  1. It was so long ago that it was when you could tape a book and improve the grade; so believe it or not this graded out at 4.5. Sold it many years ago though.
  2. Just a head's up on this eBay auction: https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-ADVENTURE-COMICS-NO-40-THE-SANDMAN-JULY-1939-ACTION-COMICS-DC-COMICS/183534532068?hash=item2abb82b5e4:g:wZ0AAOSwu9Jb6zcz:rk:1:pf:0 I bought this very book YEARS ago on eBay with the exact same pics/description (can be seen here on Worthpoint): https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-adventure-comics-40-sandman-439817040 It was later slabbed (and had a piece of tape added over the torn spine); this auction is 100% without a doubt a scam. Just wanted to post this as a warning to any potential bidders.
  3. There is definitely a way to do it -- if DeadOne's suggestion doesn't work, let me know and I'll look up my settings because mine leaves off the receipt
  4. An eBay customer service representative told me once that if I buy a raw book off of eBay then send it to say CGC and they detect undisclosed restoration, then by me sending the book away to CGC, undisclosed resto or not, I've lost my chance to return the book because for all eBay knows, the person I sent it to restored it (or it could've been damaged while out of my possession, etc.). In this case, the book was sent away and on top of that, removed from the PGX holder, so unless the seller wants to make things right on his own, I just can't see eBay or PayPal ever siding with the OP. I've had similar nightmares with PGX books too; one of those things you have to experience firsthand before you learn your lesson it seems.
  5. Thanks! I'll take these ones as well (via PM): -Flash Comics 34 $80, -Detective 77 $90, -Detective 166 $65
  6. Wow, I have never seen that one before! Pretty sure that's what he was looking for.
  7. Good timing! https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/humor/peanuts-1-united-feature-syndicate-1953-cgc-vg-fn-50-off-white-pages/a/121825-14650.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515
  8. Many people have tossed around the idea that a complete, coverless Action 1 would bring $100k+ lately -- would you rather have a complete coverless copy or this one (covers but no centerfold)? It seems like the obvious answer is this copy, so the quick $100k start doesn't surprise me.
  9. This is by far the best eBay discount I've ever seen.. it's cash cash and not just eBay Bucks. I usually wait for an 8-10% eBay Bucks deal to order a few months of bags & boards, but this is even better.
  10. True, that would work as well.. either way, he's made the list It's really hard to get added to my block list without personally dealing with me first.. but the feedback left for others by this guy is just too much.
  11. Like someone else said.. you run the risk of ticking him off and then he gets to reply to your reply.. and then you can't reply again. So you'd have: snarky "positive feedback", with your reply below that, then _______ whatever this nut decides to post as the final word. I would lean toward not replying to his feedback personally.
  12. I'm going to guess Weird Fantasy #12 on this one. I just googled "Doctor Jansen" + "GCD" (Grand Comic Database) and it brought up a summary of Weird Fantasy #12 with a Doctor Jansen A.R.C. story that seems to match this.
  13. I swear they post these things JUST after I paid for an eBay purchase. Drives me nuts!
  14. I think the coverless Funny Pages book from page 1 "might" be V3 #6 (the Arrow story seems to match up), but I could be wrong! http://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=58765
  15. Awesome! Do you think this makes Wonder Woman less likely to appear?
  16. Oops, sorry I misread the description! I actually bought the Fantastic for $64 in the other auction. I was bummed to see this one sell (when I thought it came with both parts) -- I thought the seller might have had TWO coverless Fantastic 3's.. looks like there was just one. Still a good buy since the boardie who bought it had a coverless Tec 36 and I believe the back cover is a "common" back cover that can be found.
  17. I was disappointed too -- I would've paid that & more, as the interior was a coverless Fantastic Comics #3. Two great parts to have (the Tec cover and the Fantastic interior).
  18. Alibaba is also up 100% in the past year, so if this was updated at any point up until now, the AF15 would probably be ahead. Both did well in the past three years though
  19. I'll take the last three remaining books too: Avenger 9, Black Knight 11, Great Action Comics 1. Sorry for not doing it all in one post. Cool books!
  20. Also take: Daring Adventures 17 Daring Adventures 16 Dollman 17, 15, 11
