagine if she posted in italics.
  8. I guess everyone is just going to ignore the bulge in the room.
  9. This topic made it to a third page?! I like Hector because he goes to the same HPBs as me and manages to find untold treasures, while I find caches upon caches of TROUBLE.
  10. A lot of push-back on this topic; are you the seller? It's on the seller to purchase insurance for the item, opt for tracking, and/or signature upon delivery. If the item does not arrive to the buyer in the condition stated in the listing, all fault (money-wise) is on the seller. That is why the seller is asked if they want insurance when going through eBay's shipping process and not the buyer at the time of purchase. It is up to the seller to build this in to the cost (item + shipping); if he/she chooses to skimp on this part, it comes back to them. Yes, the buyer could have made more inquiries into specific shipping, but it is still not a guarantee of method and/or secure packing.
  11. Perhaps I'm only thinking this through as a back issue buyer, but every year my LCS(es) garner huge crowds on FCBD; they have lines wrapping around the store to get 3 free comics, at least a superhero or two -- or an artist doing sketches -- but never offer any of the priced merchandise at a discount. As others have said, "free" comics actually cost money to the retailers. So why have a free (to the consumers) day of free comics, free cos-players, and free sketches (a donation to Heroes if you want), but not entice anyone to actually spend money with a discount?
  12. Ahh, so that's why items on my watch list disappeared today.
  13. Most likely not the case, but what does the indica say about where it was printed?
  14. Thanks for the info. This is nothing but my own experience, but this foil/non-foil duo seems to be heavily tilted towards the foil edition, in general, and in comparison to other foil/non-foil issues (of which both are direct and not one direct and one newsstand). In the past couple years, however, I do see more copies of the orange cover coming to market where as before it was difficult to find more than five at one time.
  15. As soon as I saw it, it became one of my favorite Punisher books. Anyone know the background on it? What type of "variant" was it?
  16. Wasn't me, but yikes. https://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Batman-Adventures-11-12-and-16-Aug-1993-DC-VF-ManBat-Batgirl-Joker-/222941934086?hash=item33e85ff206%3Ag%3AbXoAAOSwtida3huK&nma=true&si=GmxISQcQ77QcXCmkiHqbtgKaET8%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  17. I was double-lucky on this find. 1. Apart from these, the show was a complete dud; it was, in general, a non-comic show. Those who brought comics as an afterthought only had junk. The comic dealers who were setup were priced above-and-beyond. Example: A raw X-Men #94 marked as a VF+ for $1000. You can buy a graded one for ~ $560. Dealer said he was negotiable on prices but where do you even start when he's that far off? 2. I got to this particular booth late and a buyer was already making a large stack of GA; I saw the Rangers #25 go into his pile and I knew he'd be taking all the good stuff. He went up to the seller with a stack of 25-30 comics. Seller said how about $325 and the buyer came back at $300. The seller wouldn't budge and neither would the buyer; buyer walked away over $25. As soon as the exchange was over I asked the seller (who was still holding the stack) if I could take a look since the other guy passed. Seller said this was from an OO collector; he had already pulled out the Timelys including Captain America and some Marvel Mystery. I was OK with the scraps.
