  1. Not too shabby: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181085053275?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
  2. ....comes a ginormous payday.... utility bill Or you could get a motivated electrician to jump your meter.
  3. Regarding that statement above .....don't kid yourself.....I made the mistake of opening my trap on one or more occasions at the local LCS.....I KNOW those mofos are scoping out the boards to get the skinny. I was practically mind raped by the assclown at the LCS I tried to order a SOG variant from. I could hear the cash register noises going off in this cat's head. A super-ultra-hyper-secret cone of silence PM communique would be most appropo. Right now I'm twisting my villain moustache in anticipation....
  4. , i am seriously thinking of making one giant PM, that has like 100 people in it, and we can all just dump tips into it, and block out the lurker/google/corvettenights type leechers. Kind of like the CGC Illuminati??? yup, but with villians too Where do I sign up for that? Do you provide villain costumes or do I have to bring my own?
  5. He didn't tell you about the contract he signed in blood, and the ever lingering smell of sulphur.
  6. I think ES laid the smack-down and told everyone that it's 500 copies per run. No more, no less.
  7. And that's all perfectly cool....no harm no foul there especially if you love and want to keep those comics (and you actually know the truth)....BUT if you're going to resell or encapsulate.....it's going to result in the same issues: questions about authenticity....and then there are those that just don't want a signature anywhere just because that's their preference. If I were to get something signed these days, it would be at a con and it would be with the CGC ready to grab and slab.
  8. There are ALWAYS exceptions to every rule.....I've purchased signed comics before, and I don't TOTALLY hate on them...but I love seeing an unblemished and pristine cover. Heck, I'd take a 9.8 Turtles #1 first print any which way but loose....including signed! And FTR, if you're gonna get it signed.....do it up like that comic above (with the CGC oversight)!
  9. Have you ever seen these 'certificates' people have been issued? They often look like they've been printed out at home with some budget program. They're so easy to counterfeit, and pictures of people signing things are available freely all over the internet. Hell I could dig up a few in a coupla moments and churn out a certificate that looks better than the ones I've seen from legitimate places. That said, without the CGC or some other group that can actually certify that the comic was signed by whomever......it's fairly easy to fake the hell out of those sorts of things. I avoid raws that are signed for that reason alone.....and they don't come with a certificate often either. So IMHO it can potentially impact the value of the book from that perspective alone....but then again I happen to prefer non-signed comics. I hate when someone scrawls all over the front cover. If I were going to get anything signed, it would be inside the book somewhere.....AND it would be where the CGC could affirm it was indeed signed......those GLODS will always leave you wondering if in fact you've got a legitimate signature.
  10. .....you're right, but since our compadre is from Canada, there wasn't much else I could suggest and insinuate the Canadian connection. Our neighbors to the north are synonymous with beasters after all. FTR: The beasters aren't ALL bad. I guess it depends on who, what, where and how much. I'm sure Mr. Linguini knows his way around the dank.....so no offense intended. Gimme the EC anyday tho.
  11. You grab a bunch o' beasters for the holiday bro?
  12. I need to figure out how to use this phrase in an everyday conversation... It works especially well when at a bar picking up chicks. Tell them that your family jewels are so over the top you have two Pinkerton guards watching them full time. They're bound to tear your clothes off like groupies on 5 hits of ecstasy.
  13. So there are boardies ready to jump on a Sixth Gun #1 9.8 CGC for $750? If that's the case, I won't even be heading to the bay when mine get back. I've got three that were so mint they required a Pinkerton guard for transfer to the CGC..... Already off to the slabbage patch. And before anyone loses their mind pointing out that you're not supposed to sell stuff in these threads.....I'm not. Just reflecting on what I've seen posted and letting my stream of consciousness do the walking. Boardies > Ebayers......viva la boards!
  14. Ok guys, I actually need some ebay advice, despite being a powerseller . Have my Sixth Gun 1 and 2 9.8's coming back. High price with o/bo or run as auction? I'm leaning toward higher price/best offer. Appreciate input. Tree Fiddy BIN FTW!!!
  15. Not mind-blowing, but interesting nonetheless: SUPERIOR SPIDERMAN # 1 CGC 9.8. LONDON SUPER COMIC CON VARIANT. FIRST ISSUE! http://www.ebay.com/itm/300866478656?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 9 hrs left, with 12 bidders up to $86.00. I haven't seen too many of these slabbed yet.....waiting to see what the peak $ amt. will be. Very cool cover BTW.
  16. Where's it for sale at? Yeah that ..... Stop holdin out on us bro!
  17. Minimal compression or printer/shipper damage noted top left corner spine. Color breaking spine tick(s) midspine. Color break proximal to tank gun barrel distal end. Some of the same downgrading nonsense on back cover that happens on practically all PP with a black border or black background. Is it a 9.8, nope....and a press won't fix that either. Is it a 9.6/9.4? My guess is yes. Is it NM? Yeah, but that's not my kinda NM. And the price...@ $499 I've seen a lot better raws for BIN.....the only consolation is there's a make an offer option....doubtful they'd take what it's really worth when they're shooting for the stars with their opening volley.
  18. On a side note, whilst I was looking for pictures of hookers I came across this gem: I think I found my new favorite avatar
  19. That's why I always ask them to DOUBLE BAG....and board!
  20. Trust me TBP.....I'd find it extraordinarily interesting to know all the factoids involved in the reselling.... But on the surface the only thing I can see is the $ value and purported quality of the auctions. For all I know every single auction contains the same exact comic.... And you're right, there appears to be no shortage of PPs.....that being said....alot of those "NM" listings are a load of c-rap.......some of the stuff they're pushing as NM is just straight up criminal..... It feels like the old shell game.....which one has the high grade underneath it?
  21. No, but if I could I'm not certain it would be relevant. What the next person is willing to pay is however.
