  1. Find Gunn on Facebook and ask him. Apparently there is still some major secret from the first film that has yet to be discovered.
  2. Wonder if things will heat up tomorrow after Star Wars, who knows maybe Jaxxon or Kanan will appear in the movie? Kanan's first has too many variants, Jaxxon's will be tougher to find in any lcs and if he were to appear I would hope all his appearances get a bump as there are only a few. I dont see Jar Jar getting any love even if he does prove that wonky rumor and Darth Plaguesis is canon but the Dark Horse book is not, same for Dark Empire 5? I wonder though, if any jedi besides Luke survived Vader's cleansing they I just don't understand how vader then forfilled the prophecy. I always figured that Luke being the last Jedi and not just existing as dark or light but a bit of both was the balance that the prophecy spoke of.
  3. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Raphael-1-1985-Teenage-Mutant-Ninja-Turtles-First-Casey-Jones-1st-Print-NM-/121839955125?hash=item1c5e3a2cb5:g:etsAAOSw8-tWbj9B This one impossible to find in high grade.
  4. I've been waiting for the Ultraverse to heat up! Maybe my Rune and Mantra comics will go up in value too. If Visionaries, M.A.S.K., Rom and G.I.Joe can all be getting adapted into a live action, cinematic universe then anything is on the table. I was at a store which was liquidation 1/2 million books the other day and found myself face to face with 40 long boxes of Ultraverse. I went through them all and you know what I found, not a single final issue of any title. In the wild some of those issues are quite rare. I am definitely not saying buy Ultraverse but you just never know. Speculatively speaking I also have the feeling that Wraith is the next V-Wars and not the next Strain.
  5. Agreed. In an industry where Wolverine can be seen in full view and yell his own name at the Hulk in Hulk #180... it's still Hulk #181 that's the big one. We get nothing remotely close to that in MOS #17. The Web of Spider-man #18 (or #24) example for Venom is a perfect comparison. Actually it makes perfect sense. Comics tell stories and Wolverine is not a part of the story in hulk 180. If a person wants to know how wolverine's story first began they need to read hulk 181. If that same person only wants to see a meaningless picture of Wolverine in the last panel at the end of another story openly enticing the reader to buy the next issue so they can actually see his first adventure then they can save a ton of money and settle for a hulk 180. -J. +1 Yep, back in the day, the only way to read that story was to get the issue, as there were no digital, trade paperbacks, or reprint's of Wolverine's first story for 12 years after it was first told. Think about that.... if you wanted to read about Wolverine's first appearance, for 12 YEARS, the only way to do that was to track down IH 181. IH 180? Pfft. That's no Wolverine story. I know it may be hard for some modern collector's to comprehend, but back then, the majority of people who collected, did so out of a love for the comics, to READ them. That's why IH 181 is more valuable. Collectors wanted it to read about Wolverine. It's not like these days when all of these 'collectibles' are simply manufactured to make money off of the less informed. Sorry but I attribute the success of 181 to the cover. There are many examples of a characters first appearing in the issue that came out just prior to the first cover appearance. Back then we didn't have an internet so correcting things like this happened at a snails pace and by the time collectors got it right the damage has been done and the voices of truth fell on deaf ears.
  6. Yea If a book moves because a "spec" site likes it, that's a bad reason to invest. If a book moves because of a media deal, key issue, or rarity, that's a good reason to invest. If it's a comic book that's a bad reason to "invest". +1 Every time someone uses the word 'invest' in regards to comics, I can't help but chuckle. And 'movement', that's another one. 'Movement' "Some sucker on eBay bought a copy! Get yours ready!" One can invest in comics, they just have to be the right comics. Are key moderns a bad investment? Maybe. But with print runs far lower than the copper age isn't it fair to say some of this era's comics may be quite rare in decades to come. I think this might be be to general of a statement, "If it's a comic book that's a bad reason to "invest".
