That happens when I back up through pages to see which threads were updated.....if I go straight to "my stuff" it'll revert to showing everything as having been read already. To avoid that, I read from the last post in a thread I actually read, through the end.......and then back up through the pages until I'm at the "my watch list" screen that I start with when I login.

Nope, no kids.....between the subterranean jungle fortress, the undersea hideout and my comic budget.....I'd have nothing left for children's: food, clothing, etc....LMAO! I even had to stop construction recently on my moonbase because of the economic downturn. I've definitely made certain sacrifices to live like Dr. Moreau. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I make it work.

I just don't agree that they're hokey. Point in case: Batman. Batman's been hewn from the same era and has stood the test of time. The issue has always been EXPOSURE. Who can say that the earliest Superman movies with Christopher Reeve #1/#2 were bad? They were box-office smashes of the day. ANYTHING can be translated into today's society with modern overtones fairly easily. Ever hear of the "NEW 52"? Is that hokey or antiquated? If your complaint is that the 'costumes' don't translate into modern analogues well, then that's another easy retool: look at both Thor and Captain America in the marvel movies......both contemporary takes on the characters. It takes some folks with talent, dedication and a love for the characters to accomplish what people say is "impossible". I still call B.S. and think there's been nothing but negative hype from the folks that stand to reap the biggest reward from a DC/WB flop......Disney/Marvel. If you think otherwise, you may want to revise your naivete.

The more I think about it, the more I call B.S. on the whole negative take... You've got Warner Bros. studios that is behind anything that gets developed. They are a powerhouse alone simply because of their success with the Dark Knight Trilogy. I don't have to reach beyond that to see that their efforts will be fruitful in the end. Yes, they are taking a different approach.....No they haven't developed things as well as Marvel/Disney has in terms of a long term/building momentum release for numerous properties.....BUT the intellectual property is certainly ripe for picking......and you've got so much money on the line as evidenced by past performance. $ talks, the rest walks as far as I'm concerned. WB is in the habit of making that off of movies and other media....with the insurgence of interest in comics overall on television and on the big screen there's absolutely no way they aren't going to continue to make moves forward to capitalize on that. I do agree they may be in a wait and see pattern with Man of Steel....because admittedly for whatever reason that last Superman never took off. They have committed to rebooting the Batman franchise.....how many F-ing incarnations of Batman are we going to see? They would only be doing this to bring congruity to their DC universe.....similar to how Marvel rebooted Spiderman for seemingly no reason.....it's obvious we've seen alot of Spiderman just like Batman.....they did it simply to have the latitude to incorporate the properties together.....just as they are rebooting FF......since they had the last human torch from the prior FF movies become Captain America....they have to reboot so they can have an entire Marvel cinematic universe that is cohesive. I see each studio making broad strokes to create the road ahead for their properties en masse and with maximum uniformity. It's quite possible that DC feels the comic movie 'bubble' will burst after massive flooding of the market by Marvel....which has 3 or more waves of movies planned. That is a salient reason why they may have taken the fast track....get while the getting is good because Marvel is mopping up the box office..... Ultimately these things take their own time to evolve disregardless of the desires of anyone..... I'm certain a -script will solidify, a director will be attached and things will move along at the pace they can.

I've heard the argument that if Sixth Gun get's completely picked up people are going to debate which issue is more highly valued: the FCBD or the #1. I don't personally have an answer, but I'm curious what has happened in the past given similar circumstances and properties? What has prevailed in terms of price? These 'preview' versions and FCBD versions of comics or the $ print run?

I recall the same criticisms made before the first X-men movie.....all the naysayers. It's quite literally the same broken record of speculation until the final product. I do have to agree that I'm in no rush to see a JLA movie that isn't up to snuff, that being said if the right folks are hired and put to the task it isn't an impossible one. We'll see how wet the appetites of Warner Bros. and DC get when the 2nd wave of Marvel properties gets underway.

I agree, however I do buy stuff from the UK.....and I've paid premiums primarily because of the exchange rate. It has to be something I REALLY want to take it on the chin like that......possibly a 2000 A.D...or some ST TNG / DR. WHO variants not readily available anymore. But you're right, they aren't as many US auctions with sellers willing to send worlwide as there are that will ship domestically.

WTF? you can buy a new mint copy in any comic shop on the planet and get it CGC yourself. or just ebay that . MY god at times people are just stupid. damn makes me wonder whether I sold get my issue 1 2 3 CGC.They still brand new. Been ruminating on this one......I believe this has more to do with people that have "want" lists on Mycomicshop.... Every time something comes in stock you're looking for you get an email blast. If you don't act quickly enough...before you log into your want list it's snapped up and gone. I think if folks are reliant upon this store (or a similar store), and they think generally that Ebay is a rip or that their local comic store won't have what they need (which is typical around me)....they are bound to do exactly what has occurred: create auctions that a few folks are getting competitive over merely because they don't have a large radius of places in their comfort zone.
