  1. I hope the techie girl buys it. This show needs some real consequences, they're fighting the baddest of the bad.

I love how Cybertech left their Project Deathlok by Cybertech sticker on the bionic leg. lol

    Not exactly covert

NO!!! Let Fitz die, but not Jemma Simmons!

    :sumo:

She is easy on the eyes.

Seen a Summer Glau image with a SHIELD logo. Is that just wishful thinking? Loved her in the Terminator series

Summer Glau would make my post-puberty dreams... Oh how I love watching her.

  2. That's the point right... They keep making money despite reviews, so why change their 'creative' process. It grossed $331 WW in 2005 and only got a 27% approval rating. It made $231M WW!!! Why would they care... It made enough that they created another horrible movie with the same actors in 2007 - only breaking even domestically, but grossed nearly $280M WW, netting what? $158M?

Come on, the studio didn't make anywhere near those amounts, and when theater take, currency adjustment, film and distribution expenses, promotion, advertising, etc. are taken into account, I seriously doubt they make more than $100 total, on both movies, in net profit.

If you see a WW box office total, take approximately 55% of it as take-home by the studio, then subtract production budget, advertising budget and distro/film copies, etc.

Probably about $70 million on FF1 and maybe $20 million on FF2 in net take-home profit.

And then that $90 million in real money gets put through the HW accounting machine and it comes out as a massive loss. :insane:

At the end of the day, they did well enough in 2005, to spin the wheel in 2007 with the same cast. It was either insanity, or money. I'll give you the redactions for expenses... That said, I guess, why wouldn't they actually attempt to leverage the license to its fullest? That 27% approval number is horrible... And yet they still trudged forward with a 30% higher budget for the second one. Wait five years, rinse / repeat.

  3. ehhhh this movie I have a feeling will actually make me want to re-watch the last two, which is very sad.

$ wise I am sure Fox Studio will do fine, but quality wise this is going to be a razzie for sure.

I don't understand why Fox doesn't just copy the Marvel method. It's pretty simple.

  4. I kinda get that they are going Ultimate with Spideman, Thor, most of the Marvel universe... Maybe this will work... But the problem is that they screwed up the origonal soooooo badly that people are still complaining. Frankly, Jessica Alba in a blonde wig is enough to make me want to puke despite it being Jessica Alba under the wig and contacts. Maybe they'll give Jonny Storm a sweet blonde wig and some blue eyes this go-round! How much different would it be, really?

I don't care that much that they're younger, or that they're using the ultimate universe... It does bother me that there is such a trend toward elaborate creative freedom... Why not pasify both readers and the general public and stick a little closer to the source material especially since they are starting with ground zero - unlike Avengers Ultron, for example, where they want to fit in a great villain prior to introducing Pym. I ask honestly because to me it doesn't make any sense.

  5. So I love the paint job and they're cheaper ($) than Hot Toys, but for Ironman, I go with Hot Toys. Money probably spent elsewhere, but I'm a fan. I also have the Hulk. Which I like the Sideshow statue better, but the 16" hulk is pretty badass next to Ironman. My 2cents.

  6. This is def my fav right now. Saga is a close second. Trillium I think is fine but I read it in like 3 minutes, tops. It's a waste of money for me...

I don't think this will get to saga speculation levels, the RRP maybe. This is sad because I have 25 ish copies of the reg 1 and several of the others, not 1 RRP and not going to pay 600 for one... When that gets me 1/4 way to a decent xmen 1.

  7. Wake #4 has a Coffin Hill preview.

Could be relevant in a few months. (shrug)

Yeah... It made me regret ordering 13 copies. Doesn't look like the greatest 2c

Ditto. It doesn't look very good... Which sucks cause the covers look great... Jimmy, perfect # you ordered of this book. Don't know if you planned it that way...

  8. I think the next new comic book movie character coming out is Antman in 2015.

Some speculation that Pym will be abusive to the Wasp. Kinda like the Avenger 213 issue.

She has super powers, right? Couldn't she have zapped him/hit him back or something?

She's a victim of domestic abuse, an abuser psychologically grooms victims over time so it's not easy to fight back or expose the abuse.

    Alright there Buzz Killington.

    That got serious VERY quickly.

    :(

    But yes, very true.

Domestic violence is horrible, so don't get me wrong... That said, this is a comic. I want to laugh at the giant arse antman became. WHAK! WOW so bad I need to pick up a copy.

  9. I can totally see that. Especially in the taking of House of Mao - which was pretty badass. The hands are an interesting touch. Wondering about the vases.

Have you seen any hints of how the world got that way? Is it because of the Horseman or are they a byproduct?

  10. Just read 6. Is there any reason that this needs to be scifi? I mean, ok the kid is 'plugged in' but you can handle that many different ways. I love the book, don't get me wrong... I guess what I'm saying is, this could be easily offered to Mirimax and they could easily take liberties et la: 'Wanted'. Not to say that was good either...

Maybe I just don't get what the futuristic spin on the story brings yet. Thoughts?
