I relate. (I live in a regional part of Australia.. It’s more than 100km to the nearest brick & mortar store and it’s very rare for me to find slabs I collect shipping from Australia… so I’m 100% online purchases as well. I could drive down to the store - but between work and kids it just doesn’t seem manageable. We have one convention that comes to town, so we’re not spoiled for choice there, but it’s been kaput during the pandemic. I will go to the next one that I can though.. just to see books in the wild!)

From March 2022 (about a year old now)...
    https://comics.gpanalysis.com/news/2021/investing-in-cgc-grade-comics-is-higher-grade-better
    (clipping from the article)
An investment of $679 in 2005 could have purchased one copy of CGC 9.8 Amazing Spider-Man #300, while an investment of $675 could have purchased 13 copies of CGC 8.5 Amazing Spider-Man #300. The average prices paid in 2021 would have the CGC 9.8 investment (one copy) valued at $6,116 and the CGC 8.5 investment (13 copies) valued at $9,321. If it had been possible to purchase 25 copies of CGC 7.0 Amazing Spider-Man #300 for an average of $27 each, the returns would have been even higher.
An additional consideration is that owning a single copy of CGC 9.8 Amazing Spider-Man #300 could only be “cashed out” by selling the book and no longer having the book in the collection, while owning 13 copies of CGC 8.5 Amazing Spider-Man #300 could be “cashed out” by selling one, two, or even twelve copies of the book, while retaining a copy within the collection.

Generally speaking, 9.8 is the grade where people can always stop "spending time" looking for a better copy.
Collectors may have a dozen or even a thousand books on their want lists to get a CGC copy into their collections someday. If you buy a CGC 9.2, you're probably thinking that you could upgrade sometime, and you have to keep the book on your want list, even though you've already got a CGC 9.2... the same for 9.4 and 9.6... so the premium that people pay for CGC 9.8 is usually a reflection of the "finality" of getting that book off the want list, and not having to spend more time looking for one.
Saving time is often more important than saving money... otherwise, we'd all be farming our meals instead of buying groceries and visiting restaurants.

Awhile back I picked up a large Spawn collection. Sold some. Sent some others in to CGC previously. Still have some. Decided to send a few more in for grading. So yeah, lots of Spawn! Note: the Spawn #143 is pristine, the scuff mark upper staple is scanner crud. May have to rescan that one.

“I apologise if you feel”… Wow. Wow. Wow. Weak as p*ss.
This is not an apology. It doesn’t take any accountability or any real responsibility… it should at least read “I did not communicate with you at all. I left you hanging without the book you paid a significant amount of money for. While I was going through a rough time, there is no excuse for not communicating with you about this. I am deeply sorry! What can I do to help make this right? In the meantime I will contact CL and provide a supporting statement to confirm I did not send you the book.”

So, I am assuming this is probably the end of the road on this, so here's the update.
I was given the name of the seller Slugshots Comics and his Instagram feed @Slugshots.Comics, and contacted him there. Slugshots Comics had obtained/posted the book on June 15th on his Instagram feed, a day after having it posted here on the Boards for sale by Omaha.

In response to "Im not sure what i can do for you", I said "you could provide me the name of the person you got the trade from, because the explanation was not quite as simple as it sounds, and that ComicLink would like to speak to him." He saw that message 45 minutes ago and has not responded. Take that for what you will, but if a guy traded me a book that was already sold and the owner of the book was breathing down my neck, I don't think I'd hold out on the guys name.
So, with all that being said and screencapped - I have turned all this over to CLink, as they know the name of the original consignor and they can do whatever they need to do on that end. We will be made whole by CLink, I have no doubt about that. Special thank you again to Spencer, who has been attentive and professional with this. Thank you to Omaha-CGC-Comics for recognizing some next-level BS and helping me out without a bunch of arm-twisting.
The reason I am picking pepper out of gnat shiat on this deal is that because my wife and I chose to buy a big book through a reputable source, and I think it's wrong for a seller to pull this kind of BS especially after they have a deal. I don't care if it's comic books, cars or baseball cards. A deal is a deal, and if you're going to renege - then it's fair game for people to discuss it.

What are people’s impressions of CovrPrice?
I love the CLZ app. It’s phenomenal. I was always disappointed in the GoCollect integration… wished I could hide it - the pricing data was always so bad. (FWIW, I think that this was a short-sighted move by GC - CLZ was the only reason many people would’ve seen their data points).

When CLZ’s Alwin announced that a new partnership was coming, I had everything crossed for it to be @gpanalysis - who, like many of you, I trust and have invested in for years…
I can’t see myself buying a different membership to integrate with CLZ… I wouldn’t ditch GPA and I don’t see the point in paying for two. But I’m still interested in CovrPrice user’s thoughts/experience.
