  1. TWD #127 was published on May 14, 2014. One day after my 3rd wedding anniversary. That's when I'm getting married this May!!!
  2. I'm pretty sure they said somewhere that they weren't doing an origin.
  3. I read that on forum, but the follow up was that Negan mentioned before that he had no kids, but if he ever did, he would want them to be just like Carl. Great theory though. It would make for a Romeo and Juliet forbidden love twist. Unless he was lying...
  4. I think so too. It just makes me wonder because it seems there's a whole story left about the mother/daughter situation.
  5. If Rick ends up catching Negan again, do you think he'll finally end it? Or still try to be civilized and jail him again? I feel like it's going down a road where Negan has to die.
  6. + 1. Everybody can make a mistake and therefore we should be given a second chance. That’s not the case in this situation. Oceanavekid has had numerous bad experiences on this board. If he’s taken off the probation list he would have been given multiple chances and the most likely outcome will be a new member getting the screws from him in a couple of months. I thought we were a community that looks after each other. IMO giving this guy the opportunity to sell comics is not protecting the community. The posters who know about him will most likely not deal with him but what about the ample posters that don’t know who he is. Who’s protecting them? IMO I care more about the members who do the right thing day after day then this poster who has been nothing but a problem since he arrived here. The PL is not about being an indelible mark upon someone. "Personal lists" can be permanent "do not deal with" lists. The PL is intended to be a mechanism to get buyers and sellers who have run afoul of the norms to make amends and get back in good standing. The HOS is for indelible marks. I don't necessarily disagree with your thoughts or your position, but the PL has never been intended to "protect" n00bs or those unaware of someone's dealings. Agreed.
  7. I remember listening to this song so many times in high school.
  8. I remember reading a few pages back (not sure who it was who said this), but I watched the show again last night and agree about the Abraham vs. Glenn. If Negan's original plan is for them to work for him, the way Glenn was crying and acting out won't cut it. Abraham was resolute, so I feel like Negan would want to keep him alive. On the other hand, he could see Abraham as somebody who might try to go against him one day, so who knows. It's got to be a man, IMO.
  9. Even though show has at times done things different than the comics, I think this would be WAY too much of a change up. It would change the whole dynamic of the story-line in the show. But I could be wrong. Whomever gets killed you'd think it would have to be someone that would still allow Morgan's jail cell to get utilized right? Murdering a visibly ill, pregnant women in cold blood is the sort of thing the audience and the characters could not reasonably let Negan live long enough to be "rehabilitated". And that, and Maggie dying, would materially alter everything from the source material. They've diverged here and there but kept the basic skeleton of the source material in place thus far. So you're right, it would mean throwing the skeleton out. You brought up another good point. I can see Rick SLOWLY changing his outlook and following Morgan's beliefs like in the book, but I don't think there is any realistic way that could happen if Negan killed her.
  10. Awesome. Like I said I was not aware of what specifically (if anything) lead to its seemingly prompt uptick in interest. I agree it is a very high quality book. Okay, I had the wrong "investment" site, but this is the link that caused Monstress to take off (even before it started getting talked about here): http://investcomics.com/weekly-hot-picks/investcomics-hot-picks-401 It references a previous Hot Pick blog from October 29th: http://investcomics.com/weekly-hot-picks/investcomics-hot-picks-396 Notice the original blog says no copies were on eBay. That original blog came out before Monstress was released on November 4th! Of course there were no copies for sale on eBay. Misleading? Seems so to me... I remember checking eBay when that 2nd blog was posted, and sure enough, Monstress #1 was available for cover price or less. Within days, those copies disappeared. High quality or not, the simple fact is, nobody cared about that comic until that investment site posted about it. Then it sold out very, very quickly. I'm not disputing if the comic warrants the speculation or not. Just saying that is an example of a comic that was hyped on an investment site first, then people became interested using the misleading information that no copies were for sale on eBay. And the reason I remember this, I pointed out back then that this site was manipulating the market for this book. Every new book is featured by these sites now. Just so they say they can told you so. Several of us cared about the book right after we read it. I went back and bought 3 copies at my LCS as soon I read it. Let me tell you it was tough to find nice copies. Every new book is speculated on now. People have disposable income and they are buying 50 copies at a time for some of these books easy. They aren't going to tell you about the ones they lost on. The speculation sites are the same way. Was their some manipulation? Probably its impossible not to have some. But honestly the people saying the like the book aren't people involved with these sites for the most part. The manipulation on raw is much more time consuming then slabbing for them. Its also risky because its easier to get caught. Some of have been thru this before. The card collectors will go away again just like they did last time or they will go broke either way it will settle out in a few years when the movies burn out. By now if you listening to boardies that have been here less then 2 years or so you better know them well. Just urging some caution because no one else will. I think we need another Sixth Gun situation to thin the herd a bit. I remember that. People were driving hours to go to Hastings stores trying to buy all the back issues, etc. I'm glad I never got caught up in the hype. I had one copy and sold it for $20 less than I paid, so I guess I was lucky.
  11. That's a great offer for OAK! I've never dealt with Rich before, but what an awesome thing to do!
  12. Even though show has at times done things different than the comics, I think this would be WAY too much of a change up. It would change the whole dynamic of the story-line in the show. But I could be wrong.
  13. I know I'm biased, but I would always choose AF15. Even if it's not something you would want to personally collect, I feel there the market is larger than the TMNT.
  14. Please edit your post and take down your list! My ID is on it and the situation has been vetted before -- Someone asked a question, Slym misinterpreted some info that followed up, and then he put my ID in the thread and it started getting adding to that blanking list. Later when I pointed out the error and explained Slym apologized for the mistake but the damage has already been done. Not only does my ID pop up in lists like this now but there was a specific case that happened shortly after with a real financial cost to someone who used the list -- the seller lost some bucks when they had my ID blocked and I was prevented from bidding on a DC Whitman. My bid was about 10x what the book sold for so I would have driven up the price a bit and won the book, or at best the seller would have netted a whole lot more cash if I had been the underbidder. Post up individuals with reasons for folks to block them, but let them do their due diligence and decide if they want to block an ID or not, not just copy/paste a list of IDs without knowing the reasons. It might be helpful to know what your ID is so others can delete you if you are on their list by mistake.
  15. I was cleaning out my longbox for a little yard-sale last weekend and found Blackacre 1s . I forgot I even had them.
  16. I never go to the LCS in my area because of the owner. Different things have happened where it just feels weird going in there now. Other people I know (who have been going since wayyy before me) recently quit as well because they couldn't put up with it either. AND comics at the shop don't come out until Thursday instead of Wednesday. I usually let my books build up and then just order all at once from somewhere like Midtown. All the online subscriptions I've found usually have a minimum number, but I don't read a ton of monthlies. I'll get it eventually.
  17. Wish I had a decent comic shop near me so I could actually read books on release day
  18. I would be fine with either Glenn or Abraham. I remember them saying they wished they hadn't killed Abraham so early in the book, so they might keep him around. Eugene became important in the comic as well (ammunition, getting together with Rosita, etc.). I hope he stays around.
  19. It looks to me that the angle/shadowing of a cell phone picture of a TV screen makes the "shadow." The picture you posted is a much clearer image, and when comparing the two, it's clear to see how a shadow could be made out just from the picture's angle. Reminds me of when you look at a laptop at a different angle and the colors/shadows change.
