  1. From past experience, if the post office has a tracking number that shows "delivered", then your insurance claim for a lost package ends right there. In their eyes, they delivered it and that was their only job -- even if the guy claims he never got it, their system shows it as being delivered, so they aren't going to pay up. As others have said, this is a big downside of trading, especially with someone who you didn't vet before doing the deal! Now he has all the comics in his hands, and you have zero recourse against him. If it had been an eBay sale, for example, then you'd likely be safe and the loss would be on him, since you sent the books and they were delivered -- but now you're at this guy's mercy and have to rely on him telling the truth. Hopefully it works out for you, but I'm not thinking this one ends well.
  2. I printed out some international labels this morning, and WOW, they have really made that whole system much worse! An 8 oz. package to Canada is about $7.60 (about a 10% increase), no big deal. But a 9 oz. package to Canada is $12.65 ($5 more for one ounce!). And it is the same price for anything between 9 ounces and 2 lbs., which makes no sense to me. Before, it would go up slightly with every additional 4 ounces. Now, a light 9 oz. package is treated the same as a bulkier 2 lb. package. Still the cheapest and easiest option for shipping out of the country, but I'll definitely miss the old prices!
  3. I call dibs on that Supergirl with cymbals wind-up toy if it is ever for sale! Looks like some cool episodes coming up.
  4. Supergirl: Laura Vandervoort to Play DC Comics Heroine Indigo now just get Tom Welling on there!
  5. The seller was really quick to respond to questions and seemed pretty legit to me. I was a buyer in the $10k range, but at $12.5k, that seems to be what it would optimistically be after getting it pressed/slabbed. Very little upside at that price, with the downside of any potential problems.
  6. I think I know what might've happened. They had a repeat episode this past Monday (which happened to be the Livewire episode) -- so the On Demand date could've shown the Livewire date as 12/21 (instead of the original airdate of late November).
  7. Awesome! How is that awesome? All DC does is keep there big players in the minors. Nothing like more TV time for movie type charcters. DC is so insert curse word stupid. Marvel keeps embarrassing them at every turn. Nobody ever said that this means we'll never see Bizarro in a movie. The Man of Steel solo movies are supposedly on 'permanent hold' right now anyway, so what's the soonest we could possibly get another Superman movie with Bizarro? 2020? I'd rather see see some Bizarro on tv now and possibly in the movies later, than keep waiting and waiting for a movie that will probably never happen.
  8. Bizarro Set To Appear On 'Supergirl' Awesome!
  9. Supergirl To Meet Flash On CBS For May Sweeps Week? "A little Thanksgiving gossip comes to us regarding the future of DC’s TV shows on CBS. Bleeding Cool has been told by a reliable source to expect Supergirl to meet the Flash and the STAR Labs crew from her fellow show by May’s sweeps week, if CBS orders the last episodes of Supergirl. Comissioned for 13 episodes, CBS has an option for a “back nine” to bring the season up to 22. CBS believes Supergirl may need the ratings boost…"
  10. They're just skipping this episode and airing the next one tonight, so it should still be on. They're showing the Thanksgiving episode with Livewire tonight (a week ahead of schedule).
  11. Yes...? No...? -slym They leaked the pilot episode about six months before it aired on tv, and there was a ton of complaining about how they were afraid to say "Superman" -- so I think they overcompensated when they saw the fan's feedback to the pilot and wrote episode two. It's kind of funny how we went from "they don't mention Superman enough" to "they say 'Superman' too much!"
  12. "CBS has switched up this week’s episodes of “Supergirl” and “NCIS: LA” in the wake of Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris because of plotlines that mirror the real-world violence." CBS Shuffles Episodes of 'Supergirl' Following Paris Attacks Certainly understandable, considering Episode 4 was supposed to be about Supergirl saving the city from a series of bombings, but definitely weird switching the order of episodes! I guess it won't mess with the continuity, and I've been looking forward to Episode 5 (the one with Livewire, which will be shown tomorrow instead of Episode 4), so should be interesting.
  13. Since it's not available until May, and the (13 episode) season 1 will be long over by then, do you think that this means they are pretty confident in it being successful/getting a second season? Wouldn't make much sense to create a statue based on a tv show/actress that they felt was going to flop. Or is that overanalyzing it?
  14. If you plug in the item # on watch count (in the keyword search box), then it should say "Sold for ______". Sometimes that doesn't work, and you have to click the link that says "check price here on eBay" or "History" and it will take you to the U.K. eBay site which shows the offers/final price. Watch count is helpful for current BIN/Make Offer listings too, because you can see the offers (if any) that have been made/declined. Definitely a useful tool.
  15. I think you can open up a case on eBay as a buyer within 45 days, and PayPal will absolutely have your back as well (PayPal is up to six months in some cases). Worst case, you can go to your credit card company as a last resort. But call eBay first -- they'll see the seller's recent history and side with you.
  16. No, it's right -- she's Cat Grant. You might've been thinking of Helen Slater (who is playing her foster mother), with Dean Cain being the foster father.
  17. Great buyer. Time payment deal, paid ahead of time. Highly recommended.
  18. I like this trailer much more than the other one. Hoping the show is more superhero-first, chick-flick stuff second -- not the other way around like the other trailers made it seem.
  19. Great buyer. Four-figure time payment deal, always paid on time. Thanks again!
  20. That's actually a pretty nice AF15! Too bad about those tape pulls. I wonder how high it could grade with those tape pulls? 4.0? It drives me absolutely insane when sellers scan the inside front cover like that -- he probably popped the top staple during the process, since he mentioned that the cover was completely attached in his original description, THEN he added the inside front cover scan. Pic #4 shows the cover still attached at the top staple, while Pic #3 shows it detached -- so he probably did it right there as he scanned the inside front cover. That's always something to worry about on eBay with non comic sellers, especially on a book that will get dozens of questions from bidders -- the seller could very easily damage it (after posting the original pics) due to people asking to count the pages/check for restoration/take extra pics/etc.
  21. Michael and I did a trade for an expensive book, and he was great to work with. Highly recommended.
  22. Great buyer. $10k+ deal, no problems. Highly recommended.
  23. I clicked the link to see if he actually said that -- I hope I'm not the only one!
  24. I just watched it too -- I really liked it. Sure there were a couple of corny lines in there, but it was only the pilot episode and I think it will be pretty good. But I don't think my opinion counts, because I also liked Smallville and the Green Lantern movie.
