  1. Awesome stuff! Love that More Fun 52!
  2. I have been selling books from an original owner horror collection over the past few weeks on eBay, and I listed ten slabs that just came back from CGC this evening. All really nice-looking copies for the grades. No reserve, ten-day auctions, with free shipping to US bidders. You can find my listings on eBay under the name "blissard". I have about 100 more books from this collection still at CGC, so please be sure to check back over the coming weeks/months to see the rest of the collection. Thanks! - Adam 1 Astonishing #4 Pre-Code Horror Stan Lee App. Classic Cover Atlas 1951 CGC 7.5 2 Blue Bolt Weird Tales #114 High Grade Pre-Code Horror L.B. 3. Not sure if anyone else commented on this, but it's crazy to me that the ZodiacKiller discussion board link in the first post of this thread is STILL an ongoing topic on that site with over 250 replies! I just skimmed parts of it and it seemed like some people were going a little (way) overboard trying to connect this book & Red Ryder comics from the 1940's etc to the killer. It wouldn't surprise me if someone from that Zodiac site won the book.
  4. Going to close this out in the morning; thanks to everyone for the comments and PMs.
  5. I would do $30k on the AF15, if anyone is interested. I think it's priced about where it would bring at auction, was just trying to avoid the selling fees if possible on a bigger book!
  6. Thanks guys! Bumping this up for the Sunday night crowd!
  7. That's all for now, I have a few other books I might post, but seeing how these do first. Thanks for looking!
  8. Book #3. Captain Marvel Adventures #18 CGC 7.5 1st App. Mary Marvel Price: $11,500 Old label; most likely was never pressed (especially since this copy was graded in 2003 when it was a sub-$1,000 book). One of the top ten copies ever graded by CGC; just eight copies grade higher (with 9.0 being the highest). A different 7.5 recently sold for $10,000 via buy-it-now on eBay (which was probably a good deal); in the lower grades, this book has exploded in price in recent years (4.0’s are bringing close to $4k), but a high grade copy hasn’t been auctioned off in many years. Graded 5/24/03, grader notes: -Left Center Front Cover Wear -Right Center Back Cover Wear
  9. Book #2. Action Comics #252 CGC 8.0 1st App. Supergirl Price: $13,000 Beautiful, high grade copy of a mega Silver Age key. This was a copy that I held on to over the years because it presented better than almost any other 8.0 that I’ve come across for this issue. If you look at various copies of this book, the red & blue colors on the front cover can vary from having a “faded” look to having deep, rich red & blue colors on Superman & Supergirl (like you see on this copy). I’ve bought and sold several other 8.0’s for $16-16.5k in recent years (and this copy honestly presents better than those copies). Graded 4/2/15, grader notes: -Full Left Back Cover Shadow -Left Center Front Cover Crease Breaks Color -Left Top Front Cover Address/Date/Name Stamp -Spine Fade
  10. Book #1. Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 4.0 OW/W Pages 1st App. Spider-Man Price: $32,500 (closed) Beautiful 4.0 copy. Strong cover colors, off-white to white pages, no Marvel chipping. As far as 4.0 copies go, this is the type of example you’d hope to find. Recent comparable sales: last GPA sale for a 4.0 was last month for $29,999 (with cream to off-white pages). Second to last GPA sale for a 4.0 was in a March Heritage auction for $26,400 (though that copy had Marvel chipping and tape). Please note that what might look like staining in the center front cover area of my scan is just a slight “Newton ring effect” that you commonly see on these newer CGC holders (does not harm the book). Graded this past week, grader notes: -moderate creasing back cover -readers crease front cover breaks color -tear right center of front cover -wear all edges back cover -wear all edges front cover breaks color
  11. Thread is now closed. This is my first sales thread on the boards in a few years, but I’ve done well with them in the past, so thought I’d test the waters with a few cool books. Payment via cashier's check or bank wire. U.S. customers only. USPS Priority Mail Express (overnight shipping) with insurance and signature confirmation is included. Time payments are available, but I'd like some sort of payment upfront. If you are interested, just send me a PM -- I'm easy to work with. Usual rules. No returns on CGC graded books. First “I’ll take it” in the thread gets it. Any questions, please let me know. Kudos thread is posted on the boards, and I sell on eBay under the name "blissard" (100% positive, with over 25,000 feedback). Thanks! -Adam
  12. Sounds like it should get a sequel, or at the very least, the Black Adam movie should be pretty likely after these results?
  13. Wouldn't the seller be out the fees, not the buyer? This is the first time I've seen anyone read it as the buyer losing the 3%, not the seller. Seller should eat the fees, not the buyer (even though it's still a dumb policy change).
  14. We had a 30+ minute line at the concessions stand, but figured it would be fine since the 4:00 movies typically don't actually start til near 4:20.. missed the beginning as a result, but I'll see it again anyway. Thought it was really good!
  15. Hilldale! (Plus spelling "favorite" funny )
  16. Sold within 20 minutes of being listed.. sometimes it's better to be lucky than good! (I wasn't the buyer).
  17. Death, taxes, anddddd increased postal rates... guaranteed.
  18. Use Gavelsnipe. It's free. You can snipe eBay, and you can also snipe Heritage. The homepage states that they have a 99.9% success rate, and I can stand by this number. I've used it for thousands of snipes and never had an issue.
  19. So you've never actually met this person right? Or talked on skype or anything? I agree with what someone else said above in the sense that a year to improve yourself will be good -- but Gabe, this is a textbook example of catfishing and the chances of "her" being real are next to zero!
  20. I honestly don't believe that any of this can be real. It is just mind-blowing. Yet I keep coming back to read it
  21. I recently purchased an original owner Golden Age collection, which will be sold over the next several weeks at auction on eBay (username: blissard). Everything is being sold "raw" with no reserve; many Action, Batman, Detective, Sensation, Superman, Wonder Woman issues will be posted. This is a little blurb that I included in the listings about the collection: Over the coming weeks, I will be posting comics from an original owner Golden Age collection that I bought recently. The comics in this collection were amassed by two young brothers back in the 1940’s; these books sat untouched in a small farm house for many decades, until recently when one of the brothers passed away at the age of 82. The books in this collection all have excellent page quality (virtually all have off-white to white (or better) pages). All are 100% unrestored; none have ever been pressed or messed with in any way whatsoever. They will all be offered "raw" (unslabbed) at auction with $1 opening bids over the next month or so. There will be hundreds of early to mid 40’s books, including many DC superhero comics, so please be sure to save me to your favorite sellers list to see my new listings each week!
