  2. Jesus someone take it! I'm too tempted
  3. That is good news indeed. I really do like CGC and their product, and I would use it a lot more often if TATs weren't such an irritant. This may seem petty, but it affects my level of satisfaction (and as it is I'd rather spend my money on books rather than grading books I already own, all things being equal). Bottom line if you don't like the wait use fast track and stop complaining when they met the turnaround time. It's a little hard to digest fast track with the current arrangement. Your paying "extra" for a "standard" service, and even then nothing is guaranteed, and if it goes over, so what. You usually pay extra to get extra, but here your not getting the extra. Also nearly any other scenario, this is completely unacceptable. I get the part where you may be tired of hearing nothing but complaints, I don't get how you can condone the situation and support paying extra money for something you were supposed to get anyway.
  4. Competition is already here.....we should all write to CGC, consistently, it really is BS, charging extra to reach the original estimate and even if that runs over your still out the extra cash. Granted I'm not privy to all the specific however I'm willing to bet that they could improve TaT's with MINIMAL effort. As someone else already mentioned, books are just sitting in the vault.
  5. So he's supposed to be happy with 3 months!? Estimated TaT or not, thats too much.
  6. I say give it 3/4 more months, around x-mas time if their bottom line had been eroded (which I fully expect) CGC may start thinking about concessions and changes.
  7. Personally speaking I'm of the opinion that they certainly do. To what extent I'm not sure, but I'm convinced they sit on books, especially non fast tracks, it just doesnt make sense any other way. By sitting on it the accomplish a few things, more visits to the site which increases traffic so they can charge more for advertising. Submitters grow impatient so they submit more books (weakest theory, but I think it does occur) and finally frustration with the TaT so that future submissions include the additional FT fee. I was completely joking about the ad revenue angle conspiracy theory, and I'm not convinced they intentionally sit on books either. It just reflects poor management and attention to their business. I think it is just a severe bottleneck caused by a lack of investment. As many others have pointed out, they lack sufficient encapsulation machines and staff trained to use those machines. Books sit in Graded status for a long time because they can't get books through those machines any faster. Slower tiers aren't artificially slowed down, they just get processed after any faster tiers in the line ahead of them. This way it is quite possible that if they spend all day running standard/express books or fast tracked books that not a single slow track economy or value book will get encapsulated in a given day. This simply indicates that they have no interest in investing in their business to fix a known bottleneck and speed up service. And it isn't like this problem hasn't been apparent for a few years now. While certain aspects of this are true, I dont buy the part where lower tier books dont get graded because of higher grade books in the queque. Considering how many books get submitted, I have a hard time believing that one day there happens to be a lull and the lower tier books can get through the machines. Thats a little too convenient, and this day just happens to be around the same time give or take a day or 2 for most if not all lower tier books? I'm sorry but maybe I'm too paranoid to believe that. What makes more sense (to me) is that they sit on the books and eventually they realize"hey we've had these for a while, lets just do them" and they get encapsulated. For your theory to hold, we would see wildly erratic turn around times for non-FT lower tier books as would be dictated by "random" days where there are no books that take precedence. As it sits, the majority of non-FT Moderns get completed in about the same amount of time, at least within a few days of the others. Hence the somewhat steady TaT's. It's too neat, and as Jim Gordon said, I'm not allowed to believe in coincidence. Either way, your right as it has been an issue for a very long time, and they don't seem to make any efforts to correct it.

  10. No, the logical explanation is that CGC doesn't currently have the capacity (either machines or people) to handle the workload when it comes to the physical act of slabbing the books. And as the higher-price (FT, for instance) tiers get priority, the cheaper tiers keep on getting bumped to the back of the slabbing queue. Well I thought about that, yet that would suggest that eventually there are either no books to bump them (unlikely) or CGC just decided "hey it's been long enough, lets just get these done." There are always going to be higher priority books to do so I'm not entirely on board with that theory. I understand that they are short staffed as that has been discussed in detail and the same for off-days like Conventions. I just find it hard to believe that there's a sudden lull in books being submitted and they can get to these lower priority pieces. Regardless, its a moot point, we will keep enduring it or CGC will change due to obvious reasons. Interested to see what happens in the upcoming months.
  11. Maybe I way off base here and if that's the case someone please let me know. However I am of the opinion that instead of simply working on the books, CGC deliberately slows down the non FT lower tier books. I mean what logical explanation is there for a book to be at encapsulation for 3 weeks or QC for 3 weeks? I cannot think of a scenario where regular business simply dictates these delays. I have a modern regular at encapsulation and a new batch comes in and jumps ahead of them sure, but I really think they get these books to each phase, and sit on them instead of just working and having the books treated regularly.

  18. 4 Collectors Society Coupons 5/16/14- Verified 5/30/14- Scheduled for Grading 6/2/14- Graded  seems like it picked up a little speed there, I was expecting a few days in between . It got scheduled and grade over the weekend..this is getting interesting
  19. Scheduled for Grading: 5/30/2014 So we are pretty much neck and neck. Technically which one should finish first? MFT or Coupons? MFT is supposed to be 10 days compared to coupons which are supposed to be 15 days. Yeah but there's estimated (10 &15), current (18&15) and real (who knows) so its a coin toss really.

  22. How about: "Who's got one they're willing to part with????"
  23. Spoke to CGC this morning, they stated Collectors Society Coupons are running at 20 business days. Why not update the site to reflect that?
  24. I'm pretty optimistic that my current slow track value sub will get done ahead of the stated TAT of 59 business days. My count was for those business days to be up at the end of June, and the books were graded on 5/17. I would certainly hope that it wouldn't take them 6 weeks to get them encapsulated and shipped... We were told on our standard submission last week they are expected about 120 days.. I find it hard to believe that any sub would take 120 days. In any event, if mine takes 6 weeks to get encapsulated and shipped they're likely to get a phone call. It's bound to get caught up somewhere. My 4 coupons have been sitting at verified for 2 weeks (9-10 business days) Current and Est is 15. Other coupon subs have been closer to 18-20. I'd honestly be shocked if any tier beat the current time, let alone a "slow track" I'm not even counting their Estimated as legitimate any more. Considering that they would want to show off on the coupon subs to entice memberships, if those are consistently lagging behind, we don't have any hope. Dont pay for fast track it takes longer, pay for fast track it still takes longer than the current TaT.......
  25. My experience shows that their current TaT's have always been longer than the estimated TaT's. Why not update it so that Estimated times ARE Current? I haven't seen nor heard of any submissions pace the "estimated" times. Seems like a folly to have those estimated times up there at all.