  7. I am also not sure why this is "silly " Aren't we all here to discuss moderns heating up? I checked out the webpage for this comic, it looks pretty cool and there is some talk of it becoming a show or something. Have you read it? If not then I would put you in the category of all those phony ESPN writers who just believed the Wells Report without actually reading it. What if it's awesome? I think you are dismissing it a bit too early. Is that just because a page others than this forum was talking about it first? Honestly if you have any real argument against this book please enlighten me.
  8. Limited to a 100 and a a show might be in the works?
  9. that train lasted what, 36 hours? gosh i hate and love the interweb at the same time. i just don't move fast enough.. The ride ain't over yet, you just have to be selling the right printing. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1992-DC-Superman-Man-of-Steel-18-4th-Print-DOOMSDAY-UNREAD-WHITE-PAGES-/381478842078?hash=item58d1e92ede:g:JVIAAOSwcdBWR7u0 ( This is not my auction )
  10. Aren't the DCU logos are from 1994 and later? 1994-1996. No DCU logo for MOS #17. Alright an answer!
  11. Yeah give it a year or two and it will die down. Those late printings are a nightmare to find. I still have never found a IV, but have found 3 V so go figure. The DC Universe UPC printing for MOS 18 is rare. Is there one for MOS 17? The DC Universes UPC is the 5th print. Also folks, these are Coppers Yes it's the 5th print but the 5th print has a different UPC image and is often called a DC Universe UPC variant no? My question is if there is a DC Universe UPC printing for issue 17. I though the Copper age ended in 1991

  13. There are way more than 500 Diamond accounts though. Diamond services over 2500 accounts. What was the qualifier for this variant? Interesting... you had to signup and parcipate in LCSD and only 300 some shops did so... Which is why the remaining copies are either going to "leak" out through diamond, or be destroyed... Or end up in 5 below bags
  14. Remember in the '90s when Ghost Rider and the Punisher were hot, so Marvel created versions of them for 2099 and the Guardians of the Galaxy timeline? Was anyone interested in those? The print runs on those book were massive, the art was poor and the writing was nowhere near the level we are at now. The only 2099 books worth anything ( not counting the toy edition for Spider-Man 2099 ) are some of the final issues and it's not due to quality.
  15. One thing I hate to admit but the Earth 65 stuff has been quite enjoyable especially Cap's origin.
  16. I agree, i was expecting a silk/spidergwen response from collectors...but gwenpools/deadpool cover aint as hot as it was when her first solo was announced. Idk if thats because the market is leaning more towards this full app vs a cover app......but kamala was the other way around....interested to see how this one plays out Kamala is a bit of a special case, considering it's a reprint with a low print run that also contains a cameo in the story. Give it a few months. Like CM 17, that wasn't a "thing" until the masses knew about that book and started looking for it. I suspect Secret Secret Wars #2 to have it's high point approach like a EOSV #2 regular cover in the $70-100 range now that the early pump and dump from speculators has happened, but that Lim Variant will be king kinda like CM #1 1:50/100 Adams covers. I wonder if the first appearance of Spider-Gwen 2099 will get some love. She only appears on a cover too.
  17. Wait... how are actual sales not an indicator of what people are buying? Sales are. i thought you were commenting on Gambit's first appearance
  18. Not sure when it was released but you can check here. http://www.comichron.com/ Already did. It's not listed..... Could the print run be THAT low ? The numbers may not be available yet. If the date it's released is available for others then it may be that small. Yet not knowing the book I'm not sure if it's that low or not. I wouldn't think a Boom! series would debut that low to not be listed. [/quote These are gonna be tough to find locally.
  19. Banshee is one of the best underrated shows on tv ! The Knick is worth watching too.
  20. I would rather put my money into a NYCC bottle of Pepsi Perfect than an issue of Back to the Future. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pepsi-Perfect-Back-To-The-Future-2-II-Authentic-Official-Bottle-RARE-with-Box-/301776334018?hash=item4643456cc2:g:N5AAAOSwT5tWJUoB And let's see what the comics or the Pepsi are selling for in a week or two after the hoopla dies down for BTTF Day. I just hope Pepsi Perfect doesn't end up like...
