Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
Chaseman210 replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
The Gwenom variant is getting snatched up like crazy by somebody. Earlier today, some were BIN at $5, $12, $19.99, etc. The auction ending soonest is already up to about $60. There were a few on Amazon a couple hours ago at $12. Then at $25. Now the cheapest is $49.99... -

So what do you guys think about WD #98? I know it's been discussed here some before, but -

I had a feeling they would switch it up instead of killing Abe so soon. But now who will be their doctor? -

Are you looking for resale? Are you reading the books? Are you just looking to speculate? You need to be a little more clear on what your goals are. It would help us advise you better. Whether trying to build a nice collection or getting books before they get too high for you to afford, I would learn/look up what the key Hulk books are. That way you can buy first appearances you like, the best looking covers, etc. I honestly don't know much about Hulk books except #181, which is the first appearance of Wolverine. Actually, IH #180 is the first appearance. Ya, I said it! -

The gamestop variant is doing really well also started high and holding well i seen a graded copy show up but idk what happened to it Yea, hindsight it was dumb to not preorder a bunch, but I had the same thought that dealers would go heavy on them. The GameStop is a different animal. I don't know of any others that have held value. If you do the math on what you have to spend to get enough points for one its a pricey book. I never even knew about the GameStop variants until I just went to look one day. I had about 12,000 points saved up that I had never used, and it just happened to be when they were releasing the ASM #1 variant. I got one and sold it for $275 before it came out. I just checked again, but I only have 7,250 points. I see what you're saying about how much one would have to spend in order to get enough points to purchase one of the variants, though. I also don't think they would keep up too much value. Just look at the ASM #1s now... -

If he follows through with a police report, the police will certainly come to his door and the knock will not be friendly. The seller sold the sketched slab for over $500 on eBay. The boardie who got beat out of this book has proof (text messages/emails) from the seller, indicating that the book was owed to him. As the slab has realized a value of over $500, the seller committed *grand larceny*. http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/grand+larceny That is not the seller's only crime. By using a mail carrier to ship this slab (stolen property) over state lines, I am pretty sure the seller would be facing two criminal charges. The latter charge is a Federal Offense, if I am not mistaken. If the boardie files a police report, both of the charges would be set in motion, as far as I can see. Finally, if 5 of us report this listing to ebay as suspected stolen property, the seller will get his due deserts from not only the criminal and federal offenses...but he would just about certainly be kicked off of eBay. Is this about the sketch books? I thought this was cleared up a couple weeks ago.

Hype that it's a 2nd print ala Captain Marvel #17. It may have a low print/distribution (RMA APPROVED CONTEXT), but that is it. It has a picture on the cover that doesn't really happen in the book anyway. People trying to hype it, as well as all the 2nd printings of this run. Ahh okay. I saw one at a comic shop a couple weekends ago for $4. Didn't know if there was a reason for it to go up to $20-30. -

What do you guys think of this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wolverine-2003-series-66-2nd-print-cover-variant-Marvel-Comics-Old-Man-Logan-/201536897654?hash=item2eec890276:g:to4AAOSwu1VW3bV- I remember (several pages back) someone mentioned Old Man Logan. Is there a reason the 2nd print is going up? -

Negan? He is still alive in the books though. That was my thinking. He's been in the books for what, two years now? -

Regarding WD #100...I've got a pretty clean copy of the second print they could possibly be a 9.8. If so, do you guys think it would be better to sell when he appears on the show or send off to CGC and wait until next season? -
Fast Payment and great communication! Couldn't have asked for an easier transaction.

I'm afraid so, although it would be neat to see him stick around a little longer...similar to what they did with Shane. Abraham might be the one to go, but I'm still leaning toward Glenn. They focused a lot on Maggie's pregnancy, which goes along with the comics. Also, unless it was a purposeful misdirection, Maggie is the one who says, "It's gonna cost us something," when they were discussing a deal with Hilltop. I think that was some MAJOR foreshadowing there. -
Bronze age comics that are heating up on eBay...

spiderman 135 has always been underappreciated Like all of these other so-called key books, it's all about the first appearance only. If you look at Nova, Ms. Marvel, Starlord, etc, it's only the first appearance that is going for any money. All of the other subsequent issues are basically nothing more than dreck. So, I guess your one single winner has to be big enough to pay for all of the other losers which you are holding in the run. How about this one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Amazing-Spider-Man-134-Jul-1974-Marvel-VG-FN-1ST-TARANTULA-PUNISHER-CAMO-/171943316709?hash=item28089ecce5:g:Hz8AAOSwVL1WAHxz
